5 Top BDII Conclusions A number of sites barely below target and this happens quite a few months ago. The real bad ones are either being decommissioned, using someone else s BDII now or have a HA setup now. There is one to watch out for: Bulgaria

6 Top BDII Proposal Maybe we should top the follow-up with GGUS tickets It is no use to haunt people with ticket when A/ R=98.9%. 15 ROD performance index A well-known resource centre in Geneva is not included here ROD performance index appeared to show a decaying trend but it seems to level off now The decaying trend was already there before the follow-up started Not sure if follow-up with GGUS tickets is helping here

18 Conclusions My personal opinion: Only for the top BDII, follow-ups had a measurable positive effect I think that with the follow-ups we have reached the state that we do not see any improvement anymore. Automated generation of tickets seems to generate automated answers. Tickets do not seem to generate a willingness to improve anymore if at all.

19 Conclusions Suggestion: stop the monthly ticketing. The NGIs will love us for it. Instead publish monthly results with a clear indication that NGIs in read did not meet the OLA requirements. People should still be warned for the fact that they do not meet OLA requirements Insert data into a relational database to derive patterns and trends from it. If certain type of problems are identified for some NGIs, then provide targeted assistance to this NGI. This can be done by COD if expertise is available or by any other support group within EGI.

20 Conclusions Input in cvs format so files can be easily parsed in put into db Consistent naming, so not Montenegro in one csv file and NGI_ME in another

21 Conclusions Example: Not: your BDII was only 98.9 percent available last month, you bad NGI!!! But: Hey, your BDII has been below target for 3 consecutive months during the past year, anything wrong???? We can get advice from experts if you want???

22 Conclusions Example2: Not: You have had 11 items on the COD dashboard last month, you bad ROD!!! ROD:..ehhhh, sorry, someone forgot his shift but this happened only once this year. But: We have seen that the last 3 months the number of items on the COD dashboard is quite high. What is the problem, staffing, organisational?

23 Conclusions I think this approach helps us to determine what the problems of the NGIs really are and builds up a better relationship with the NGIs Automated tickets indicate that you don t care NGIs are willing to do something about problems if they know someone cares about it. Hopefuly, it will improve performance But if people really don t care. Nothing will help.
