Questions are addressed in the following categories: General pure internet architecture: pages 1 3. Differences between Windows Client and PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Web Client: pages 3 7. Development for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Web Client: pages 8 9. General Pure Internet Architecture Your new PeopleSoft is empowering innovation. As the world s second largest enterprise application provider, you can trust your new PeopleSoft to continuously expand its technology investments and equip your organization for the future. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Web Client is an integral part of this innovation and illustrates our commitment to improving your total ownership experience. What PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne versions support Pure Internet Architecture? PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Xe, 8, 8.9, 8.10, and 8.11 support Pure Internet Architecture. Customers can derive the benefits of the Pure Internet Architecture with any release. What are the supported clients with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11? With PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11, PeopleSoft is taking Pure Internet Architecture one step farther along by enabling Web Client as the only interface for running applications. Windows Client will still be required for administration and design tools. Why did PeopleSoft make this decision to go to Pure Internet Architecture? Pure Internet Architecture alignment. PeopleSoft emphasizes the Pure Internet Architecture as part of the core philosophy. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne has adopted this philosophy, and release 8.11 is a realization of it. Total cost of ownership. Web Client offers the lowest cost to deploy a client. With browser-based applications, application deployment to your end users is very simple. Just place a hyperlink in an or on your corporate website, and end users can access the applications just like they access any other website. Development capacity. By eliminating Windows Client, PeopleSoft can apply more resources to Web Client and not be held to the least common denominator of what only would work in both Web Client and Windows Client.

Can I run the Windows Client and Web Client together? With PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Xe, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8, and PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.9 and 8.10, you can run both the Windows Client and Web Client together. With the same back-end Transaction Server (formerly known as Enterprise Server), you can have some users with Windows Client and some users with Web Client. With PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11, Windows Client is used for administration and design tools, but end-user applications will use Web Client only. Do I have to go to Web Client to be supported? No. Standard support policies are still applicable for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.0, 8.9, and Windows Client will be supported for the life of the release, as defined by the support policy. The full support policy can be found on Customer Connection. If I upgrade PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.9 or 8.10 with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94, will my Windows Client still run for end-user applications? Yes. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94 supports Windows Client for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.9 and Once PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11 is available, can I still buy PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.10? PeopleSoft s policy is to sell, and ship, the most current release available of our software. Customers who have a special business need for PeopleSoft Enterprise 8.10 may contact our Customer Care team and request shipment of PeopleSoft Enterprise 8.10, however. Do I have to upgrade to PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11 before going to Web Client? No. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne has supported Web Client since PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Xe. Can I run PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne CRM 8.11 with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.10 applications? No. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne CRM 8.11 is designed to work only with other PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11 applications. Can I still run custom applications through Windows Client in PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11? No. All custom applications, whether end user or administrative, must run through Web Client. Solution Explorer will allow only PeopleSoft-delivered administrative and design applications to run. Who is running Web Client? For customer testimonials and reference information, please see Customer Connection. How does this new release affect my IT staff? Your IT staff will definitely need to learn some new things, but the knowledge they ve already built will transfer very well to the new Pure Internet Architecture. The new technologies that your IT staff must learn deal primarily with the web server and the generation step in the deployment process. PeopleSoft provides training and services to help you get up to speed. What browsers are supported with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11? Internet Explorer (IE) on Windows. Netscape on Windows. Mozilla on Redhat Enterprise Linux AS (available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94). Apple Safari on Mac OS X (available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94). Please check the Customer Connection for the latest information. Are there any differences in functionality with each browser? The following features only work with IE: Hover text (available with IE 6). Type ahead (available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.93). Export/import with Word. For exporting/importing with Excel for other platforms, you can use the CSV format and then open it in the spreadsheet reader of your choice. For mail merge (available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94), PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne takes formatted data in RTF format and produces merged documents in PDF format. The merge process will work on any platform. What J2EE application servers are supported with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne? IBM WebSphere Application Server. BEA WebLogic Server. Please check the Supported Platforms portion of Customer Connection for the latest information and compatibility by PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne version.

What HTTP web servers are supported with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11? IBM HTTP Server. BEA WebLogic Server (internal HTTP server). IIS. Please check the Supported Platforms portion of Customer Connection for the latest information and compatibility by PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne version. Are there any licensing concerns in using IBM WebSphere Application Server or PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Collaborative Portal? Yes, there are restrictions on its usage. Please check your license with PeopleSoft for details. What are the memory and CPU requirements for a desktop client to access Web Client? The requirements can vary based on operating system and browser. Check Customer Connection for specific details. Where can I get more information? Three white papers are available that customers should find helpful: Harnessing the Web with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Web Client. This white paper gives an overview of Web Client. It provides details on Web Client s benefits and architecture. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Web Client Versus Thin Client Solution. This white paper details a study performed by PeopleSoft that compares the cost of deploying Web Client versus an industry-leading thin client solution. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Web Client: A Firm Foundation for Taking Enterprise Applications to the Web. This analyst brief, published by Robert Frances Group, outlines why PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne customers should consider moving their applications to the web. See your account executive or Customer Connection to receive these white papers. What things have been done to improve Web Client performance and usability? PeopleSoft is committed to improving performance and usability for all aspects of PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne components, including Web Client. Here are some items of note: Usability improvement. For instance, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne performed some usability analysis on PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Sales Order Entry. Through this analysis, we improved the amount of time it takes to complete a Sales Order Entry task by 30 percent. Full details of this study will be posted on Customer Connection in August All PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne applications are being evaluated to improve usability. Menu navigation. With PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.94, the time to navigate Web Client menus will be improved by up to 75 percent by using caching for the menu structure. Reduced keystrokes for search. With PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.94, expect an up to 80 percent reduction in keystrokes to complete a search within PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne forms. Differences Between Windows Client and PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Web Client Are there new architectural components of Web Client? Web Client uses the Transaction Server for processing business logic but introduces the Java Application Server (JAS) for processing the metadata, which includes event rules. The JAS component is highly scalable for handling multiple users at once, much more than a terminal server. JAS is written in Java and runs on the IBM WebSphere Application Server or BEA WebLogic Server. Are there any differences to deploy objects with Web Client? Yes. To improve performance, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne precompiles the objects from the metadata format to native Java format. Windows Client generates the Java objects. Please refer to the section, Generating PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Serialized Objects, in the web server installation PeopleBook. What hardware changes will I need to use Web Client? Changes may be needed if you are not running all your business logic on the back-end Enterprise Server. You should see your hardware vendor for details. Also, see the question, How can I get the best performance? How does this move to browser-based applications impact my end users? The applications still have the same functionality, so the end users do not need to relearn the applications from scratch. There are some differences in the user interface that will take some getting used to at first, but in the long run, PeopleSoft expects the new Web Client user interface to be an improvement over Windows Client. The next question offers more detail about these differences.

What is different between the Web Client and Windows Client interfaces? One area that is noticeably different between Web Client and Windows Client is the user experience. User interface changes are those in which the same features are available but are represented differently. Grid Formats. Grid formats in Windows Client are represented as tabs that run along the top of the grid. Grid formats in Web Client are represented as drop-down controls in the grid header. Selecting the grid format makes it the active format, just as clicking the tab would in Windows Client. Grid Format Creation/Modification. In Windows Client, users drag columns to the desired position. In Web Client, users go to a page to sequence columns in a list by column title. Similarly, the color and font of grid cells is set through a separate web page. All the features available to Windows Client grid formats are also available to Web Client: row and column sequencing, text and background color, font, and so on. Web Client has the additional capability to hide columns, which results in faster display because the data is not displayed nor even transmitted across the network. Row Selection. In Windows Client, users select rows by clicking the grid row header. In Web Client, users click a button or checkbox to the left of each row to indicate when a row is selected. The button is for grids where only one grid row can be selected at a time. The checkbox is for those grids where multiple grid rows can be selected simultaneously. To select all grid rows, just select the checkbox on the left of the grid query line. (Available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94.) Menu/Toolbar/Exit Bar. The toolbar is represented differently in Web Client and Windows Client. Windows Client has three representations of the form s menu options. It s represented as a toolbar, a standard menu bar, and an optional exit bar (left of the form). The menu bar shows all the possible options, organized as a standard menu. The toolbar shows only those options that the application developer specified to be displayed as buttons. The exit bar shows all the form-specific options categorized as form, row, report, and so on. Web Client has no duplication. The form s menu options are displayed as buttons and buttons with pop-up menus. The buttons are the same as on Window s toolbar. The buttons with pop-up menus are the remaining menu options that are not shown on the Windows Client toolbar. Grid Scrolling. In Web Client, you can set the number of rows (page size) to be seen on the first find action. The global default is 10 rows. You can change the default by form in Form Design Aid, or you can change the global default (available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94). After the first find, you can select the > icon in the grid header to fetch the next set of rows. Pulling the scroll bar to the bottom in Windows Client, or pressing CTRL+END, fetches more grid rows. In Web Client, clicking the > icon on the grid header fetches all rows (available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94). To improve display performance, only a set number of all the rows are displayed at one time. Use the drop-down menu, similar to those found on Google and other web applications, to select which section of rows you want to look at. The amount of rows to display at one time (section size) is configurable. The default is 200. Note that if you are viewing more than 60 columns, this value is split in half. There is also a performance consideration: To keep the CPU from being bogged down by one user requesting thousands of rows, the fetch all request can be time sliced. The default is one second. You can achieve faster results by making this value shorter, but you achieve greater scalability if you make it longer. When fetching all rows, you are also given the opportunity to stop at any time and see the results so far. Excel Import/Export. When data is imported to the grid, Windows Client directly maps the data to the grid columns. In Web Client, a preview step allows users to verify that they have correctly mapped the columns. This step prevents extra processing and errors if the columns are not correctly aligned in the spreadsheet. In Web Client, users can export to Excel with one click of the icon on the grid header. (Available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94.) Maximize View. Another difference between Windows Client and Web Client happens when you expand the size of the window. In Windows Client, the text fields widen. In Web Client, the positioning of text fields does not change. Design guidelines say that you should design only for the default (nonexpanded) window size. If, however, you have text in Web Client that is truncated, you can still see this text by positioning the mouse steady on the text; the full text will appear. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne calls this feature hover text. (Available in IE 6 only.)

Heads-Down Data Entry. Some users enter data into applications in a heads-down mode, meaning the person is looking at an order sheet and entering the data, not looking at the screen. For this mode to work, a user must be able to navigate through the application without using the mouse. For data entry, Web Client works the same as Windows Client in allowing data entry while the validation of each row of data in the grid happens asynchronously. The following features are differences between Windows Client and Web Client. Tab Stops. In Web Client, the tab sequence includes the selection checkbox on the grid row header. In Windows Client, there is no selection checkbox. In Windows Client, when the user has focus in the last control in the tab sequence and presses TAB, the focus circles back to the first control in the tab sequence. In Web Client, when focus is in the last control and the user presses TAB, the focus goes out of the form to the URL address because the browser is actually in control of the tab sequence. The browser s tab stops cannot be negated. Hot Keys. In Web Client, pressing ALT+A for Add conflicts with the favorites in IE. For visual assistance in Web Client, use CTRL+S rather than CTRL+F10. Interactive Versions Application. Available on Web Client with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools F1 (Help) for Processing Options. Available on Web Client with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools What are the applications that run only in Windows Client? Design tools (FDA, RDA, TDA). Data dictionary. Job scheduler. Object Management Workbench (OMW). Security Workbench. Package build/deployment. Product packaging. Software updates. Solution Explorer, only for launching administrative and design applications. Table conversion. Note that a web version of the following also exists: Universal table browse (available in PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94). The full list can be found on Customer Connection. Are all UBEs available from Web Client? All universal bus exchangers (UBEs) are available to be submitted from Web Client. They are then run on the Enterprise Server. Administrative reports will continue to be run from a Windows client installation. Administration applications run in Windows Client, so why can t all applications still run in Windows? PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne can enforce what is allowed to run in Windows by looking at the application name and then deciding whether to let it run. Can I just rename my application to one that is considered an administration application and run it in Windows? Even if this configuration were possible, PeopleSoft does not support it. The process is enforced through a table lookup. In PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11, however, many applications are now written with PowerForms, a new form type that works only in Web Client. How can I get the best performance? There are a number of factors to consider when looking at performance: physical location of the servers, the capacity and speed of the servers, bandwidth, compression of data, connection management, and security. Some known tips follow: Custom Grids. The fewer columns you display, the less data goes over the network. IE also slows down as you display more grid cells. One way to improve performance is to show only the grid columns that you need by customizing the grid. (Use the customize button in the grid header.) Internet Explorer 6. IE 6 performs much faster than 5.5. IE 6 is the current MTR with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.9 and later. Memory and CPU Power. Though there is no code on the client, the browser still executes JavaScript, which consumes memory and CPU cycles. Check that you have some memory available before starting the browser. Your CPU should also not be peaking at 100 percent when displaying any application in the browser. This CPU peak can be related to the memory available because it may be spending cycles swapping memory in and out to disk. There are no guidelines yet on CPU power, but you will be better off the closer you get to 800 MHz or more. Use Other Products to Speed WAN Environments. Even plain-text compression could cut bandwidth requirements by 50 percent. IBM WebSphere Application Server, which is bundled with Technology Foundation, provides this feature as part of the standard product. It is available as a download from IBM until bundled in WAS 5.1.

Redline Networks, a PeopleSoft partner, provides a hardware appliance that sits in front of the web server and handles not only compression but also connection management, streamlines data traffic, and can even do SSL faster than clear text. The appliance allows this processing to be off-loaded from the web server, thus increasing its scalability, decreasing end-user download times, and decreasing bandwidth consumption while adding a layer of security. Support for this product is though Redline. More information can be found at Use In Your Face Errors. When you do get an error, you want to be alerted to it so you can fix it fast. Web Client provides two methods for displaying errors. One is a dialog box that shows the full error text, which PeopleSoft calls an in your face error. The other is a small red cross icon on the top right. Clicking the icon displays the full error. PeopleSoft has found that some users do not see this icon and do not know what happened. It is recommended that you use the in your face style so that users will recognize faster that an error occurred. What will happen if I open an application from Solution Explorer? End-user applications will no longer appear on the Solution Explorer menu. Fast-path access will produce an error dialog box. Other than opening applications, will Solution Explorer work the same? No. Solution Explorer has been simplified in release 8.11 to provide only the functionality needed by an administrator or developer. Favorites, Find It, Internet (Homepage), Links, and Activators are eliminated. Obsolete functions have been removed. Are there any features that are no longer supported? Cross data source join is no longer supported. Solution Explorer also is being changed as noted in the previous answer. Will I still be able to customize PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne task views (menus)? Yes. In PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94, you will continue to use Solution Explorer to create and maintain task views, although within Solution Explorer, you will only be able to use the Lifecycle Tools task view to launch tasks. What if I close the browser while completing a transaction? Because processing on the OK button can be completed on the server even after the user closed the browser, if there is an error, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne will send an message to the user to inform him or her. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne also will capture the transaction data such that you can copy it back and retransmit the OK processing. You will not need to make changes to your application to take advantage of this enhancement. (Available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94.) How can files be created with Web Client? If an application creates a file, it must do so by using the file system where the web server is located because browsers are prevented from writing to the local system. You can map a drive to the web server so that it does not have to be the same machine as the web server. Users who need access to the created files must also be given access permission. How do copy versions work on Web Client? For versions of applications, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne currently has a concept of a Windows version and a web version. You are allowed to copy a Windows version, and it will run on Web Client, but you cannot copy a web version. So, to achieve a copy of a web version, you must convert it by using OMW to a Windows version. Are there new security concerns with Web Client? Web Client is more secure and offers more options. To start, any traffic over the internet can be encrypted with SSL controlled through IBM WebSphere Application Server or BEA WebLogic Server. Collaborative Portal can also use an LDAP directory to define the user profile information, and it can support single signon. Web Client also supports LDAP without Collaborative Portal. (Available in PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94.) There are still limitations on the length of the user and password with Web Client because of the length of the fields in the logon forms. Role security changes take effect for any user the next time he or she logs on. (Available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.9.) (PeopleSoft Enterprise Xe/ERP 8 requires all users of that group to log off for security changes to take effect.) Directories supported include IBM SecureWay, IBM Domino, and Microsoft Active Directory.

Is there any method to refresh cached data in the JAS? SAW provides the ability to refresh the following caches located on the JAS. (Available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.9): Service cache: includes UDC, user references, and rules. Spec cache: includes data dictionary, tables, business views, forms, reports. Security cache. OCM cache. How can I record an AutoPilot script? AutoPilot is a record/playback utility. The ability to record with AutoPilot will be available in PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.95 and will work with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne What features are being considered for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.95? Auto-Return. For heads-down data entry, users can set Auto-Return between two columns so that when entering data, users can press TAB to go to the next row once they ve reach the Auto-Return mark. Currently in Web Client, you can tab between cells, but to go to the next row, you press ENTER. Freeze Column. Users can freeze the first columns so that these columns do not move when they scroll to the right. This capability helps users track which row they are on as they scroll to the right to see other data. Cut/Paste Within the Grid. Users can copy or cut data from selected cells in the grid and paste them at another location. Auto-Populate. A type-ahead feature for IE was added with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Xe Service Pack 23 and PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.93, but in PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne, the browser default implementation was found not to be adequate for heads-down entry. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne is looking to replace this feature with a much better implementation in the upcoming release. Maximize View. The goal of this feature is to give more room for text fields when a user maximizes the window, just as in Windows Client. Copy Versions. Users will be able to copy a web version. Table Conversion. Existing table conversions can be launched from Web Client. Some table conversion functionality, such as data selection, is not available in the web environment yet. AutoPilot Recording. Users will be able to record a script for playback. Performance Improvements. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne is committed to improving performance specifically with the grid, database triggers, and usability performance in future releases. Development for PeopleSoft Enterprise Web Client How are applications built to run on Web Client? Applications that run on Web Client are built by using the same PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne development tools that you use today. These tools still use Windows Client, and there are no plans to change them to be browser based. When a developer wants to preview or run an application under development, a standalone web application server executes it locally. If the application has been modified on the local machine since it was last previewed or executed, Java serialized objects will be generated on the fly so that the local web application server can run it. Developers also debug the event rules that execute within Web Client by using the Event Rules Debugger. (These features are available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.10.) How do I set up a workstation to develop applications for Web Client? The instructions on installing the prerequisite web application server, preparing packages that contain the web development feature, and installing and testing a development client are located in the PeopleBook Web Development Client Installation and Configuration. This document describes how to install either IBM WebSphere Application Server Express or WebLogic Express on the development workstation. Where do I get the prerequisite web application server for development client? IBM WebSphere Application Server Express ships on CD to all customers who have Technology Foundation. (If you did not get this CD, contact PeopleSoft Support to get it.) BEA WebLogic Server Express can be acquired and licensed directly from BEA.

How do I turn on logging when previewing or executing Web Client applications on my development client? Where is the log located? First, locate the jdelog properties. For IBM WebSphere Application Server, it is in the following file: C:\B9\JAS\EA_JAS_80.ear\webclient.war\WEB-INF For BEA WebLogic Server, it is in the following file: C:\B9\JAS\EA_JAS_80.ear\webclient.war In the section at the bottom of the file, remove the comment ( # ) from the following lines: jdelog.debug=debug, jasdebug jdelog.handler.jasdebug=com.jdedwards.base. logging.log4j.filehandler jdelog.handler.jasdebug. File=C:/B9/JAS/EA_JAS_80.ear/webclient.war/ logs/jasdebug.log jdelog.handler.jasdebug.level=debug The JAS debug log is written to the location specified in the jdelog.handler.jasdebug.file property. The debug information includes SQL statements. How do I access logs on the server? Use the SAW tool to access logs on the server. Will application events fire differently on Web Client as compared to Windows Client? When an event is being repeated for every grid row in a multiselect grid, the event variable is initialized for each grid row in the web grid. In Windows Client, the event variable keeps the same value for each grid row. The workaround is to use a form variable and to call the Get Selected Grid Row Count and Get Selected Grid Row Number system functions to know when to reinitialize the form variable. The Tab Page Is Selected and Post Dialog Is Initialized system functions start in different orders in Windows Client and Web Client, but it is a problem only if both events use the Set Focus system function. The Set Focus On Grid event works for Web Client, starting with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools How does the disablement of Windows Client affect control modes, which are set in FDA on fields? Field control modes set in FDA are not affected by the disablement of Windows Client. When a user adds an application as a task to the menu, the user has the option of choosing the mode in which to run the application. When an error occurs in an application, why can t I see the source location of the error in the web environment? In Windows Client, you can drill down to find the function and line number. This capability has been fixed for Web Client. (Available with PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94.) Do client-only NERs run? Yes. Java classes, which run on the web server, are generated instead of C code. Can I debug client-only NERs? No. This is a known issue that should be addressed in the future. What is the quickest way to start the desktop web server? There are a couple options in starting the desktop web server. You can have it start at the same time as PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne. In the jde.ini, set the StartAppServer property to IMME in the LOCALWEB section. You can also manually start and stop the web server. To start the web server, open a command prompt and enter these two lines: For IBM WebSphere Application Server: cd c:\websphere\express\appserver\bin startserver server1 For BEA WebLogic Server: cd C:\B9\JAS\Domain\peoplesoft startjas.cmd To stop the web server, open a command prompt and enter these two lines: For IBM WebSphere Application Server: cd c:\websphere\express\appserver\bin stopserver server1 For BEA WebLogic Server: cd C:\B9\JAS\Domain\peoplesoft stopjas.cmd

If my web server is already running, can I directly log onto Web Client? You can directly log onto the Web Client by typing the following URL in your browser: For IBM WebSphere Application Server: For BEA WebLogic Server: To get this procedure to work, your web server and Solution Explorer must already be running. The web server process requests for forms and Solution Explorer executes business function calls. Will I have access to local SPEC files? Yes. You will be able to access your local specs just as in Windows Client. All that will be different is that the GUI will display in the browser. Is there an equivalent of UTB in the web environment? Yes. (Available with EnterpriseOne Tools 8.94.) Are there any training, guidelines, or standards on best practices for web design? A web design guide is available on Customer Connection. Is the Work Center available on Web Client? Yes. It will be available in both Web Client and Windows Client. To get links to applications to work correctly in the HTML for Applications environment, however, you will need to add the following to the jde.ini file: [JDENET_KERNEL_DEF13] krnlname=work FLOW KERNEL dispatchdllname=workflow.dll dispatchdllfunction=_jdek_dispatchwfserver Process@28 maxnumberofprocesses=5 numberofautostartprocesses=0 [JAS PREFERENCE] Protocol=http JasServer=localhost Port=7080 Default Login=Standard
