2 The BVE-6QO was designed with easy operation and effective editing in mind. The wellaccepted two dial operation style, popularized by the BVE-800, provides both players and the recorder with instant picture search capability and offers quick and precise access to editing points with a minimum of keystrokes. The plug-in video switcher option offers wipe, dissolve, and title superimpose, thus making it possible to perform simple A/B roll editing without the need for an external switchel: An audio mixer interface for controlling the MXP-29/VSP-A600 is also available. Incorporated with these and many more features, the BVE-6QO is an ideal tool for use in combination with U-matic and Betacam VTRs, offering one of the most compact A/B roll systems available with the utmost in cost performance.

3 Main Features Two Search Dial Operation The well-accepted BVE-800 style dual search dials realize quick and easy access to the desired video/audio editing points. Optional Plug-in Switchers BKE-611 (NTSC Composite)/BKE-621 (NTSC Component/Composite switchable) BKE-612 (PAL Composite)/BKE-622 (PAL Component/ Composite switchable) By selecting from one of the four plug-in type optional switcher boards, the BVE-600 can be integrated into either a composite A/B roll editing suite or a component (BetacamTM) A/B roll editing suite. Supported by the full switching functions of the optional plug-in switchers, various types of editing with effects can be performed without the use of an external video switcher. Aud io M ixer I nterface The Sony MXP-29NSP-A600 can be connected to the BVE-600 via the parallel audio mixer interface. With this facility, "audio.follow-video" operation becomes available. Split Edit Video/audio independent in-point setting can be performed with the BVE-600. Video based or audio based split editing can be performed to offer variety and flexibility to your editing. Dynamic Motion Control Editing of noiseless slow or fast motion pictures can be performed when using VTRs equipped with the Dynamic Tracking (DT)TM function. G PI Ports Two GPI (general purpose interface) ports are available as a s1andard. Interface with various external equipment will be possible via this port.

6 Functions of the Optional Plug-in Switchers According to the needs and video systems used, either composite or component/composite switcher boards for both NTSC and PAL can be selected. The variety of functions and effects mentioned below is available from a single BVE-600 unit with optional switcher boards inserted. BKE-611 /612 (Composite Switcher Board) BKE-621/622 (Component/Composite Switcher Board) Status Display Current tape position of the VTRs and various edit data can be superimposed onto the main monitor. Background Generator Background signals with luminance, chrominance and hue adjustments as well as color bar and black signals can be generated. The border color of the wipe pattern can also be varied in the same way as the background color. Ten Wipe Patterns Wipe effect transitions can be performed for A/B roll edits. One out of ten wipe patterns can be selected. Furthermore, a border-line or soft edge can be added to the wiping edges. Dissolve Dissolve effect transitions can be performed for A/B roll edits. It provides a softer impression during the transition from one scene to another than obtained from a simple cut edit. Superimpose Title superimpose can be performed by connecting external sources, such as character generators, to the BVE-600's switcher board.

7 BVE-600 with VSP-A600 The VSP-A600 is a simple audio mixer specially designed to be integrated into a BVE-600 system. A built-in editor interface enables remote control from the BVE-600 providing audio-follow-video. the AUX inputs. Independent level control of line out and monitor out is possible with this mixer. The VSP-A600 is only 1-U high and designed to be set on the top panel of the BVE-600 for convenient operation in limited space.
