4 Draco ultra displayport extender Series 490 Modular KVM extender for DisplayPort Series bit color depth DESCRIPTION IHSE s Draco ultra DP is the first 4K DisplayPort KVM extender with a 60Hz refresh rate and full 30-bit color depth. The device constitutes a new generation of digital KVM signal extension using the innovative Lightweight Image (LICI) codec, developed in cooperation with Fraunhofer IIS. This revolutionary coding technology ensures brilliant image quality at the highest video resolutions with outstanding color accuracy. The new 490 Series Draco ultra DP extender allows the operation of CPUs from a remotely located workstation including DisplayPort monitor, keyboard and pointing device over a single duplex fiber cable. Transfer of fully-digital video is supported in 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at a real 60-Hz refresh rate and full color depth (30-bit, 4:4:4). The KVM extender also supports audio transmission via the DisplayPort interface. This eliminates the need for additional audio modules, enabling playback of the audio signal on monitors with integrated loudspeakers. Integration of optional Draco vario upgrade modules for digital audio input and output as well as data signals, such as USB 2.0 and RS232 is also possible. The Draco ultra DP extenders are offered in single or redundant path variants. Redundant data links increase system resilience, prevent system failures and can also be used for duplicating signals. 5 Draco ultra extenders with Lici technology Ultra Series Extenders for point-to-point or use with Matrix KVM Draco ultra HDMI 491 Series IHSE s Draco ultra 491 Series is designed to extend HDMI signals up to 140 meters over Cat5e/6 twisted-pair cabling or up to 10 kilometers over single-mode fiber. These state-of-the-art extender units provide up to 2160p30 video resolution along with latency-free USB for keyboard and mouse Draco ultra Dual-Head/Dual-Link 492 Series The new Draco ultra 492 Series Cat5e/6 and fiber extenders for DVI-D in dual-head or dual-link models. The dual-head model, the Draco ultra Dual-Head KVM extender, makes it possible to connect two DVI monitors over a single twisted-pair or fiber cable, saving the expense of a second extender and reducing cabling cost and installation effort. When used in conjunction with KVM matrix systems, the Draco ultra Dual-Head KVM extender saves valuable matrix ports. Its sister product, the Draco ultra Dual-Link KVM extender, allows users to transmit DVI signals to a single monitor with up to 2160p30 resolution. Draco ultra DisplayPort Series The new 493 Series Draco ultra DP extender allows the operation of CPUs from a remotely located workstation including DisplayPort monitor, keyboard and pointing device over a single duplex fiber cable. Transfer of fully-digital video is supported in 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at 30-Hz refresh rate and full color depth (24-bit, 4:4:4). The KVM extender also supports audio transmission via the DisplayPort interface. Draco ultra DVI-I 494 Series IHSE has long offered DVI-I extenders to convert analog VGA signals to digital DVI. Now, with the Draco ultra 494 Series, legacy VGA signals can easily be interfaced to all other Draco ultra extenders, reducing the need to incorporate additional VGA-to-DVI conversion boxes. The 494 Series comes in Cat5e/6 or fiber cabling styles to support all types of professional AV applications. The 494 Series supports analog resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 hertz while providing excellent latency-free performance for keyboard and mouse connections. Draco ultra HDMI 495 Series The 495 Series Draco ultra for HDMI 2.0 enables users to operate CPUs from a remotely located workstation including DisplayPort monitor, keyboard, and pointing device over a fiber connection. The 495 Series supports the transfer of fully digital video in 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at a real 60 hertz refresh rate and full color depth (30 bit, 4:4:4). The KVM extender also supports audio transmission via the HDMI interface. Through optional Draco vario add-on modules, it is possible to integrate digital audio input and output as well as data signals such as USB 2.0 and RS232. For direct video access in the server room, the CPU includes a local output to connect a control monitor. At the same time, a switchable local input on the CON unit connects to local sources. Draco ultra SDI 496 Series The 496 Series Draco ultra SDI extender, the most recent addition to the company s Draco ultra KVM extender series. IHSE s latest SDI extender converts 3G-SDI signals for sharing serial digital video with IHSE s Draco tera KVM matrix switches. The new extender allows source and destination extensions up to 10 kilometers over single-mode fiber.an integrated signal-conversion function uses Lici technology to switch SDI sources from the CPU to any other extender connected to the matrix in the digital video domain, including DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort. Likewise, the matrix can switch any of the DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort CPU units to the SDI CON unit. This capability allows users to view content on a wide range of monitors without needing dedicated SDI displays and extra cables for SDI extension. 5

6 Draco vario SDI / KVM extenders 486 / 496 Modular extender for USB 3.0 Draco vario 486 / 496 SDI/KVM extenders DESCRIPTION The new Draco vario SDI series accepts SDI signal formats up to 3G-SDI. From there the extenders allow source and destination extensions up to 10 kilometers over single-mode fiber or up to 140 meters over Cat X, making it possible to extend high-resolution computer-based content to or from broadcast serial digital equipment. The vario SDI extender comes in two models: a CPU (TX) model and a CON (RX) model, both of which support pluggable SFP modules for SDI fiber, SDI coax, or a combination of both. They are designed to function seamlessly with IHSE s Draco tera compact or Draco tera enterprise matrix switch solutions to cost-effectively distribute SDI video in parallel with the company s standard KVM extenders. The vario SDI extender supports video resolutions up to 1080p60 via an SFP module available in either HD-BNC for coax or duplex LC for fiber. In addition, the system supports embedded audio via the SMPTE ST- 259, ST-292, and ST-424 serial digital standards. Once connected to an IHSE matrix switch, the signal can then be used to switch converted SDI from the CPU to function with other extenders connected to the matrix. This capability allows users to view content on a wide range of monitors without needing dedicated SDI displays and extra cables for SDI extension. Conversely, from the matrix switch, signals initiated from an original HDMI or DVI extender can be routed to the SDI CON unit for conversion to an SDI output. 6

7 Draco tera CPU Control Card Draco tera Control card for Draco tera enterprise matrix Draco tera CPU Board 480-CTRL2 DESCRIPTION The 480-CTRL2 offers a wide range of functionality including SNMP version 3, which encompasses services for authentication, privacy, and access control; the LDAP version 3 open-standard protocol for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information over an IP network; dual LAN ports for fail-safe, redundant network interfaces; and a genlock option for synchronizing serial digital sources when the switch is adapted with SDI option cards. The 480-CTRL2 creates a unified control system that brings all SDI, USB 3.0, and KVM input and output cards within the switch matrix under a single point of control, enabling system administrators to simplify a facility s workflow. Control-management options include status reporting, assigning presets, firmware updates, system data analysis, network configuration, definition of extender devices, user assignments, password administration, and logging information management. The control card allows for automatic configuration updates to the distributed extenders without the need to physically access them or reboot the system. 9 Draco Programmable Keyboard 444 Series Customer keyboard for IHSE Matrix Systems With the new freely programmable IHSE (Series 444) keyboard, a keyboard, mouse and keypad can be connected as a single HID device to a KVM system through a single USB port without the need for an additional HID extension. The remaining USB port on the extender CON Unit allows simultaneous connection of another USB HID device. The mechanical and ergonomic keyboard is designed for high demands and heavy duty with up to 50 million keystrokes. Comfortable operation: The high-quality workmanship with anodized aluminum housing, adjustable tilt angle, abrasion-resistant key lettering, precise attachment points and excellent haptics with optional damping element provides a very pleasant writing experience. Practical extension: The keyboard can be expanded by up to two matching 25-keypads [Part No 444-K25]. for freely programmable function keys or macros (2 Layers = 50 Strings). 10 Tera Viewer 480-VIEW IP based monitoring and switching of CPUs and consoles DESCRIPTION Tera Viewer software The Tera Viewer software provides IP based preview of video signals passing through Draco tera KVM matrix systems. It is a convenient method of checking and monitoring images, as often required in control and monitoring applications. Live image previews are presented on a separate screen layout which can be configured through the Tera Viewer software as required. Switching of data paths in the KVM switch can also be achieved by means of a drag-and-drop feature of the Tera Viewer software package. Transmission via IP encoder Video previews are generated by an efficient H.264 IP encoder. The encoder is directly connected to dedicated ports on the KVM matrix switch through individual CON Units (481 Series) and follow the input and output video. Simple use from everywhere Live monitoring and switching are available to system administrators wherever a high-performance IP connection is available; independent of physical location and proximity to the Draco tera KVM matrix switch itself. Protection against unauthorized access To ensure maximum security and prevent unauthorised access to data streams and switching functionality, the Tera Viewer includes a unidirectional connection. System requirements For a specifically use of the Tera Viewer package, two Draco vario HDMI CON Units (for connecting the IP encoders) are required. For the Tera Viewer, a PC with Intel Core i5 processor, or better, is recommended. 17 The Draco tera enterprise matrix switch can accommodate a wide range of signal formats. I/O cards can be mixed in the same frame allowing ultra flexibility for any KVM application. Draco tera enterprise 480-C8: I/O Card - Cat-X The Draco tera 480-C8 card is based on 8 bi-directional ports using standard RJ-45 Cat-X interconnects. The card is port agnostic allowing the same card to be used for either input or output connections. Signal formats supported included DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA. Signals can be extended up to 140m. The card is hot swappable and includes a locking tab to keep the card securely in place. 480-S8: I/O Card - Fiber The Draco tera 480-S8 card is based on 8 bi-directional ports using standard duplex LC fiber optic connections. The card is port agnostic allowing the same card to be used for either input or output connections. Signal formats supported include DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA. Signals can be extended up to 10km. The base cards allows up to 8 SFP modules to be installed as either transmitters or receivers. For SDI signals, the card can be installed with SFP Fiber or SFP mini-coax modules. Use the high-speed 6Gbps SFP modules to support USB 3.0 signals. 480-X8: I/O Card - empty SFP cages The 480-X8 card is a base-unit plug in card that comes without SFP modules installed. The card is recommended for applications where CWDM or as a spare parts board. The card is port agnostic allowing the same card to be used for either input or output connections. Refer to the CWDM section for recommended CWDM SFP modules and supported wavelengths. 480-GRD-S8: I/O Card - Grid 8:1 Card The new dual-port Matrix Grid board replaces the standard I/O board previously used for matrix interconnection and dramatically reduces cabling required between them. With the new board, eight grid lines that previously required eight separate duplex fibers, are established using a single duplex fiber connection. 17
