Explain how you will change the BUTTON design so as to avoid the runtime errors. (5 Marks) (b) Explain what other changes are required in the form to successfully insert a new record. (2 Marks) Page 8 of 14
9 (c) The name of the blocks and its items name are also given below. (3 Marks) (iii) The SAVE button when clicked should save the record in the DEPARTMENTS table. The code should also cater for showing the values in the DEPARTMENTS_VIEW_BLOCK once the record is inserted successfully. It should also display an appropriate message in the status bar of the form as shown on the next page. (6 Marks) Page 9 of 14
10 (iv) The UPDATE button when clicked should update the record in the DEPARTMENTS table. The code should also cater for showing the updated values in the DEPARTMENTS_VIEW_BLOCK once the record is updated successfully. The code should also display an appropriate message in the status bar of the form. (7 Marks) (v) The DELETE button when clicked should delete the record in the DEPARTMENTS table. The code should also cater for removing the deleted values from the DEPARTMENTS_VIEW_BLOCK once the record is deleted successfully. The code should also display an appropriate message in the status bar of the form. (5 Marks) Page 10 of 14
