1 INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Cross TV, an engaging, positive and progressive national general entertainment channel for young adults with the vision to expand internationally is recruiting. The Vision of Cross TV is to be the most influential platform for educating and empowering the youth to solve humanitarian issues in Kenya, in Africa and the whole world. Established in 2017 we plan to operate a valuable portfolio of news, info and edutainment networks, significant television production operations. Cross TV is fully owned by the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) Cross TV is seeking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to fill the following positions: HR/CROSS/24/2018 SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Reporting to the Head of Digital and Technology, the Software Development Manager will be responsible for the following: - Designs, develops and modifies programs, including prototypes. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning and tracking project progress. Skilled in DevOps / SCRUM a must. Manages and directs software developers. Evaluates employee performance, sets expectations and goals for department and individual staff members, recruits and trains staff. Consults with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into project objectives. Provides support regarding product development to internal departments. Researches product development options and provides analysis for product direction. Creates related documentation. Minimum Requirements: Must have at least 7 years experience working through the design, development, release cycle and delivering software products. Minimum of 3 years in management/leadership position with successful delivery of software applications and demonstrated ability in Project Management and problem solving. Graduate in Computer Science or related discipline. A master s degree will be an added advantage. Strong understanding of the software development cycle. Extensive knowledge of web development languages would be a plus. A passion for software development. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other productivity software packages, including use of , the Internet as well as Local and Wide Area Network systems. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with an attention to detail, along with an ability to analyse and evaluate different types of information. Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, planning, records management, research and general administration.

2 HR/CROSS/25/2018 WEB DEVELOPER FRONT END Reporting to the Software Development Manager, The Web Developer will be responsible for the following: - Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices Creating website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices Integrating data from various back-end services and databases Required Experience: A minimum of 5 years Web Development experience and with three (3+) years on front end development. He/she must be passionate about web developing and excited about modern web development. Previous and recent experience must be in a similar environment. : Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent with knowledge and proven experience in other web developing languages and technologies as well as application development methodologies Web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS CSS pre-processors like Sass or LESS JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, React, or Ember etc., or JS-based build tools like Grunt, Gulp, and Bower Libraries like jquery or Backbone.js Responsive frameworks such as Foundation or Bootstrap Git version control Research new technologies and provide suggestions to senior leadership staff. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with different websites and microsites Perform periodic Website audits. Work with web strategy team to design and develop consistent look and feel of websites Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Very strong customer service orientation with ability to work independently as well as part of a larger development team Ability to lead and inspire project team members Personable, enthusiastic, a strong communicator, and detail oriented. HR/CROSS/26/2018 WEB DEVELOPER - FULL STACK Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Web Developer Full Stack will be responsible for the following: - Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices Creating web applications using standard practices. Integrating data from various back-end services and databases Responsive website development Client website support (content, features, functionality) Research, vet, learn, and deploy bleeding-edge technology and best practices on an ongoing basis Write scalable, maintainable, and reusable code Provide quality assurance control and cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility on all projects Required Experience: A minimum of five (5+) years Web Development experience with at least three (3+) years in Full Stack Development. He/she must be passionate about web developing and excited about modern web development. Previous and recent experience must be in a similar environment. Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent

3 Front-end & back-end website development using Server-side languages like PHP, Python, React, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, and.net Database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Web server technologies like Node.js, J2EE, Apache, Nginx, ISS, etc. Frameworks related to their server-side language of choice like: Express.js, Ruby on Rails, CakePHP, etc. Responsive frameworks such as Foundation or Bootstrap Git version control Personable, enthusiastic, a strong communicator, and are detail oriented. HR/CROSS/27/2018 UI/UX DESIGNER Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the UI/UX designer will be responsible for the following: - Understanding the customer journey and advising on the optimal approaches to drive the optimal experience for the audiences utilizing our business applications via multiple digital mediums Strategizing with our product & development teams on concept, UI UX design that fit multiple user personas Wireframing and rapid prototyping leveraging the best UI UX practices across other business spectrums and domains Building and maintaining our style guides that keeps in line with beautiful design & brand alignment Assistance in gamification of various components of the user experience to drive faster adoption and better engagement Delivering final pixel-perfect specs for development (browser and mobile) Post-launch usability evaluation and iteration Keeping business stakeholders informed about the progress Required Experience: A minimum three (3+ ) years of experience in web-based design with the ability to quickly create and iterate on assets to fit in with the design requirements and a strong grasp of UX/UI principles. : A graduate in design or a design-related field Proficiency with Sketch, Photoshop, or similar software Experience with the design workflow from concept to execution Skilled in both 2D and 3D art Portfolio of design projects. Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision) Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. HR/CROSS/29/2018 ios MOBILE APP DEVELOPER Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the ios Mobile App developer will be responsible for the following: - Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Design and build applications for the ios platform. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Help maintain code quality and organization. Required Experience: a minimum of three (3 +) years of experience in ios development with passion for good software and fluent proficiency in English. Proven development experience in desktop and

4 mobile web development, excellent knowledge in information architecture and mobile usability design principles, track record of delivering successful consumer products. Graduate in Degree in Computer Sciences or technology related field with focus in Application development. Proficient with Objective-C or Swift {{depending on project requirements}}, React, and Cocoa Touch. Experience with ios frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning. Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect ios applications to back-end services. Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards. Understanding of Apple s design principles and interface guidelines. Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred. Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools {{such as Instruments and Shark, depending on project needs}} Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications. Very good knowledge in Objective-C Good knowledge in software design and principles HR/CROSS/20/2018 ANDROID APP DEVELOPER Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Android Mobile App developer will be responsible for the following: - Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code. Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code. Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Help maintain code quality and organization. Required Experience: A minimum of three (3+) years of experience in android development with extensive development in Java and proficiency with Object Oriented Programming. Proven development experience in desktop and mobile web development, excellent knowledge in information architecture and mobile usability design principles, track record of delivering successful consumer products. Graduate in Software Engineering or related field Background in Android app development Java and Android Studio Experience writing automated unit and UI tests (e.g. JUnit, Mockito & Calabash) Familiar with Atlassian tools including JIRA, Bitbucket & Bamboo Experience with Android build and release tools (e.g. fastlane, Gradle & HockeyApp) Experience developing C++ cross platform libraries & NDK would be a bonus Graduate in technology related field with focus in Application development. Extensive knowledge in Java programming language Good knowledge of SQL databased Good knowledge in MVC framework. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes. Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system. Familiar with Eclipse. Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services. Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.

5 Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as touch Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers. Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
