Changes made to this document The most recent version of this document is available from here: All changes since May 2018 Fibre Channel HBAs - General The term Vendor driver only is now being used in place of Not Supported as this was misleading. ATTO Celerity 16/32GB ATTO Celerity fibre channel HBAs are supported using the DataCore Emulex driver with SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 8 or later. ATTO Celerity Speed Model SANsymphony 9.x SANsymphony 10.x 8GB/s Any Vendor driver only Vendor driver only 16GB/s Any Vendor driver only 10.0 PSP 8 or later 32GB/s Any Vendor driver only 10.0 PSP 8 or later Previously, all ATTO HBAs were listed as Vendor driver only. Added Two new sections The DataCore 8GB Emulex driver The DataCore 16/32GB Emulex driver These both replace the single, generic DataCore Emulex driver section for the new behavior introduced for 16/32GB Emulex HBAs. For previous changes made to this document please see page 27 Page 3

Fibre Channel HBAs Fibre Channel Vendors The following pages list the minimum versions of SANsymphony that must be installed to use the DataCore Fibre Channel for specific models of HBA in a DataCore Server. Entries listed as Vendor driver only can still be used in a DataCore Server but only as a connection to the Storage Array using the storage vendors own preferred driver. The HBA will not be displayed in the SANsymphony console and physical disks connected using the vendor driver will appear as if they are direct connected. Agilent Model SANsymphony 9.x SANsymphony 10.x Any Vendor driver only Vendor driver only ATTO Celerity Speed Model SANsymphony 9.x SANsymphony 10.x 8GB/s Any Vendor driver only Vendor driver only 16GB/s Any Vendor driver only 10.0 PSP 8 or later 32GB/s Any Vendor driver only 10.0 PSP 8 or later Brocade Model SANsymphony 9.x SANsymphony 10.x Any Vendor driver only Vendor driver only Page 4

Notes on FC drivers, firmware and BIOS The DataCore QLogic driver This applies to all 8, 16 and 32GB/s QLogic HBAs. Installing the driver and firmware The version of the DataCore QLogic driver and firmware is specific to each SANsymphony release and is displayed - for each DataCore fibre channel port - in the SANsymphony Management Console along with the version of QLogic firmware included with the release. Notes: New installations The DataCore driver is automatically installed, during the SANsymphony installation process, on any HBA it detects and will replace any native drivers that may already be installed. After the SANsymphony software is already installed HBAs installed after the SANsymphony software is running will not get the DataCore driver installed automatically when a new HBA is installed. The DataCore driver will need to be applied manually using the Windows device driver update process. See the section How to replace a fibre channel driver towards the end of this document on how to do this. Upgrading the DataCore driver and firmware The DataCore QLogic driver and firmware is upgraded whenever the SANsymphony software is upgraded. Notes Never try to upgrade an HBA using the DataCore driver (or firmware) using other methods (e.g. QLogic s own tools) as this will remove the DataCore driver from the HBA and SANsymphony will no longer be able to detect or use it. If by accident the DataCore QLogic driver is replaced with a native version, it can easily be reapplied. See the section How to replace a fibre channel driver towards the end of this document. The HBA s BIOS The QLogic BIOS is not included with the DataCore driver. Use the HBA vendor s own tools and processes to upgrade the BIOS to the most current available for the HBA. Also see: Server Port Details Known Issues - Third Party Hardware and Software Page 12

Notes on FC drivers, firmware and BIOS The DataCore 16/32GB Emulex driver Applies to SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 7 Update 2 or later Earlier versions of SANsymphony do not support any 16/32GB Emulex HBAs with the DataCore driver. Installing the driver and firmware The version of the DataCore Emulex driver and firmware is specific to each SANsymphony release and is displayed - for each DataCore fibre channel port - in the SANsymphony Management Console along with the version of QLogic firmware included with the release. Upgrading the DataCore driver and firmware The DataCore Emulex driver and firmware is upgraded whenever the SANsymphony software is upgraded. Notes DataCore Emulex driver Never try to upgrade the driver using other methods (e.g. Emulex s own tools) as this will remove the DataCore driver from the HBA and SANsymphony will no longer be able to detect or use it. If, for example, by accident the DataCore Emulex driver is replaced with a native version, it can easily be re-applied. See the section How to replace a fibre channel driver towards the end of this document. Emulex firmware Unlike QLogic HBAs, it is possible to safely upgrade the Emulex HBA s firmware using Emulex s own tools without removing the DataCore HBA driver. Unless there is a specific reason from Emulex or the Server Vendor, DataCore do not recommend upgrading the Emulex firmware manually. The HBA s BIOS The Emulex BIOS is not included with the DataCore driver. Use the HBA vendor s own tools and processes to upgrade the BIOS to the most current available for the HBA. Page 13

Notes on FC drivers, firmware and BIOS The DataCore 8GB Emulex driver Installing the driver and firmware The version of the DataCore Emulex driver is specific to each SANsymphony release and is displayed - for each DataCore fibre channel port - in the SANsymphony Management Console along with the version of QLogic firmware included with the release. Upgrading the DataCore driver and firmware Only the DataCore Emulex driver is upgraded whenever the SANsymphony software is upgraded. Firmware has to be upgraded independently, see the following notes. Notes DataCore Emulex driver Never try to upgrade the driver using other methods (e.g. Emulex s own tools) as this will remove the DataCore driver from the HBA and SANsymphony will no longer be able to detect or use it. If by accident the DataCore Emulex driver is replaced with a native version, it can easily be reapplied. See the section How to replace a fibre channel driver towards the end of this document. Emulex firmware Unlike QLogic HBAs use Emulex s own tools to upgrade the Emulex firmware for 8GB HBAs. The HBA s BIOS The Emulex BIOS is not included with the DataCore driver. Use the HBA vendor s own tools and processes to upgrade the BIOS to the most current available for the HBA. Also see: Server Port Details Known Issues - Third Party Hardware and Software Page 14

Notes on FC drivers, firmware and BIOS Third-party Emulex or QLogic drivers If a storage vendor requires their own, preferred fibre channel HBA driver to connect their storage arrays to the DataCore Server then use the vendor s own recommended drivers, firmware tools to upgrade/replace any the HBAs connected to the storage arrays after the SANsymphony software has been installed. Notes: HBAs using non-datacore drivers will not be detected by the SANsymphony software, so cannot be used for Front-End (FE) or Mirror (MR) port roles. Page 15

How to replace a fibre channel driver Before you start It might not be necessary to stop the SANsymphony software before replacing a fibre channel driver. However, if the HBA is being used by SANsymphony then the Port Role will determine what additional steps are needed before replacing the driver: Back-end (BE) port connections Physically disconnect the physical disks/storage from the DataCore Server before replacing the fibre channel driver that is managing the connection. DataCore also recommend a manual hardware rescan (i.e. within Windows Device Manager) after the physical disks have been disconnected to make sure that the disk devices are really no longer being seen on those ports to the Windows operating system. Once the HBA driver has been updated, then reconnect the storage and issue the same manual hardware rescan from within Windows Device Manager, to re-detect the physical disks again. Notes: If there is only one Back-end HBA connection to the physical disk, then replacing the HBA driver may, briefly, interrupt the entire Disk Pool and access to some/all Virtual Disks (in that Disk Pool) until the connection to the physical disk has been re-established (i.e. after the HBA driver has been replaced and the physical disk re-connected), so plan this possible downtime accordingly. If there is more than one Back-End HBA connection to the physical disk, then it will be possible to use the remaining connections while each HBA's driver is being updated as SANsymphony can connect to a physical disk using both a third-party driver and a DataCore driver on different HBAs at the same time. However, in this case Back-end failover will not be possible and any third-party MPIO software that the user intends to install cannot be configured until all the connections are using the third-party driver. Please contact Technical Support if you need further clarification. Page 16

How to replace a fibre channel driver before you start Front-end (FE) port connections Never attempt to replace a fibre channel driver on a Front-end port that is being used by one or more Hosts as this will stop them from being able to access any Virtual Disks using the FE port. Always make sure that any FE ports are removed from all Virtual Disk paths first before attempting to replace the driver. Mirror (MR) port connections Never attempt to replace a fibre channel driver on a Mirror port that is being used by a DataCore Server as this will break any mirrored or dual Virtual Disks using the port. Always make sure that any MR ports are removed from all Virtual Disk paths first before attempting to replace the driver. Also see: Modifying Paths HBAs not being used for any connections If the HBA is not being used for any kind of mapping i.e.: For serving Virtual Disks to Hosts For mirroring between DataCore Servers As a connection to a storage array Then the HBA driver can be replaced - as the following procedure further down - without any other consideration. After the driver has been replaced the 'DataCore HBA' will be shown as 'not present' in the SANsymphony Console and can then be safely removed. Mixing DataCore and native drivers on one HBA A fibre channel Host Bus Adapters with more than one port will appear as two separate 'devices' in Windows Device manager and each of these devices can take its own driver. So it is possible to have a single HBA with multiple physical ports each using either a DataCore or third-party driver. Also see: Deleting unavailable server ports Page 17

Replacing the DataCore fibre channel driver Important: Please make sure you have read the previous section 'Before you start' first. 1. Locate and identify the fibre channel device in the operating system From the SANsymphony Console the fibre channel Port s PCI location can be obtained from the Info tab within the Server port Details. Any fibre channel Ports that have the DataCore fibre channel driver installed on them will be listed under DataCore Fibre-Channel Adapters. Right-click on one of the DataCore fibre channel devices and select Properties from the context menu. Page 18

How to replace a DataCore fibre channel driver Under the General tab, the Location field shows the port's PCI location. Locate the Windows device that matches the same PCI Location values as displayed in the SANsymphony console 2. Update the Driver Software Right-click on the device that needs the driver replaced and select Update Driver Software from the context menu. Page 19

How to replace a DataCore fibre channel driver When prompted to Update Driver Software choose the most appropriate way to install the third-party vendor s own driver on the fibre channel device. Please refer to the vendor for this information. Once the third-party fibre channel driver has been installed, the original DataCore Windows device used under the DataCore Fibre-Channel Adapters entry will be removed and the third-party Windows device will appear under Storage controllers. Page 20

How to replace a DataCore fibre channel driver 3. Clean up the SANsymphony Console In the SANsymphony Console, select the Common Actions tab and click the Refresh All button. It may take a few moments for the SANsymphony Console to update the fibre channel port s status. The fibre channel port will now be shown as Not present, and all the values in the Info tab for the port will be zero and the Settings tab will be greyed out. Right-click on the fibre channel port in the SANsymphony Console and from the pop-up menu, select Delete Port. The fibre channel port should now be removed from the SANsymphony Console. Page 21

Replacing a third-party fibre channel driver Important: Please make sure you have read the previous section 'Before you start' first. 1. Locate the correct Storage controller entry in Windows Device Manager. 2. Update the Driver Software Right-click on the device that needs the driver replaced and select Update Driver Software When prompted to Update Driver Software, e.g: Page 22

How to replace a third-party fibre channel driver Select Browse my computer for driver software. In the next window that appears click the Browse button and locate SANsymphony s Install directory (typically this will be located in C:\Program Files\DataCore\SANsymphony\Install). Click Next. Once the new fibre channel driver has been installed the device will be removed from under Storage controllers in Device Manager and should appear under DataCore Fibre-Channel Adapters. Page 23

How to replace a third-party fibre channel driver 3. Clean up the SANsymphony Console In the SANsymphony Console, select the Common Actions tab and click the Refresh All button. Be patient. It may take a few moments for the SANsymphony Console to update the new fibre channel port s status. The fibre channel port will appear with the default settings - all port roles assigned and with a default fibre channel port name. The fibre channel port is now ready to use within SANsymphony. Page 24

Troubleshooting What if the DataCore driver does not bind to the fibre channel HBA? Check for one of the following: DataCore list the HBA is as having a Known Issue Also see: Known Issue - Third-party hardware and software The HBA was added after SANsymphony had already been installed The DataCore fibre channel Driver will need to be loaded manually. Please refer to the section 'How to replace a third-party fibre channel driver'. The HBA's PCI Hardware ID is not recognized by the SANsymphony installer If the DataCore software cannot identify the Hardware ID from its own known PCI Vendor ID lists, then it will not allow the DataCore driver to be used. In this case, provide the following information to DataCore Technical Support for further advice: i. A standard SANsymphony support bundle from the DataCore Server. ii. iii. The Model and Part Number as described by the OEM vendor. Provide as much information as possible, especially if the HBA was not ordered directly from Emulex or QLogic. The HBA's Windows Hardware ID From within Windows Computer Management, locate the fibre channel HBA under Storage Controllers and then right-click on it and select Properties, then in the Details tab select Hardware Ids from the Property pull-down menu. Here is an example: Page 25

How to replace a third-party fibre channel driver What if the HBA is not listed in this document? Never assume that the DataCore software will recognize an OEM Branded HBA as its Non- OEM branded equivalent or that just because an HBA has 'QLogic' written on the HBA that it will be recognized as a QLogic HBA. For example, while the 'Cisco QLE2672-CSC' uses the QLogic 267x chipset it will identify itself to the DataCore Server as something specific to 'Cisco' and not QLogic. If a non-oem adaptor is listed as not supported its OEM equivalent will always be considered as not supported as well. Can I use a fibre channel HBA without the DataCore driver installed? Yes. It is important to understand though that any fibre channel HBA models not listed (or marked as not supported ) can still be used as a connection to the Storage Array using the Storage Vendor s own preferred HBA driver. In this case, the fibre channel HBA will not be available in the SANsymphony Console and the Storage Array will appear to the DataCore Server as if it was directly attached. DataCore s Redundant Back-end Path Failover will not be available and it may not be possible to trigger events or monitor performance metrics on these connections using the DataCore Server s own tools. However the storage vendor s own preferred MPIO software can be used instead. For more information on this see: Storage Hardware Guideline for use with DataCore Servers Can I install the DataCore fibre channel driver on any Windows Server? No. The DataCore Fibre Channel driver can only be used by the SANsymphony software. Also see: Known Issue - Third-party hardware and software Page 26

FCoE and ISCSI HBAs DataCore do not provide initiator or target drivers for either iscsi or Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) 'HBAs'. So these types of hardware cannot be configured for any SANsymphony port roles. These HBAs can still be used as a connection to the Storage Array using the Storage Vendor s own preferred driver. In this case the HBA will not be available in the SANsymphony Console and the Storage Array will appear to the DataCore Server as if it was directly attached. DataCore s Redundant Back-end Path Failover will not be available and it may not be possible to trigger events or monitor performance metrics on these connections using the DataCore Server s own tools. However the storage vendor s own preferred MPIO software can be used instead. Also see Storage Hardware Guideline for use with DataCore Servers Page 27

Network Cards Applies to all NIC speeds 1, 10, 40, 50 and 100GbE NICs that can be used either for management communication or iscsi initiator/target connections are not qualified but DataCore will generally support any NIC assuming it is not listed as not being supported in the 'Known Issues - Third Party Hardware and Software' document. Always use the NIC Vendor s latest BIOS/firmware and drivers. Also see: Known Issue - Third-party hardware and software Page 28

Storage Arrays DataCore Software does not qualify Storage Arrays from specific Storage Vendors. Any Storage Array that is capable of providing SCSI-based disk devices to Microsoft Windows can be used with SANsymphony. Storage Arrays that present disk devices that are marked as removable within Windows' Disk Management cannot be used. Some Storage Arrays may have specific configuration requirements to make them function correctly with SANsymphony; for more information about this, including Shared Multi-port Array Storage, using third-party fibre channel connections and failover software see Also see Storage Hardware Guideline for use with DataCore Servers Page 29

SAN and IP Switches DataCore do not qualify SAN or IP switches but will support any switch not currently listed as having any 'Known Issues'. Always use the Switch Vendor s latest BIOS/firmware. Also see: Known Issue - Third-party hardware and software Page 30

Host server hardware qualification Fibre channel HBAs DataCore do not qualify fibre channel host bus adaptors for Hosts but will support any HBA not listed as having a 'Known Issue'. Always use the Vendor s latest BIOS/firmware and drivers and refer to the Hardware Vendor s own documentation. FCoE and iscsi HBAs DataCore do not qualify fibre channel over Ethernet (FCoE) or iscsi adaptors for Hosts but will support any HBA not listed as having a 'Known Issue'. Always use the Vendor s latest BIOS/firmware and drivers and refer to the Hardware Vendor s own documentation. Network Cards DataCore do not qualify Host-based NICs but will support any NIC not listed as having a 'Known Issue'. This applies to all NIC speeds 1, 10, 40, 50 and 100GbE. Always use the Vendor s latest BIOS/firmware and drivers and refer to the Hardware Vendor s own documentation. Page 31

Previous changes Added Fibre Channel HBAs - Emulex Added support for 32GB/s HBAs with SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 7 Update 2 May 2018 Fibre Channel HBAs - QLogic Added note for all HBAs that are only supported with 10.0 PSP 7 or later. Users with DataCore Servers still running Windows 2008 should contact Customer Support who will be able to help with providing the appropriate software for the QLogic HBA. Fibre Channel HBAs - Emulex the information regarding 16GB/s HBAs Support for 32GB/s HBAs with SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 7 Update 2 End users that were already using DataCore's 16GB/s Emulex fibre channel driver before October 2016 (and were therefore supported by DataCore) should upgrade to PSP 7 Update 2 as soon as it is available. Fibre Channel HBAs Emulex and QLogic OEM Vendors are now listed underneath each of these HBA manufacturers rather than the other way around. This should make it easier to locate a specific model or part # for a given OEM. Notes on fibre channel driver, firmware and BIOS This entire section has been updated to include information specific to SANsymphony 10 PSP 7 Update 2 and Emulex fibre channel HBAs February 2018 Fibre Channel HBAs - Regarding all Emulex 16GB HBAs A footnote throughout the document stated that existing end-users that were already using DataCore's 16GB/s Emulex fibre channel driver 'before June 2017' would still be supported. This was incorrect. The note should have said 'before October 2016' This has now been corrected. Added Fibre Channel HBAs: Agilent, ATTO, Brocade and LSI - not supported with the DataCore Fibre Channel driver. HP branded - SN1000E - 16GB/s - not supported with the DataCore Fibre Channel driver. Lenovo branded QLogic and Emulex families December 2017 Four new sections have been added: Fibre channel driver firmware and BIOS notes This contains information that was already stated in this document, but was not all in one place. Troubleshooting fibre channel driver issues This contains information that was already stated in this document, but was not all in one place. How to replace a fibre channel driver The information in this section has been copied (and updated) from the document: 'Managing fibre channel drivers in a DataCore Server' - previously available from: Fibre channel HBAs This section has been re-structured to take into account an enhancement in SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 7. The SANsymphony will be able to bind the DataCore QLogic fibre channel driver to any QLogic HBAs in a DataCore Server. Previously the driver would only be allowed to bind to HBAs that could be matched that matched from a 'known' list of maintained PCI_VENDOR strings held internally within the SANsymphony software, and any QLogic HBAs that were not in this list would be prohibited from using the DataCore QLogic fibre channel driver. Users that are Page 32

Previous changes running versions of SANsymphony earlier than 10.0 PSP 7, please refer as before, to the tables for the list of QLogic HBAs that are supported using the DataCore QLogic fibre channel driver. This enhancement does not apply to Emulex HBAs. Please refer as before, to the tables for the list of Emulex HBAs that are supported using the DataCore Emulex fibre channel driver. June 2017 Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs - 16GB (all Vendors) An additional statement has been added regarding these HBAs with regard to Emulex Driver/Firmware versions. Important: Customers already using the DataCore Emulex fibre channel driver on this family of Emulex HBAs, will continue to be supported but they must not use the firmware that is included with any version 11.x Emulex driver package. Use only the firmware that is provided with the most current version 10.x Emulex driver package. Removed Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs - LPe11000-M4, LPe11002-M4, LPe111 and LPe1150 These HBAs could not take the DataCore fibre channel Driver and are documented as 'Discontinued' by Emulex. QLogic Branded fibre channel HBAs - All 2Gbps HBAs (22xx and 23xx) These HBAs are 'Discontinued' by QLogic. Added Dell Inc. 16GB QLogic Branded fibre channel HBAs Manufacturing Part #: YH1DK - SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 6 Update 2 and greater April 2017 Added Dell Inc. 32GB QLogic Branded fibre channel HBAs Part #: 0T3TK5 - SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 6 Update 2 and greater March 2017 What if a listed HBA does not load the DataCore Driver? This section has been updated for clarity to help identify problems that users may encounter when an HBA does not automatically load the DataCore HBA driver. Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs - LPe12000 This entry has now been changed to 'LPe1200x' to cover all single, dual and quad port configurations of this model that are available. Added Hewlett Packard 8GB Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs 84E SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 6 or later November 2016 Hewlett Packard 4GB Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs FC2242SR - Even though SANsymphony may still assign a DataCore driver to HBA, it is now considered 'End of Life' by Emulex so will no longer be supported in a DataCore Server. Page 33

Previous changes October 2016 Emulex Branded 16GB fibre channel HBAs - All 16GB Models LPe16000-M6, LPe16002-M6, LPe16004-M6, LPe16004-M6-EI, LPe16000B-M6, LPe16002B-M6 and LPe16202-x Fujitsu 16GB Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs - All 16GB Models LPe16000B-M6-F and LPe16002B-M6-F Hewlett Packard 16GB Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs All SN1100E models All of the above HBAs are not supported. Customers that are already using the DataCore Emulex fibre channel driver with these HBAs in their DataCore Servers will continue to be supported. These HBAs can still be used with the native driver as a connection to a Storage Array. September 2016 QLogic Branded fibre channel HBAs - 22xx and 23xx These HBAs are considered 'end of life' by QLogic and will no longer be supported using the DataCore fibre channel Driver after December 31st Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs LPe12000, LPe15002B-M8 and LPe15004-M8 This entry previously stated: "Existing customers only: Before upgrading to SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5 (no update) please refer to the SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5 Release notes." SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5 Update 1 fixed the problem that this note was for - this note has now been removed. Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs LPe111 and LPe1150 These HBAs were never supported with the DataCore fibre channel driver and are now considered end of life by Emulex. Added QLogic Branded fibre channel HBAs 16GB QLE2694L Now supported with SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5 Update 2 and greater August 2016 Added QLogic Branded fibre channel HBAs 32GB QLE274X and QLE2694U Now supported with SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5 and greater July 2016 Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs LPe16xxx 16GB Use Emulex Firmware 10.x versions only. LPe12xxx and LPe15xxx 8GB Existing customers only: Before upgrading to SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5 (no update) please refer to the SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5 Release notes. Page 34

Previous changes May 2016 QLogic 269x This chipset is not supported until SANsymphony 10.0 PSP 5. Note: This had previously been incorrectly listed as being supported with SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 4 Update 1 and greater. April 2016 Emulex Branded fibre channel HBAs LPe11000-M4 and LPe11002-M4 These HBAs are now considered 'end of life' by Emulex and will no longer be supported using the DataCore fibre channel Driver after September 30th OEM Branded fibre channel HBAs Hewlett Packard - FC2242SR These HBA is now considered 'end of life' by Emulex and will no longer be supported using the DataCore fibre channel Driver after September 30th Added QLogic Branded HBAs 269x SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 4 Update 1 and greater March 2016 OEM Branded fibre channel HBAs IBM - QMI2582 Supported with SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 4 Update 1 and greater. This is an 8GB QLogic OEM-branded HBA Cisco QLE2672-CSC Supported with SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 4 Update 1 or later. This is a 16GB QLogic OEM-branded HBA. OEM Branded fibre channel HBAs Hewlett-Packard SN1000Q Supported with SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 4 Update 1 and greater. This is a 16GB QLogic OEM-branded HBA Note: This HBA was previously and incorrectly listed as being supported with SANsymphony-V 9.0 PSP 4 Update 1 and any version of 10.x Page 35

Previous changes 2015 and Earlier September OEM Branded fibre channel HBAs Hewlett Packard - SN1000E This card is not supported with the DataCore fibre channel driver. Ii can still be used as a connection to the Storage Array but with the Storage Vendor s preferred HBA driver. Note: This card was incorrectly marked as being supported. April Added OEM Branded fibre channel HBAs Hewlett Packard - SN1000E This is supported for use with the DataCore fibre channel driver using SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 2 and greater OEM Branded fibre channel HBAs Hewlett Packard - SN1100E2P This was incorrectly stated as being supported with SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 1 Update 1 and greater This listing now includes all SN1100E models but is only supported for use with the DataCore fibre channel driver using SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 2 and greater. Hewlett Packard - 81E and 82E These were incorrectly stated as being QLogic OEM-branded HBAs when they are in fact Emulex OEM-branded HBAS and are 8GB not 16GB as previously documented. March Added The DataCore Server Storage Arrays A new section. OEM Branded fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors Emulex The generic entries for LPe15004 and LPe16xxx have been replaced with a more explicit list of models that are supported as of SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 1 Update 1. OEM Branded fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors Fujitsu LPe12000-M8-FJ, LPe16000B-M6-F and LPe16002B-M6-F All are supported with SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 1 Update 1 and greater Hewlett Packard - SN1100E2P This is supported with SANsymphony-V 10.0 PSP 1 Update 1 and greater The DataCore Server - fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors The information in this section has been completely updated with more explanatory notes and information. The old list of OEM HBA vendors that would not take the SANsymphony-V driver has been removed and is now covered in the new information at the start of this section. The following entries have been moved from the Emulex non-oem Branded section to their relevant OEM Branded sections: Page 36

Previous changes Fujitsu - MC-FC82E (LPe1205-F Blade) -. IBM 95Y2375 (LPe1205A-IBM) supported with SANsymphony-V 10.x or 9.0 PSP 3 and greater Oracle SG-XPCIE2FC-ATCA-Z (LPeA11002-S) supported with SANsymphony-V 10.x or 9.0 PSP 4 Removed The following entries have been removed: Emulex - LP9000, LP9800 and LP10000 These are HBAs that no longer are supported by Emulex. QLogic - QL*22xx and QL*23xx These HBAs are no longer are supported by QLogic. While it is possible these older HBAs will still be recognized by SANsymphony-V (and that the DataCore fibre channel driver will be loaded) DataCore recommend that they are not used for any critical applications as the adaptors firmware was never updated for use in the later versions of the Windows Operating System and so may affect the overall reliability of these in some situations that are out of control of SANsymphony-V. July 2014 Added fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors Emulex Corp. Added entries for LPe15004 and LPe16xxx. Removed General All references to SANsymphony 7 have been removed. January 2014 DataCore Server - fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors Hewlett Packard SN1000Q series. The HBA was erroneously listed as being supported in a DataCore Server for the DataCore fibre channel Driver in SANsymphony-V 9.0 PSP 4. However while the chipset was supported the PCI_VENDOR strings were not recognized by the installer and so SANsymphony-V was not able to bind the DataCore Driver. This has now been fixed in SANsymphony-V 9.0 PSP 4 Update 1 and re-documented accordingly. December 2013 Added DataCore Server - fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors A new section On OEM Branded fibre channel HBAs Cisco Systems Inc EMC Corp. Hitachi Data Systems NetApp Inc. Oracle Corp. DataCore Server - fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors Hewlett Packard SN1000Q series (Typo. Was previously listed as an SN10000Q) June 2013 Combined the two documents: DataCore Server fibre channel HBAs and Host fibre channel over Ethernet CNAs together. Page 37

Previous changes Added An Overview section explaining, in detail, the difference between unqualified and unsupported. Added more explicit clarifications for other hardware components such as fibre channel over Ethernet CNAs for DataCore Servers, Network Interface Cards, iscsi HBAs etc. - including vendors that are not (and have never been) supported with the DataCore Server port drivers. Likewise, more explicit clarifications regarding Host servers and the same hardware components have also been added. DataCore Server - fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors Dell Inc. 0187V / TC40H, and 9J1RG / 7JKH4 (these are QLogic Model numbers QLE 2662 now supported with SANsymphony-V 9.0 PSP 4) Emulex LPeA11002-S Hewlett Packard SN1000Q series (this is a QLogic Model numbers QLE 2662 now supported with SANsymphony-V 9.0 PSP 4) DataCore Server - fibre channel Host Bus Adaptors Emulex LPe11000x is now two separate entries: LP(e)11000-M4 and LP(e)11002-M4 Emulex LP1150 is now LP(e)1150 QLogic QLE 26xx is now QLE 267x Host Server - fibre channel over Ethernet CNAs All fibre channel over Ethernet CNAs are, like fibre channel HBAs considered supported unless explicitly stated (including in the Known Issues document) July 2013 Added HP (Emulex) HP-LPe1205A. June 2013 Added QLogic 26xx HBA HP FC2142SR Emulex LPe1150 QLE824x. December 2012 Removed QLogic 22xx This HBA is no longer supported for SANsymphony-V 9.x October 2012 Added Emulex/HP LPe1205-HP HBA. July 2012 Verified for SANsymphony-V 9.x. No new information added. Page 38

Previous changes December 2011 Emulex LP(e) 111, LPe1250 and LPe12xxx HBAs November 2011 Removed References to End of Life SANsymphony and SANmelody versions that are no longer supported as of July Added mistakenly deleted references to QLE* HBAs. Added Emulex OCe11102-FX CAN. February 2011 Added SANsymphony-V R8.0 PSP 1.
