Define the problem - Work with students on DEFINING THE PROBLEM. Exactly what are you being asked to do? You do not want your students spending hours on a project only to find out that they are not solving the correct problem. c. Define the parts of the problem - Everyone is not going to work on the same task at the same time. In the case of the web programming assignment, the main tasks might be broken down as. 1. The User Interface HTML pages 2. Client Side Scripting 3. Server Side Scripting 4. Database Creation (if needed) 5. Project Manager ii. Practice with your team on defining roles based on strengths. This should be done BEFORE the competition. What roles are needed? Is there a back up to each role? d. Plan the solution - Break the project down into manageable components. Develop an outline for use in completing the task. e. Assign Tasks - Make the most of your team and time management Now you know what tasks have to be completed, assign them to someone. f. Complete and Combine - Use outline and assigned tasks to complete project. Now move to coding and testing. Your PM should manage the group including the timeline. H. Configurations a.
