3 1 Aerial Camera Function TOP-1031T is a 2-megapixel high-definition digital camera with 10x optical zoom and auto-focus. which has two video stream, one is 1080P 30fps stored in device s TF card, another is real-time AV outputting. The AV video can translate to operator by general analog Image transmission device. TOP-1031T contributes this high performance to evolving field of UAV s aerial system and video conference system. 4 Note: HDMI is only supported by TOP_1032H type Interface 6pin connecter 1 UART_TX 2 UART_RX 3 DC12V 4 GND 5 USB_D- 6 USB_D+ 5pin connecter 1 DC12V 2 GND 3 TV OUT 4 GND 5 PWM CTRL Note: The PWM_CTRL signal from UAV remote controller, which is one channel PWM signal can controlled the device s ZOOM. And the aerial camera will auto focus by Image algorithm. The USB port can directly connect to computer, and play the real-time video by AMCAP software. UART_TX is output from aerial camera, and the UART_RX is input for camera, all is CMOS level. The default UART setting is 9600 baud rate, and no parity. 3 Connection method 3.1 Test line The test line for TOP-1031T is showed in follow circuit. The USB port can directly connect to computer, play the real-time video by AMCAP software, it can read the TF card files through USB port.(need change to MSDC mode). The serial Port use CMOS level signal, customer can use the UART download line which changed the USB port to UART TTL level. All port share the same GND signal line. 4

5 3.2 UAV Application Connect mode Use one UAV s receiving channel PWM signal as camera s zoom control signal, connect to pin5 of 5P connector. After changed the zoom value, the aerial camera will execute the auto focus action. The aerial camera output AV signal from the 3th pin of 5P connector, can connect to analog image transmission. It transfer the real-time video to operator on the ground. The aerial camera can powered by UAV s battery, the supply range is DC6V to DC15V, recommend value is DC12V. It can control the camera s record by the mini IR remoter. Which is topotek provided. Press the number REC will enter video record mode, and the red REC letter will be displayed at the screen. If press the number REC again, which will exit the record mode, and the green STDY letter will be displayed, the total remain time of record, accord to the free space of TF card, will displayed at bottom right of screen. It will changed the camera work mode by press number Mode. Work mode and playback mode. 5

6 4 Control mode 4.1 UAV Remote Control One UAV remote controller steering gear controlled the camera s optical zoom. And the corresponding PWM signal of UAV receiver connect to camera s pwm_ctrl line. And the aerial camera is in auto focus mode. We can enable the record by press the mini IR remoter before UAV takeoff. So we can use the controller steering gear to control the image zoom in or zoom out, and we can further control the video s direction by using a three axis cradle head. 6

7 4.2 Own mini IR Remote Control Top-1031T is not support ICR function and IRIS function. REC: record function on/off. PIC: Take a photo. Mode: mode selection, real-time video, record video, record picture. 4.3 UART Control protocol PELCO-D TOP-1031T s UART interface can support PELCO-D protocol, HITACHI protocol, SONY VISCA protocol. And also support UAV remote control signal with any pwm channel Serial port setup The aerial camera support standard PELCO-D protocol The UART port support 4800 and 9600 baud rate. 8 data bit, 1 stop bit. The address byte is camera address, range is from 00H to FFH. 4. The command byte indicated different action. 5. The data byte1 and byte2 means the different speed of horizontal and vertical direction(00-3fh).ffh indicate turbo speed. 6. parity byte = MOD[(byte2 + byte3 + byte4 + byte5 + byte6)/100h] PELCO-D protocol command Cradle head and general command When camera received the cradle head command, such as up,down,left,right. Camera will enter auto focus mode from manual focus status. 13 6 Special note Camera can t output the AV video and USB video at the same time. It will select the output mode automatic. And if want to changed the output mode, which need to power off first. We can read the TF card file through the USB port. Which need to send command by uart. The function of playback can be achieved by press the mode key of mini IR remoter. Which change the camera work mode. When use the PWM signal control the camera zoom. We need connected the GND signal between the camera and remoter receiver for control signal s stabilization. The aerial camera can powered by UAV s battery, the supply range is DC6V to DC15V, recommend value is DC12V.
