2 Before starting the pdfdocs install You must have local administrator rights to be able to install the software.net 4.5 must be installed on your Windows machine You will be able to download the program through the DocsCorp Resource Center. Please refer to the System Requirements for more information on what else you may need. Close all Microsoft Office and DMS client applications that are running on the computer you are installing the software on prior to installing pdfdocs Create a folder for downloading pdfdocs into

4 Accessing the Resource Portal 1 1. Type into your browser 2 2. Log in with your address and Password. These were sent to you previously via
5 Download the pdfdocs trial 1 1. Once the My Software page displays, click on the pdfdocs link in the Downloads/Support column The Downloads page will display. From here you can download the software, MS.NET as well as Release Notes and User Guide. 2. Check the I have read checkbox 4 3. Click the Download button Make sure you download the software to the folder you created earlier. 2 3
6 Installing pdfdocs 1. Navigate to the folder pdfdocs downloaded to on your system 2. Double-click on the pdfdocs installer file 3. Click on Run in the Open File dialog box 4. Follow the onscreen instructions, clicking the Next button until installation is complete 5. Click on the pdfdocs icon on your Desktop to open the application
7 Adding the pdfdocs license 1. Select About in the Backstage View The About pdfdocs dialog box displays Click on the [Set License] button 3. Enter the Licensee Name and the License Key into the appropriate fields This information can be obtained from the My Software page, i.e. License To and License Number. This information must be entered exactly as it appears there. 4. Click the [OK] button 1 3 4

9 Single Document Mode 1 Print to PDF 1. Open a Word document 2. Select File > Print 3. Select DocsCorp PDF Printer from the Name drop-down 4 4. Click the Print button The document is converted to PDF and displays in Single Document Mode in pdfdocs Select File > Save to save the document 3 5
10 Export to PDF 1. Open a Word document Click on the DocsCorp ribbon 3. Click on the Open in pdfdocs option The document is converted to PDF and opens in Single Document Mode. Note other export options: Convert to PDF and add to an existing Project Convert to PDF and Convert to PDF and save
11 4 Navigate the PDF 1. Navigate through the document by clicking on the Next Page button 2. Click into the Page Navigation toolbar and enter a page number 3. Click on the First Page button [<<] to go to the start of the document 4. Click on the Pages pane to display page thumbnails 3 1 2
12 Organizer Project Mode 1 Try this: Create an Organizer Project 1. Click on the File > New option Select Organizer Project and enter the Project name in the Name field 3. Click the Create Project button 4. Add documents to the Organizer Project using the drag and drop method 5. Documents are added to the Organizer Note: You can re-arrange the order by clicking on either the UP or DOWN arrows or by dragging and dropping documents in the document list. Or, sort alphabetically by clicking on the A to Z button. 4
13 Try this: 8 6. Right-click on any document to perform a particular action on the selected document 7. You can temporarily remove any document(s) from the collated set by deselecting the checkbox next to the document name 8. Save the document by clicking on the File menu and selecting Save As in the Backstage View Note you can apply any number of Output Options to the PDF document. You can apply settings for: Security Initial view Stationery Watermarks 6 7
14 Binder Project Mode 1 Try this: Create a Binder Project 1. Create a Binder Project by clicking on the New option in the Backstage view and selecting the Binder option Name the Binder and its location. Click on the Create Project button The Binder interface displays. Note it is different to Single Document Mode and the Organizer Project view. 3. Click the Add Item button to add a document, a folder or a folder (including sub-folders) to the Binder Project. 4. Navigate to the documents and click OK Note: Documents can be converted to PDF or left in their native format (must be supported file types. If they are not supported they can be embedded as an attachment). 4
15 Try this: 5. Right-click on a document and select the Mark as Cover Page. This will be the cover page for the document collection Select the Binder Type, i.e. whether the output is a single document or linked multiple PDFs 7. Click the Make Binder button, giving it a name 7 8. Click the OK button to generate the Binder Based on your choices, pdfdocs will generate a PDF Binder complete with a cover page, an interactive Table of Contents and links to each of the documents in the Binder. 8
