13 S-Mode proposal CIRM developed S-Mode technical proposal Accepted into draft IMO S-Mode Guidelines At NCSR 5, IMO approved direction of draft CIRM s contributions widely recognised Correspondence Group further developing S-Mode Guidelines for approval in 2019

14 Promotion of CIRM S-Mode proposal

15 Industry Standard on SW Maintenance Developed with BIMCO over 3 years Promotes standardisation of shipboard SW maintenance across stakeholders At NCSR 5, IMO acknowledged importance of work and delegations voiced support BIMCO and CIRM encourage their members to adopt the Industry Standard

20 Cyber Risk Working Group (WG-CYBER) Developed draft CIRM Cyber Risk Code of Practice across four drafting cycles WG convenor liaising regularly with BIMCO & IACS on cyber security matters

21 ECDIS Working Group (WG-ECDIS) Developed initial draft of the first ever CIRM Guideline: Performance Test Procedure for ECDIS Provided significant assistance to customer associations & IMO on ECDIS updating issues Future: Route Exchange, Met/Hydro ASMs, ECDIS updating, etc.

22 E-navigation Working Group (WG-ENAV) Contributed to development of IMO E-nav guidelines: Guidelines for the harmonized display of navigation information received via communications equipment Future: more work to arise from updated Strategy Implementation Plan (Draft MSC Circular)?

23 Radar Working Group (WG-RADAR) Developed response to IALA Liaison Note: On the effect of Racons in busy harbours Contributed input to IMO Polar Code consequential work: General guidance for navigation and communication equipment intended for use on ships operating in polar waters Future: further consideration of Racons and SARTS

24 Radiocomms Working Group (WG-RCOMMS) Produced two reply liaison statements to ITU WP5B: Autonomous Maritime Radio Devices (AMRDs) Resetting own-ship MMSI Developed CIRM position on SARTs (Radar vs. AIS) Developed CIRM response to LTE/L-band interference

25 S-Mode Working Group (WG-SMODE) Fantastic response to CTO s call to action last year! S-Mode proposal developed with great effort Keeping an eye on S-Mode Guidelines, poised to spring back into action this summer

26 Type Approval Working Group (WG-TAPPROVAL) Provided input to 2 nd draft Implementing Regulation WG convenor directly participating in MED Experts Group and MarED Future: input to next annual update to MED IR

28 Annual Technical Workshop CIRM technical workload increasing Working by correspondence is challenging Working Groups would benefit from face-to-face discussions Proposal will be put to AGM later today..

29 CIRM website improvements Planned for summer 2018 (depending on workload!) Feature list constructed from member feedback Under consideration: Improved login system Individual user profiles Download documents in batch Etc.

30 CIRM User Feedback Forum Established more than 2 years ago Users and customers love the concept, but why are manufacturers not using it? Massive opportunity for CIRM members

32 Working Group aims for the meeting Working Group 1 (Radiocommunications) will review its recent activity and consider what work lies ahead Working Group 2 (Cyber Risk) will continue development of Code of Practice, including consideration of general direction Working Group 3 (ECDIS) will finalise CIRM Guideline and consider a number of other ECDIS matters
