1 Apple Wallet Guide 1 How to create a Certificate for your pass 1.1 Login with your Apple Developer Account Go to and log in using your Apple-Developer Account. 1.2 Go to Certificates, Identifiers and Profiles Click on "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" in the menu. Click on Identifiers from the list

2 1.3 Go to your PassType IDs Select "Pass Type IDs" in the menu on the left. You'll then see your existing Pass Type IDs if you already have any. 2

3 1.4 Register a new pass type id Click on the Plus-Sign on the upper right of the list of existing Pass Type IDs. You will then see a page with the Headline "Registering a Pass Type ID". Enter a description, e.g. "Coupon Pass". This description is only used for recognizing your Pass Type IDs within the Apple Developer Portal.The second field is to specify the Pass Type ID. This ID must be used in the Loyalty Apple Wallet Configuration later. Pass Type IDs always start with "pass." followed by your reversed domain name followed by the name of the ID itself. If your ID should be coupon-pass and your domain is example.com your complete Pass Type ID would be: pass.com.example.coupon-march Click on "Continue" to save your new Pass Type ID. 3

4 1.5 Confirm the Registration of your new Pass Type ID You should now see a page where you can change the data you've entered. If everything is ok click on "Register" to complete the Pass Type ID registration. 1.6 Confirmation of Registration You will now see a confirmation of the Registration of your new Pass Type ID. Click on "Done" to go back to the Pass Type ID overview. 4

5 1.7 Open your Pass Type ID Click on your Pass Type ID in the list view and then click on "Edit". It will show your Pass Type ID. Now click on "Create Certificate" and confirm this step by clicking on "Continue". 5

1.8 Create a certificate for you pass type id 1.8.1 Windows If you use Mac OSX, you can skip this step and move to section 1.8.2. Continue with this section if you use windows.

6 1.8 Create a certificate for you pass type id Windows If you use Mac OSX, you can skip this step and move to section Continue with this section if you use windows. If OpenSSL is not yet installed on your computer install it now. A prerequisite for OpenSSL are the "Visual C++ Redistributables" which have to be installed first. 32bit-Version: 64bit-Version: When the Installation of Visual C++ Redistributables has been finished, install OpenSSL. 32bit-Version: 64bit-Version: Create a folder for your Certificates, e.g. on your C-Drive a folder with the name "my-passbookcertificates". Within this folder we suggest to create a new subfolder for every Pass Type ID, in our example a subfolder called pass.com.example.coupon-pass 6

$In this example the command is like this: cd C:\my-passbook-certificates\pass.com.example.coupon-pass Create the Certificate Signing Request using this line: openssl req -nodes -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout private_key.$

7 After the folder has been created push the Windows-Key on your Keyboard and type "cmd" (without the quotes). Now push Enter. You'll see the Windows Commandline. Change to the recently created folder. In this example the command is like this: cd C:\my-passbook-certificates\pass.com.example.coupon-pass Create the Certificate Signing Request using this line: openssl req -nodes -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout private_key.key -out cer_sign_request.csr You'll be asked for some data (Company Name, Country etc.). Specify them now. Note the Common Name value entered here. This value will be required in Loyalty Apple Wallet Configuration. In the example below it is feltoncouponpass Ensure you enter a Common Name without whitespace characters. Your subfolder should now contain several files including one file called "cer_sign_request.csr". 9 1.9 Upload the certificate signing request Go back to the Apple Developer Portal and click on "Choose File". Select the Certificate Signing Request you've created and click on "Generate". Click on the download button and download the certificate. Save the certificate file. 9

10 1.10 Create the P12-File In Windows Open the command line window again to create the p12-file you need within the Loyalty Administration Portal. You should still be in the subfolder you've created in step Copy the pass.cer downloaded from the previous step to this location. Execute the following commands: openssl x509 -in pass.cer -inform DER -out pass.pem -outform PEM Your folder now contains a file called "pass.pem". To create the p12-file execute the following command and specify a secure password. Remember you password, you'll need it in the Loyalty Administrator Portal. openssl pkcs12 -export -inkey private_key.key -in pass.pem -out my_pass.p12 my_pass.p12 can be replaced with any other filename. Your subfolder should now contain a file called "my_pass.p12". Your command line Window should look like this when you're done: In MAC OSX Double click the pass.cer file downloaded in step 1.9. This will open the certificate in Keychain Access application. Right click on the certificate and click Export Pass Type ID:... Enter a password to protect the P12 file and save the P12 file. 10

11 1.11 Finding your Team-ID Open the Apple Developer Portal and click on Member Center in the upper right and choose "Your Account". On the overview page that is shown now you'll find your Team-ID. You have to specify it in Loyalty Administration Portal Enter your data in Loyalty Administration Portal You have to follow the above steps and create two pass types. One pass type for Loyalty Card and one for Coupons. Login to and go to your project. Click on Loyalty->Configuration->Wallet Configuration Expand the Apple Card Configuration. Enter the Organization Name, which is the name of your organization. 11

12 Enter the Team Identifier, which was noted in step Enter the Pass Type Id which was created in Apple Developer center, from step 1.4. Enter the Certificate Private Key Alias, which is the common name from step 1.8. Enter the certificate password used to export the P12 file, from step And finally upload the P12 file, from step Do the same configuration for Apple Coupon Configuration, using the relevant pass type id and P12 files. 12
