5 Independently Certified, Safe and Secure Dedicated exclusively to the protection of computer and digital media, First Federal s environmentally controlled, high-security vaults are an essential component in the most secure network of off-site storage facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our primary facilities are located in Gaithersburg, MD and Bethlehem, PA. First Federal s vaults are independently certified to meet a higher combination of physical security, fire protection, environmental control and magnetic shielding standards than any others in the nation. Equipped with fully redundant electrical and mechanical services and reserve power generation, our facilities are designed and built to assure uninterrupted operations and security. Physical Security First Federal s off-site media storage vaults are situated in single-story, unmarked, secure sites designed to eliminate single-point-of-failure risks in any critical service area. Static Magnetic Field Protection Continuous ferromagnetic plating creates fully shielded enclosures that meet NIST standards for protecting magnetic media against erasure by static magnetic fields. Fire Security First Federal s off-site media storage vaults are built and independently certified to the NFPA hour fire resistance standard. Fire detection, suppression and alarm systems for media storage vaults are independent of those protecting the balance of the facilities. Environmental Control Advanced environmental controls maintain correct temperature, humidity and positive static air pressure inside each vault. High efficiency filters and central vacuum systems keep interior air free of contaminants, while moisture-resistant epoxy membrane barriers seal each vault enclosure to further protect client media. Electronic Security Redundant, high-grade electronic security systems to manage badging and facility access are provided and are suitable for both commercial and secure government clients. Reserve Power In the event of a utility failure, the full building electrical load is automatically transferred to standby generator power provisioned with a one-week, onsite fuel supply.

First Federal maintains full compliance with key standards, including: PCI First Federal is independently certified to meet Payment Card Industry (PCI) Council Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Version 2.0 as of November 2013 by a listed PCI auditor. Clients may request a copy of the full PCI audit report. SSAE 16 (SOC2) First Federal annually publishes a fully compliant SSAE 16 SOC2 report. SOC2 audits replace the former SAS 70 Type II standard, improving requirements for service providers to demonstrate that their internal controls relating to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality as well as the privacy of their systems meet pre-defined principles and criteria established by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Trust Services. SOC2 has become the objective certification standard for offsite data storage service providers. Clients may request a copy of First Federal s October 2013 full report. 9 Transporting Media Securely, Around the Clock Because you may need access to your media at any time, First Federal provides scheduled rotation and two-hour emergency delivery services 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. When your media is ready to be picked up or delivered, First Federal uses its own trained and bonded couriers operating its own climate-controlled, unmarked vehicles to perform secure transportation. Standard media containers, constructed of 22 gauge or heavier steel, are included at no charge. Customized equipment is also available. Couriers receive extensive training in First Federal s advanced security procedures. Couriers are required to verify client ID badges at every pick-up and delivery event. First Federal will issue a tamper-resistant photo ID badge to each of your employees participating in the media storage program. These ID badges contain a security code used to confirm the authority of the holder to accept or disburse media. CMS helps you to help prevent unauthorized media access with easy-to-apply rules that let you restrict any employee s media transfer permissions based on time of day or type of activity. Barcode capture enters every transfer into your CMS inventory for the most up-to-date audit trail and chain of custody.
