6 Progress Report: Smart Mirror 5 Status Difficulties The environment setup was delayed due to an InsecurePlatformWarning error caused by the version of python initially installed with Django The mobile component development was delayed slightly due to initial problems with one of the developer computers. Developing the OpenWeatherMaps widget was delayed because it was more difficult to develop a widget than expected. Many open source projects that used OpenWeatherMaps have the API calls and display highly coupled into existing code. Instead of using an existing code base, the widget was developed from scratch. Surprises Developing the gesture recognition to control movement and select objects was completed earlier than expected. Successes The Django Environment was successfully initialized on a virtual machine running Ubuntu. Development that allows for the use of hand gestures to navigate the controls and select objects was successfully completed. The OpenWeatherMaps widget, other than CSS design work. It can also be used as a template for future widgets and should make future development much easier. Problems for Consideration There are no questions or problems at this time.
