3 Our Goal To get User Interface from an EMF Model Requirements: components that can be used in existing applications easy-to-use customization mechanisms lightweight and flexible solution

4 EMF Edit Our starting point was EMF Edit! Problems: Setup time, getting to a complete UI is not so straightforward Maintenance time, customization it's a bit complex

7 EMF Parsley EMF Parsley is a young project, current version is Small, Reusable and Customizable components Split and delegate responsibilities into small classes injected in the framework (Google Guice) Easy to customize a single aspect without customizing the components themselves All components relying on that aspect will be assured to use the customized version

13 Emf Parsley DSL Implemented in Xtext, using Xbase Interoperable with the Java type system IDE tooling (including Debugging) Specify customizations in one single file in a compact form Generates the corresponding Java code Generates the Guice bindings You can use the DSL and manually written Java code together
