1 ISDP Documentation Reference Guide Overview Purpose This publication lists resources you can use to understand and implement the ISDP network and to manage a system operating ISDS software version 2.3 or later. Terms ISDP IPTV Services Delivery Platform ISDS The IPTV Services Delivery System (ISDS) is a centralized server located at the ISDP headend. It may also be called the ISDP server. Its primary function is to manage digital services and service delivery to IP set-tops in the ISDP. The ISDS hosts the PowerKEY conditional access system (CAS) that enables secure delivery of services to IP set-tops when PowerKEY is the CAS. The ISDS also provides management, provisioning and configuration through the ISDP to IP set-tops and other compatible set-top converters, and provisions sessions on the PowerKEY CAS Gateway (PCG). The ISDS provides support for set-top applications via the Broadcast File System (BFS), and it monitors and controls ISDP network elements such as the Remote Network Control Server (RNCS) and the Video Quality Experience (VQE). The ISDS can be offloaded by the RNCS which supports BFS and Enterprise Active Security (EAS) delivery at a remote site.
