If you believe you have received faulty equipment or an incomplete kit please contact Waltron at the above contact list. Please follow carefully all instructions on the operation and return of the equipment. User may be found liable up to the full replacement cost of the 9065C Travel Kit and analyzer if equipment is found missing or misused. 1

2 INSTALLATION 2.1 Connect water hoses to the inlet and outlet of the analyzer 1) Push the plastic hose connections over the hose sockets of the 9065C.

4 2 INSTALLATION 2.1 Connect water hoses to the inlet and outlet of the analyzer 1) Push the plastic hose connections over the hose sockets of the 9065C. 2) You should be able to sense the connectors click into place. 3) Then pull the connectors backwards until they become locked in place. DO NOT discard plastic bag containing the hoses. You will need to return the hoses in the plastic bag. Position the analyzer in a safe place where it cannot fall over or be knocked down. 2.2 Direct the other end of the outlet hose to waste water collection 2.3 Close the valve on the sample stream before connecting to the analyzer. 3

Wait for the sample to rinse the instrument before taking the first measurement. If you need more than 8 hours worth of data or more than 400 data points, you must connect the 9065c to power and to the data logging processor. Remove the protective dust cover from the power & data plug. The Luminescent Dissolved Oxygen Technology is very insensitive to flow rate. Readings will be accurate as long as there is flow through the analyzer. However, the slower the flow rate, the more lag in the results compared to real time at the actual sample point because it will take longer for the sample to travel to the analyzer. If the throttle valve is fully closed this will result in an incorrect reading. The response time of the measurement is reduced as the temperature of the instrument equalizes with the temperature of the sample. Thus rinsing will result in faster measurements. The 9065c has approximately 8 hours of battery life if left disconnected from power source. The 9065c has an internal data log with a memory capacity of 400 data points 5

If this bar flashes, you can only carry out a few more measurements with the 9065c before the battery needs recharging. 6

Press Enter again. 2. The MAIN MENU will now be displayed. 3. Use the arrow buttons to select the CONFIGURATION menu and press Enter to open the menu. See Appendix A for instructions on how to adjust these settings Sampling Time is your sample rate stored in the data logging processor and analyzer. This is different from Display Time. Display time is the rate at which data is displayed on the analyzer. Shut-Off time: If the 9065c is connected to power it will run until you turn it off regardless of shut-off time. If the 9065c is running on battery power only it will shut off automatically if no buttons have been pressed for the time set in shut-off time. To go back to Reading View, go back to the Main Menu. Highlight and select MEASUREMENT. The screen will turn off. Press ENTER again 7

9 5 SET UP DATA LOGGING PROCESSOR 5.1 Make sure the power/data cord is connected to the 9065c according to Step 3.2 above. Connect the female serial DB9 data connector and the male serial DB9 to USB adapter. The 9065c itself can only store 400 readings in it s internal memory. If you need more than 400 data points you will need to set up the data logging processor. 5.2 Connect the USB cable into your data logging processor 5.3 Plug in the power cord on the data logging processor. The data logging processor has 5 hours of battery life if left unplugged. 5.4 Turn on your data logging processor by pressing the power button for 2 seconds. 8

The data logging processor is equipped with Windows 8.

10 5.5 If the lock screen appears swipe up with your finger on the touchpad. Open the Guest account. There is no password required. The data logging processor is equipped with Windows 8.1 operating system. 5.6 Open the Analyzer 9065C software 5.7 Press the Communication Button 9

11 Hit the Read Data button 5.8 Data will start populating the software Open the keyboard at bottom right corner of screen to begin typing 5.9 When you have finished collecting your data you may export your data into either an Excel or a Text file by pressing the Save Data button. You may save your data onto a USB thumb drive. Hide the keyboard here The data logging processor comes with Office 365. You may open your excel file or your text file directly on the data logging processor to review and process your data. Your data logging processor also comes with Wifi internet capability. You may connect to the internet at any Wifi enabled location and your data to yourself as well. 10

Then follow the instructions on screen to swipe downwards. Disconnect the USB and power. 6.3 Turn off the analyzer by pressing and holding the enter button for three seconds (in the reading view). If you are in the menu view, select MEASUREMENT mode and press Enter as in Step

13 6.4 Disconnect all hoses. Press down on the gray button on the fitting and pull the hose out away from the analyzer. 6.5 Drain the water from the hoses and the analyzer. The 9065c must be dry when in storage. Excess moisture may damage the kit. 12

14 APPENDIX A: CONFIGURATION MENU UNITS From the CONFIGURATION Menu: Use the arrow buttons to select the UNITS menu and then press Enter to open the menu. Use the arrow buttons to select Tem p and press Enter. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the choices for units for Temperature ( F or C). Press Enter. Use the arrow buttons to select O2 and press Enter. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the choices for units for O2 concentration (ppb, µg/l, mg/l, or ppm). Press Enter. Use the arrow buttons to select Main Menu to return to the Main Menu. Press Enter. DATE/TIME/DISPLAY From the CONFIGURATION Menu: Use the arrow buttons to select the DATE/TIME/DISPLAY menu and then press Enter to open the menu. DATE The arrow buttons can be used to alter the date. Press Enter to go from the day to the month and then to the year. Press Enter again to return to the Date/Time/Display menu. TIME The arrow buttons can be used to alter the time. Press Enter to go from the hours to the minutes and then to the seconds. Press Enter again to return to the Date/Time/Display menu. SHUT-OFF TIME The 9065C automatically turns itself off the battery is disconnected from the power source and no buttons have been pressed for a certain time. This time can be adjusted using the arrow buttons. Press Enter to return to the Date/Time/Display menu. DISPLAY CONTRAST The display contrast can be adjusted using the arrow buttons. Press Enter to return to the Date/Time/Display menu. DISPLAY TIMES The measured O 2 and temperature values are displayed on the analyzer during every measurement. The arrow buttons can be used to select and alter the display times. Press Enter to return to the Display times menu. Select Main menu and press Enter to return to the main menu. FORMULA/PROD. DEF. From the CONFIGURATION Menu: Use the arrow buttons to select the FORMULA/PROD. DEF. Menu. Press Enter to open the menu. O2 SAMPLING TIME O2 Sampling time is the sampling rate that data will be stored in the analyzer and in the data logging processor. Use the arrow buttons to select O2 Sampling Time. Press Enter. Use the arrow keys to scroll through each digit and press Enter when complete. Range is from 10 seconds per measurement to 999 seconds per measurement. Use the arrow keys to select Main Menu and press Enter to return to the Main Menu.
