2 Introduction The TRACERCO HART density gauge is comprised of a standard field mounted detector (PRI 116C) and a DIN rail mounted Modbus to HART converter (PRI 160). The density gauge provides configuration, diagnostic and reporting options including temperature correction, pressure correction and concentration information. These features are used in to provide a single percentage output corresponding to density, level or concentration. The TRACERCO HART density gauge can also be used as a level instrument. Figure 1 Arrangement Diagram GAS Liquid The Tracerco HART Density Gauge (PRI 116c) is an Ex d certified product and is powered from a single 24V supply from the cabinet mounted PRI 160 Hart communications module. Field device errors and diagnostic reporting is transferred through the HART converter to the DCS / control system. External Pressure or Temperature correction can be applied to compensate for variations within the vessel or pipe.
3 Specification General Level / Density / Concentration Measurement EMC Configuration Electrical Power Requirements Hart compatible 4-20mA Output. External HART input for Pressure / Temperature correction. External 4-20mA correction signal can be achieved when combined with a PRI second update interval of level / density / concentration - constant output. PRI 160 Control cabinet mounted HART interface. PRI 116C Field mounted measurement instrument. Both units comply with directive 89/336/EEC Hart Transmitter 10-34V DC 2.5VA Power supply required for PRI 160. The PRI 160 supplies power to the PRI 116C field mounted instrument. PRI116C (Sensor instrument) Sealing Sealing to IP66 Electrical Safety Flameproof enclosure certified EEx d IIC T6. Suitable for Zone 1 operation Operating -20 o C to +60 o C Temperature Range Detector cable 5 core screened cable is required for connection between the PRI 160 and the field mounted PRI 116C unit The PRI 116C is supplied with a made off flameproof gland and 4m pigtails as standard. A flameproof junction box with appropriate glands is required to connect the PRI 116C to the PRI 160. PRI160 (Modbus to HART converter) Operating 0 o C to +70 o C Temperature range Electrical Safety Safe Area mounting only (Cabinet mounted - DIN rail fitting) Indicators LED indicators provide instant recognition of power and connection to the PRI 116C. Electrical 2 wire passive 4-20mA / HART interface to DCS.
4 Software Configuration, diagnostic, monitoring and data logging software is available through the Tracerco SmartGauge Viewer Software Version 2 or above. The HART Device Descriptor (DD) is will be available for the 275 / 375 handheld configurator.
