1 SPECTRUM Data Center Manager Software Release Notice Aprisma strongly recommends that you read this notice before attempting to install or use the Data Center Manager product. Welcome to Data Center Manager, SPECTRUM s Unix and PC-based Service Provider solution designed to allow Network Operations Center (NOC) personnel to reliably and effectively manage transport layer devices at remote Data Centers where there is no on-site IT staff. Data Center Manager is available in three different packages for managing up to 50, 100, or 250 devices. Each package provides a comprehensive suite of LAN management functionality specific to Service Provider network and uses the same patented multivendor fault isolation technology that SPECTRUM Enterprise Manager uses to manage the largest global networks. 2 System Requirements for Solaris Processor: Operating System: Solaris 7, Solaris 8 Memory: Storage: Web Browser: Web Server: UltraSPARC I at 167 MHz minimum UltraSPARC II at 450 MHz recommended 512 MB RAM minimum 1280 MB RAM recommended 1GB of disk space for program; 12 GB recommended (also see Note below) Netscape 4.5 or later with the Java 1.2 run-time environment and plug-in Web server required; the Apache web server included on the self-extracting Web Operator archive is recommended. System Requirements for Windows NT Processor: Intel Pentium III at 500 MHz minimum Intel Pentium III at 733 MHz recommended Operating System: Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 5 or higher, Windows 2000 Memory: Storage: Web Browser: Web Server: 512 MB RAM minimum 1280 MB RAM recommended 1GB of disk space for program; 12 GB recommended (also see Note below) Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 or Netscape 4.5 or later with Java 1.2 runtime environment and plug-in Web Server required; the Microsoft IIS available on Windows NT CD-ROM is recommended. 3 Installation Requirements If this is an initial installation, you can follow the instructions in the brochure accompanying the SPECTRUM 6.0rev1 Application CD-ROM, or, if you prefer, you can load the enclosed SPECTRUM 6.0rev1 Documentation CD-ROM and access the SPECTRUM Installation Guide, which provides a detailed description of the installation program s graphical user interface and explains post-installation tasks you may need to perform before starting SpectroSERVER for the first time. If you are upgrading to SPECTRUM 6.0rev1 from a previous version, you will find a spiral-bound copy of the Installation Guide enclosed within this distribution package. It is essential that you refer to the Before Installing SPECTRUM section of this manual before proceeding with the installation. The SPECTRUM 6.0rev1Web Operator Suite is not part of the distribution CD and must be downloaded. Please contact Aprisma Customer Service at to obtain access to the Web Operator Suite download.
