1 GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger (optional GPS) TCP Modbus GSX8 TCP Switch Software Version Revision [V3NE2P] In TCP Client mode, GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger will initiate the data upload to central server on schedule or alarm triggered. Server only needs to wait for the data incoming from data logger. Under normal operation, GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger works in TCP Client mode. GSX8 Setup Software will configure GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger as TCP Client mode by default. In TCP Server mode, Modbus software will send command to GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger asking for the data. GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger will not initiate any data upload. In TCP Server mode: GSN8 Data Logger will NOT initiate data upload via GPRS and Ethernet GSN8 Data Logger will send live data upon receipt of TCP Modbus command from external system GSN8 Data Logger will send alarm data via GPRS GSN8 Data Logger will send alarm SMS External system (e.g. ModScan or BMS) will send TCP Modbus command to data logger asking for live data. GSX8 TCP Switch is a software tool to switch GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger between TCP Server Mode and TCP Client Mode. ~ 1 ~

7 GSN4 / GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger Exit Setup Software before running GSX8 TCP Switch. (4) Run GSX8 TCP Switch. It will turn data logger to TCP Server mode. Select the Data Logger IP Address. Click [Server Mode] button ~ 7 ~

8 Display [Change Mode Success] [Server Mode] LED turns green, click [Finish] to exit. ~ 8 ~

9 GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger Modbus Address Table Run the GSX8 TCP Switch to change GSN8 Ethernet Data Logger into TCP Server Mode. Make use of Modbus scanner or third party SCADA to read the data from data logger.
