3 Overview Trend Micro provides a unique security SDK solution for IoT devices, which requires minimum effort to deploy while providing maximum protection by leveraging the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network. Key benefits include: - On-the-Go Risk Detection and Risk Assessment Identifies and evaluates vulnerabilities and anomalies that could lead to safety risks and data security breaches. - In-System Protection Protects from hacking attempts and prevents attacks from interfering with the integrity of the device. (Feature by request only) - Business Continuity Management Web-based management console that provides administrators full visibility of the cybersecurity status of their devices via a dashboard, as well as allowing administrators to manage and deploy virtual patches to minimize potential vulnerabilities. Registration Virtual Machine Command Line Prompt In order to download the Trend Micro IoT Security SDK, you need to create a Trend Micro Account. Follow the steps below to create your account. 1. Log onto your IoT Security Virtual Machine via SSH ssh your_vm_name@your_vm_ip 2. Run the following application sudo /opt/atom/bin/arc 2

4 3. After arc is activated, follow the command line prompt and provide the following information: a. Vendor Your company name (or any official organization s name). It must contain: i. Between 3 and 20 characters ii. At least 1 lower/uppercase character iii. No special characters. Only. (dot) _ (underline) - (dash) are allowed b. A valid address. This will be used as your account s user name. c. Password Password for your account. It must contain: i. At least 8 characters ii. At least 1 digit iii. At least 1 uppercase character iv. At least 1 lowercase character 4. An account verification will be sent to the address provided Resend Verification If you do not receive the account verification , follow the steps below to use arc to resend the verification Run the following command sudo /opt/atom/bin/arc -r 2. Provide the and password you used to create your account to manually resend the verification . Note: The activation link sent to you in the first verification expires after the new verification is sent. 3

Keep Your Account Authorized After your account is verified, do not turn off or delete your VM. If you turn off or delete the VM: - You will no longer be able sign into Trend Micro IoT Security Portal - Your devices will not be protected We do not recommend turning off or deleting the VM unless strictly necessary. If you decide to turn off the VM, you must turn it on again before you can sign into the Trend Micro IoT Security Portal and protect your devices. 5

7 Download SDK The URL for Trend Micro IoT Security Portal is Sign into the portal using your account address and password, then click the Download tab to navigate to the download center. From this page you can download the Trend Micro IoT Security SDK package. Trend Micro currently supports 2 SDK platforms: Raspbian Jessie Renesas Porter Board GENIVI ivi11 6

8 FAQ Q1. My registration was unsuccessful. What do I do now? If you could not complete your account registration, check that the vendor name and format are correct. If the format is correct, try using a different vendor name or address. If there was a server error during the registration process, try again later. Q2. I did not receive the verification . Check that the address you provided is correct. If you typed the wrong address, you will need to register again using the correct address to receive the verification . If you provided the correct address, look for the verification in your inbox as well as your spam or junk folder. If you did not receive it, resend the verification using the /opt/atom/bin/arc r command. Q3. Can I turn off the VM after registering? Yes, you can. However, turning off the virtual machine revokes your access to Trend Micro IoT Security Portal and removes protection from your devices until you start the VM again. We do not recommend turning off your VM unless strictly necessary. Q4. The SDK does not support my IoT platform Trend Micro IoT Security SDK currently supports both Renesas and Raspbian Jessie, but you are welcomed to submit the platform you would like to see supported via the link below: 7
