3 CC Studio Pan down the page and select the appropriate download 3 tj

4 Register as a TI user 4 tj

5 Read and agree to the terms 5 tj

6 You will receive a browser and confirmation Select download Follow the process 6 tj

7 Go to your downloads folder Double-click ccs_setup_win32.exe follow instructions You may have to turn off your anti-virus software or exclude the file ccs_setup_win32.exe from scanning settings update and security windows defender add an exclusion exclude a file point to the cc_setup_win32.exe file 7 tj

8 Select MSP 8 tj

9 Select defaults 9 tj

10 Select nothing and then finish 10 tj

11 We also require a GCC toolchain (mingw) Run the.exe file after download 11 tj

12 Start Code Composer Studio desktop shortcut start menu install_dir/code Composer Studio x.x.x 12 tj

13 Select a workspace This is where your CCStudio information is stored I suggest you choose and create a personal folder do not put the workspace in the install directory NO SPACES ALLOWED ANYWHERE IN THE PATH 13 tj

14 Close the getting started window 14 tj

15 - Console Select window -> preferences -> general -> capabilities Check the CDT GDB Debugging box 15 tj

16 Select file -> new -> CCS Project 16 tj

17 Type 432 into the Target window Expand the pulldown to select MSP432P401R 17 tj

18 Type in a project name (NO SPACES ALLOWED) Select Blink the LED in the Basic Examples directory Finish 18 tj

19 Project explorer now has your project listed A c code file blink.c has been created and opened 19 tj

20 File -> New -> C Source File 20 tj

21 Provide a file name You must include the xxxxx.c extension NO spaces It is common to use an underscore _ instead of spaces 21 tj

22 The new file will be opened with a short comment section included at the top 22 tj

23 Right click on the file blink.c Select Exclude from Build We can have only 1 program with a main section in it active in a project It will become greyed out 23 tj

24 Type the following into the file Do not try to copy and paste Microsoft adds hidden characters Save 24 tj

25 Select Project -> Build Project This compiles, assembles, and links the program Check the console for errors 25 tj

26 Plug your MSP432 board into your computer via the USB port It will probably still have the original factory blink program running 26 tj

27 Select debug icon The windows will change to CCS Debug mode This downloads the program onto the board and establishes an active communications link between the board and Code Composer 27 tj

28 the program is paused at the beginning (main) 28 tj

29 Select run (green arrow) This causes the program to continue 29 tj

30 Check the console, and the on board LED The on board LED will be blinking The console will display our greeting message followed by on off on off 30 tj

31 Stop the program (red square) The window returns to CCS Edit mode The LED continues to blink The program continues to run on the board The console quits updating The communications link is broken 31 tj
