On November 21, 2013, FERC Order 788 (referred to as Paragraph 81) approved the retiring of the reliability standard requirements. Reliability standard is superseded by CIP as of the CIP effective date. Reliability standard is superseded by CIP as of the CIP effective date. BC Hydro recommends that the CIP reliability standard be held in abeyance and be of no force or effect in BC due to technical suitability issues that will not improve reliability and instead place undue burden on responsible entities. When adopted by FERC, the NERC approved CIP-003-7(i) reliability standard will retire CIP CIP-003-7(i) is anticipated to be assessed in the next MRS Assessment Report.
