1 GeoEel Digital Marine Streamer The GeoEel digital towed hydrophone streamer is the first narrow-diameter array with the performance of larger systems. With a diameter of only 41 mm, the GeoEel is easy to deploy, easy to transport and can be shipped by air. Separate 8 channel modules coupled with unique slim active section design yield noise levels under 5 microbars and make the GeoEel immune from the electronic interference, leakage and ground loops that plague the installation of analog streamers. GeoEel active sections are filled with inert silicone oil, making them environmentally safe and nonflammable. Thick 1/8 inch-thick abrasion resistant polyurethane makes the streamer extremely rugged but still flexible enough to deploy on small boats. The GeoEel communicates via fast Ethernet to the CNT-2 controller, running field-proven software used on over 40 installations. 6 The GeoEel Convertible. Digitizer Console Charge Amplifier Still have a stock of analog sections with lots of life left in them? Not sure that it is time to make the move to a fully digital system? GeoEel digital electronics can be packaged in a rugged convertible rack chassis with up to 240 channels plus 8 aux channels. Each rack mount chassis is controlled by its own Ethernet connection, ensuring fast cycle time and low dead time. The software and hardware is functionally identical to the full in-water digital configuration. Please contact the factory to discuss compatibility. When your older analog streamers wear out, the GEC doesn t become obsolete too. The GEC can be repackaged into in-water canisters and mated with the new hydrophone streamer sections to build a fully digital telemetry streamer without buying new electronics. The system includes a rack-mount 110/220 power supply with LCD displays showing a direct read-out of capacitance and resistance. The GeoEel mates with an optional Charged Amplifier to interface to high-impedance piezoelectric hydrophone arrays. Line equalization and impedance matching circuits optimize streamer output to your recording system. Additional circuitry provides for testing and monitoring of the in-water array. RC line equalizer networks are provided to insure that all hydrophone groups and streamer wiring have the same electrical characteristics. As the leakage resistance across the input terminals varies from infinite (no leakage) to 10,000 ohms, the frequency response and phase angle at the output of the charge amplifier remain essentially flat, changing less than 1.5 db for a 2000 meter streamer. Provision is made for externally testing the capacitance of each hydrophone channel and the leakage resistance of each channel to seawater ground. A built-in ocillator is provided to test the frequency response, gain and noise characteristics of each channel 6

With the high cost of new survey instrumentation, it makes sense to make the most of what is available. However, newly built replacement analog sections are becoming difficult to obtain, dictating that your next generation of system will probably be an in-water digital telemetry recorder. So how do you carry forward your significant investment in equipment? The GeoEel convertible 8 channel board stacks can be redeployed in titanium canisters and mated with its related digital active hydrophone sections. This saves you thousands of dollars on new electronics and gives you an easy upgrade path. The active sections come in a wide variety of programmable group intervals, are made from non-toxic materials and are shippable by air. 7
