2 Battery 1 Begin to disassemble the LG Nexus 4 by removing the back cover. Locate the two T5 torx screws that are located on either side of the micro USB dock port. Remove the two screws with the appropriate screwdriver. 2 Next, insert the plastic opening tool in the notch in the back cover of the Nexus 4. Pry at this point to release the clips holding the cover to the smartphone. You can now remove the back cover from the LG E With the back cover off, the battery is visible. The battery has two Phillips screws (#00) securing its terminal to the LG phone. Remove the two screws to release the battery from the Nexus 4. Page 2 of 8

3 4 With the terminal screws removed, the battery can easily be removed. It is secured down with a small amount of adhesive. Use the spudger to separate the battery from the adhesive securing it to the LG E Locate and remove the two Phillips screws (#00) holding the loudspeaker to the smartphone with the appropriate screwdriver. 6 Use the spudger to maneuver and remove the loudspeaker assembly out of its housing in the Nexus 4. 4 Headphone Jack 7 Locate and remove the nine Phillips screws (#00) that secure the internal plastic cover/housing to the LG smartphone. 8 With the securing screws removed, the plastic cover can be removed from the LG Nexus 4. 9 Use the spudger to pry the headphone jack connection from its location. This will allow you to lift and remove the headphone jack out of the Nexus 4. Page 4 of 8

5 Rear-Facing Camera 10 Use the spudger to release the large display assembly connection, and then peel it up from the motherboard. 11 Continuing with the spudger, pry and release the connection for the rear-facing camera from the LG E960. You can now remove the rear-facing camera from the Nexus 4. SIM Card Tray 12 Use the SIM card ejection tool, or a paperclip, to remove the SIM card holder from the side of the LG Nexus 4. 6 13 Two ribbon cable plugs and one antenna connector secure the motherboard to the LG smartphone. Use the spudger to gently pry up, release, and then remove these three connections. 14 With all of the connections released from the motherboard, the motherboard is now free to lift and remove from the body of the LG Nexus 4. Front-Facing Camera 15 The front-facing camera is still secured to the bottom side of the motherboard. Use the spudger to swipe at and release its connection. You can now remove the front-facing camera from the Nexus 4. Page 6 of 8

7 Dock Port Assembly 16 The dock port assembly is secured with a small amount of adhesive. Use the spudger to peel up and remove this assembly from the LG Nexus 4. Display Assembly 17 Use the heat gun or blow drier to heat the adhesive securing the LCD and touch screen assembly to the smartphone s frame. 18 To begin the separation of the display assembly from the plastic frame, insert the plastic opening tool in the earpiece speaker s opening to begin prying the display assembly from the plastic frame. Continue to work the plastic opening tool around the perimeter of the display assembly until it is completely seperated from the frame. Page 7 of 8
