3 Overview TIO Networks (a PayPal company) is a financial services company that services some of the largest telecom, wireless, cable, and utility bill issuers in North America - companies like AT&T, Cox Communications, Cricket Wireless, and Dish Networks. 16M TIO s payment processing platform integrates with back-office billing systems, to enable billers to post payments accurately and quickly to the appropriate customer accounts. Last year TIO handled more than 16 million consumer bill pay accounts and processed over 60 million transactions totaling $7-billion USD in consumer bill payments. 4 Challenge TIO Networks use of 360Science was threefold Create a single customer view for M&A, Business Intelligence, and Customer Analytics. TIO Networks had acquired several companies, and at the time they partnered with 360Science, were themselves in the midst of being acquired by PayPal. Unified data was central to determine how to effectively merge these businesses, and roll-out the new strategy. Analyzing customer data across their various systems was the critical first step to TIO being able to accurately see how each of their products is performing and gain a better understanding of where are our best markets, where are we under-invested and where are we over-interested?

5 Challenge Before implementing 360Science TIO relied on Microsoft s conventional data matching tools with fuzzy lookups, regular expressions, matchkeys and SQL queries. The problem was, it wasn t getting the job done. Even with a significant amount of time setting up matching processes, SSIS tasks, and a lot of time invested in analyzing results - it was clear Microsoft s fuzzy matching was failing to meet TIO Networks expectations. Processing millions of transactions at so many locations across the country means every single day they see variations in the customer data streaming into their systems. Our existing systems weren t able to get a comprehensive dedupe when trying to create a set of distinct geographical locations we do business in, so we were simply not able to get the data matching done to our standards. Says Amir. TIO Networks uses Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL is our data warehouse.

With SSIS as their existing ETL tool, 360Science for Microsoft SQL Server (aka msql) was a quick and simple implementation. It completely eliminated any security or learning concerns. It s what we were already using, only with better matching technology built-in, adds Amir, and a big reason for us choosing 360Science was we were able to just slot msql into our SSIS activities.

8 Conclusion 360Science s simple implementation meant TIO Networks was quickly able to get an accurate picture of their customers, an understanding of their national footprint, and the value of their M&A activities. Amir adds, if we had tried to accomplish this project prior to 360Science, and attempted this location deduping effort, it would have been a much harder undertaking. Now we re able to layer in all sorts of really cool dashboards and helpful analytics.
