8 V-Series Part of the LX 80/90xx system V-series variometers are part of the LX 80xx/90xx systems. The new generation consist of an Inertial platform and a graphical needle instead of a mechanical needle (V9), as a result, the response of the variometer is much faster and more accurate. 9 S-Series Stand-alone variometers LXNAV has the most advanced vario systems available today. They all have a built in inertial platform (3 axis accelerometer, 4 axis gyros) which are used for precise wind calculation, AHRS and fast vario response. In the latest vario s, the mechanical needle is replaced by a graphic needle. This graphical needle responds faster than a stepper motor used for driving a conventional mechanical needle.
