1 Segmentation SEND TARGETED CAMPAIGNS WITH SEGMENTS. A whole new way to send campaigns! Follow-up with people who clicked on a specific link in your last campaign. Reengage with people who didn t open or click any campaign in the past 12 months. Segment your lists by any data you ve imported, including preferences, demographic data, or location. Tessitura users can also segment by source number. Just add your requirements and only subscribers who meet the criteria will receive the campaign. Who will receive the campaign? See how many people meet the requirements. Segment name Add a name if you d like to save it for use in future campaigns. Segment types Combine any or all of the three types to build your segment. Your requirements Add as many requirements as necessary to define your segment. > PAGE 1

2 Quick Start // To send a campaign to a new segment of your list 1. In a standard campaign, browse to the Subscribers step. Import or select your list. 2. Click Segment your list in the Other things you can do menu 3. Click Create a new segment 4. Select which type of requirement you d like to add: Data Field, Event, or Tessitura Source Number 5. Use the dropdowns to define the details. When you re ready, click Add to Segment. 6. (Optional) Repeat steps 4 and 5 as needed 7. Select whether Any or All of the requirements must be met in order to include a person in a segment 8. (Optional) Name the segment if you want to save it to reuse in future campaigns 9. Click Apply to list. When you send your campaign, only the subscribers who meet the requirements will be included. 10. If you want to see who meets the criteria, click Export segment in the Other things you can do menu How does it work? You ll find the Segment feature on the Subscribers step when you re creating a standard campaign. First select or import a list, then build your segment. When you ve defined all of the requirements, apply it to your list. You ll see how many people meet the criteria and will receive your . You can also go back and edit the segment as needed or give it a name if you d like to apply it to future campaigns. Then just send or schedule your campaign as usual. Building your segment There are three types of requirements you can segment by: Data Field, Event, and Tessitura Source Number. You can combine any or all of them to make more finetuned segments. SEGMENTING BY DATA FIELD With this type, you can segment by any data you ve imported into WordFly, allowing you to target your subscribers based on demographic data, preferences, or geographic location, for example. You ll be presented with three fields: The first dropdown displays all the data fields from your library. The second dropdown is used to compare the data field to the value entered in the third field The third field contains the criteria for the requirement > PAGE 2

3 SEGMENTING BY WORDFLY EVENTS This option lets you target your subscribers based on how they have responded to previous campaigns. Segment by whether they did or did not Open, Click, Forward, or Bounce. You ll be presented with a series of dropdowns: Select whether the event did or did not occur Select the WordFly event type Add a specific date range, if desired Select whether the event happened on a specific campaign, any campaign, or any campaign with one or more specific labels (Click events only) Select one or more links, if desired SEGMENTING BY TESSITURA SOURCE NUMBER If you re a Tessitura user, you ll see this option. We ll scan your list and if there are multiple source numbers associated with it, you ll have the option to select which source number you d like to segment by. If your list doesn t contain a source number or if it only contains one, we ll let you know that, too. > PAGE 3

Reward people who forwarded any campaigns labeled Marketing in the past 6 months Follow-up with VIPs who didn t open or didn t click on an invitation to a big event Target Washington state residents who opened any campaign in the past 3 months Send a traffic update to people in a certain postal code who are attending an event Reengage with people who didn t Open or Click any campaign in the past 12 months Send only to people who had a specific Tessitura source number in your list > PAGE 4

5 Applying saved list segments On the initial view of the Segment page, you ll see any saved list segments you ve already built. Select one and click Apply to list to use it. To add a segment here for future use, click Create a new segment and give it a name.
