3 Logging in Returning users - Log in If you have ever registered in the program previously, you will need to go directly to the Reset your Password tab and enter your address. Password reset instructions will be sent to your registered address. 1. Go to 2. Click the Reset your password tab 3. Enter your address 4. Click Submit 5. An will be sent to you with instructions on how to log in Troubleshooting address not recognized as a username or address. This means that your address does not currently exist in the system - please double check that your has been entered correctly. If you are still unable to log in, please click on the Create New Account tab to Register as a new user. Note: Your password will need to be reset in order to log in this year - you will not be able to log in using your existing password. New users - Register If you have never registered before, you will need to create an account and select your school. Go to Create new account and fill out all of the required fields. 1. Go to 3

4 2. Select Create New Account 3. Fill in all your account information and click Create New Account This is where you will set up your own personal user account 4. Next, you will need to assign yourself to your school and board Select your School Board from the drop down list Select your School from the drop down list Click Join If your school or school board are not on the list, click Can t find your school?. This will direct you to a form to fill out. If you are a Private school, click Private school registration NOTE: If you log out before joining a school, when you log back in, you will be prompted to join a school. 4

5 Choosing an application stream 1. Once you Join your school, you will see a list of available applications. You are able to choose which application you would like to complete this year, based on your eligibility. Please make sure to read the information carefully before picking an application stream Troubleshooting What if you select the wrong stream or change your mind? You can us at info@ontarioecoschools.org to let us know, and we can help you switch streams. Registering your EcoTeam Your EcoTeam members can now register themselves, simply by going to certapp.ontarioecoschools.org > Create New Account and selecting their school and board. However, you can also add EcoTeam members to your school, by creating new accounts on their behalf. To create a new EcoTeam member account Now you have your own account set up, you can add your EcoTeam! This will allow your EcoTeam members to log-in and help you complete the application. To add members to your EcoTeam: 1. Go to the application Home page 2. Go to the Members widget (bottom right) 5

6 3. Click Edit Members 4. Click + Add new user 5. Enter the User and Account Information for your EcoTeam member 6. Create New Account To edit or remove EcoTeam members 1. Go back to the Members widget > Edit Members 2. Select either Edit Member or Delete Member from Operations drop down menu Uploading your Platinum Yearly Planner* *Platinum schools ONLY You should already have a completed Platinum Yearly Planner saved in a convenient file location on your computer. 1. Go to the Yearly Planner section of the Platinum application 2. Click Upload and select your Platinum Yearly Planner to upload. Click Upload Files. 3. Click Save Question. 6

7 3. Once uploaded, you should receive an to confirm Your EcoSchools Platinum Yearly Planner for your school name has been submitted for review. Completing your Initial EcoReview You should already have a print-out version of your EcoReview handy. You will use these EcoReview results to input into the online application. 1. Go to section 2, Energy Conservation Select the first set of radio buttons to select a level for questions Make sure to click Save per question, after selecting each level OR make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save All 2. Go to section 3, Waste Minimization Select the first set of radio buttons to select a level for questions Make sure to click Save per question, after selecting each level OR make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save All 3. Once you have completed all of your Initial EcoReview questions, you should see a popup appear 7

8 4. Following completion, the Application Tracker should show a green checkmark next to Initial EcoReview Completing your Certification Application 1. Go through each section and input a level for each question you are attempting For some questions, you will be required to fill out text, select checkboxes or drop down lists, and upload portfolio docs Make sure to click the save button for each question as you go - OR make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save All Application Tracker 8

9 The application tracker on the left hand side of the application will show you your progress as you work your way through the application. Green checkmark: you have completed the question, and selected a level Orange question mark: you have not yet completed the question - hover over the orange icon to see what is missing (eg. text box, portfolio requirement, or select a level) You will not be able to submit until you have completed these questions You will be able to submit your application once you see a green checkmark for every question you have attempted, and you have a minimum of 50 points. Note: you do not have to attempt every question. Review and Submit When you are ready to submit your application, you can check all of your responses to questions and see if you are ready to submit by going to the Review and Submit page. If you scroll down on the Review and Submit page, you will find the Application Tracker widget: 9

10 Here you can review all the questions that are missing information in your application. Once everything is complete, you should see the following message: You are now ready to Submit your application - congratulations! 10
