3 introduction CHFA HomeConnection sm is an internet network that permits CHFA Participating Lenders to reserve (lock) mortgage loan funds. Reservations must meet the qualifications as set forth in the CHFA Seller s Guide. Through HomeConnection, Participating Lenders may check the loan status, edit a reservation, cancel a reservation, view loan forms and letters, and electronically deliver documents. Please contact a CHFA Business Development Specialist to create an account. Please note: You may need to create an account if you have changed companies or are having issues resetting your password. 1
4 chapter 1 login screen After speaking with your CHFA Business Development Specialist, your account will be created and you will be granted an agreed-upon level of access. An with your temporary password will be sent by CustomerServiceDesk@chfainfo.com and the subject will be CHFA HomeConnection Account Information. (figure 1) The will contain your temporary password and a link to a Password Reset page. Once you are on the Password Reset page, reset your password by entering the temporary password and then entering the new password in the appropriate fields. figure 1 2
5 forgot password 1. Click Forgot Password. (figure 2) figure 2 2. Enter your user name and registered in the fields provided. 3. Click Reset Password to have a temporary password sent to the registered address. (figure 3) figure 3 3
6 4. You will be prompted to accept the terms and conditions of HomeConnection usage. If you agree, click I Agree. (figures 4, 5) figure 4 figure 5 4
7 5. Enter your user name and current or temporary password, then enter a new password and confirm the new password. Click Change. (figure 6) figure 6 6. You will now return to the login page. Enter your user name and new password and click Log In. (figure 7) figure 7 5

9 2. Enter the address that was used to set up your HomeConnection account and click Send User Name. (figure 10) figure A message will appear informing you that your user name has been sent to the address provided. (figure 11) figure 11 7
10 4. The will come from with a subject line of CHFA HomeConnection Account Information. Your HomeConnection user name will be displayed in the body of the . You will also find a link to navigate back to HomeConnection. (figure 12) figure Once back on the HomeConnection login page, enter your user name and password and click Log In. 12 top links At the top of every page are helpful links to other pages outside of the system. (figure 15) The rates link will open the Daily Rates page on chfainfo.com in a new browser window. The links & forms link will open the Forms and Informational Documents page on chfainfo.com, which lists all program-related documents. Finally, the chfainfo.com link will take you to chfainfo.com. header figure 15 The main header allows you to navigate to the Reservation Wizard, Pipeline, and Reports pages. (figure 16) You may also change your password or logout via links in the header. While you are logged in to the system, the main header will also display your user name. figure 16 10
13 chapter 2 pipeline The Pipeline page is where you are taken after logging in. (figure 17) Based on your agreed-upon HomeConnection site permissions, you will see only the loans in your personal pipeline, your branch s total pipeline, or your entire company s pipeline. figure 17 11
14 search bar Near the top of the page, there is a search bar. You can search the pipeline by borrower name, property address, Social Security number, or CHFA loan number. (figure 18) figure 18 12
15 filters Next to the search bar are filters that can be applied to your pipeline that allow you to filter by: Recent loans (reserved in the past 60 days), Expiring loans (set to expire in the next 30 days), and Expired loans. There is also an Advanced filter. On the Advance Search pop-up screen, you can choose to filter loans by status, branch, and reserved date range. You can also enter a search term. 16 loan listings Your default view shows 10 loans, but this can be increased to 25, 50, or 100 entries. (figure 20) figure 20 Loan records can be sorted by any of the columns: Loan Number, Borrower, Status, and Product. The sort can be performed in either ascending or descending order. 17 icons There are four navigable icons within the pipeline (figure 22): 1. Electronic Document Delivery 2. Edit 3. Forms 4. Cancel Reservation please note: A loan may be edited only if it is in Reserved status. figure 22 15
18 electronic document delivery CHFA s Document Delivery System allows lender staff to submit electronic loan files and documents for review by CHFA. 1. Click the Electronic Document Delivery icon. (figure 23) figure A Doc Delivery & Contact Info pop-up screen will appear. (figure 24) figure 24 16
19 3. Enter the lender staff member who will receive correspondence regarding suspends, approvals, and file check-in. 20 edit A loan may be edited only if it is in Reserved status.* 1. Click the Edit icon. (figure 26) figure You will be redirected to a page similar to the Reservation Wizard. * If the loan status has advanced to Compliance Approved status, contact Customer Service at CustomerServiceDesk@chfainfo.com or , or a Business Development Specialist for assistance. 3. Select the step that you would like to edit and click Update Reservation. (figure 27) figure 27 18
21 4. An Update Complete pop-up screen will appear. Click Return to Pipeline to navigate back to the Pipeline page. (figure 28) figure A new reservation letter will be ed, which will also be available for download under the Forms icon ( ).
22 forms The Forms icon allows you to view and download documents and letters associated with a particular loan. 1. Click the Forms icon ( ). 2. A Documents and Forms pop-up screen will appear. 3. Click on the links below Documents and Forms to view documents and letters,as well as download needed forms. (figure 29) figure 29 cancel reservation In order to cancel your reservation or a reservation made by another person in your company, you must have the appropriate access level set up by CHFA staff. 1. Click the Cancel Reservation icon. (figure 30) figure 30
23 2. A Cancel Loan pop-up window will appear. 3. Select a reason for cancelling the loan from the dropdown menu. You can add additional comments in a text box below the dropdown reason, if applicable. (figure 31) figure Click Cancel Reservation. 5. You will be asked to confirm the cancellation. Click Yes, cancel my reservation or No, I don t want to cancel my reservation. (figure 32) figure 32
24 6. A confirmation pop-up window will appear. (figure 33) figure A cancellation letter will be mailed to the person who reserved the loan. (figure 34) figure HomeConnection will now show a Cancelled status for the loan. (figure 35) figure 35
25 view loan details 1. Click the icon in first column to expand the details of the loan record. 2. The icon will change to a icon when expanded. 3. Click the icon to hide the details. (figure 36) figure 36
26 chapter 3 reservation wizard The Reservation Wizard is the means by which you enter required data for a loan that you are submitting to CHFA for purchase consideration. By default, the program options available to you will reflect the programs for which you are approved to make a reservation. A progress bar noting your present step in the reservation process is at the top of the window. (figure 37) Green shading indicates the step(s) that are completed or are currently being completed. You can click on any green-shaded step to return to it. figure 37
27 step 1: product selection You can select a loan program through either the Filter menu or the Products menu. 1. Filter: Filter according to loan type, mortgage insurance preference, down payment assistance preference, loan purpose, and/or CHFA program. (figure 38) a. Multiple filters can be used. Clear the filter by clicking Clear Filters. figure 38
28 2. Products: Search for keywords from the Program, Product, and Description columns by using the search bar. (figure 39) a. The columns are also sortable in ascending/descending order. figure 39
29 3. Click Select next to the program under which you would like to make a reservation. (figure 40) figure Click Next near the top of the page.
30 step 2: loan information 1. Enter all required information denoted by a red asterisk. (figure 41) figure 41 If required information isn t entered, you will not be able to advance to the next step. Required fields will be listed at the top of the page and outlined in red for easier identification. (figure 42) figure 42

37 chapter 4 reports Your access to reports in HomeConnection is based upon a permission level agreement between CHFA and your company. Reports (figure 50) can be used to: 1. View loan documents that are outstanding; 2. Review production data for yourself, the branch you belong to, or your entire company; or 3. Analyze your company s results in the areas of loan performance, suspense rates, and reservation expirations. figure 50
