1 How to setup Garmin vivosmart HR for Mac Login to your mynuvita.com account. Locate the cardio panel on the home page (as shown in the image on the right) that includes the message set up cardio monitor! click here and click on it. Note: If you do not see the cardio panel shown in the image on the right, from your mynuvita.com home page select Cardio (or Cardio 360) on the menu at the top, then on the next page select the Setup my Cardio monitor with Garmin link on the lower left under Cardio Resources. You will be taken to the Garmin monitor setup page shown on the right. Print the instructions listed under Step 1, or follow the steps in this document, these are the same instructions. Complete step 2 (shown in the image below) by clicking the link Click here to authorize Garmin Connect. Note: you should not skip this step unless the area highlighted in red below states that your Nuvita account is already linked to a Garmin Connect account. If you already have a Garmin Connect account, use the login credentials for that account, or click the link to create an account. NOTE: This is not your mynuvita.com credentials. Most new Garmin users will not have an existing Garmin Connect account and need to create one. By clicking Create One you will enter the required information to create your Garmin Connect account.

2 Enter all of the required fields and click Create Account. Note: The display name must be unique within Garmin s database, so you may need to put some numbers or extra letters in the display name, such as John334455, or Johnxyz. Once you have created your account you will be directed back to the Garmin setup page on mynuvita.com. Complete step 3 by clicking the link to install Garmin Express for Mac. Once the download is complete locate it and click to install. When this screen appears, click it to begin installing the software. The next several screens will guide you through the install. Follow the prompts as directed.

3 You have now successfully install Garmin Connect. Click Close.

4 If you haven t already done so, press and hold the button on the vivosmart HR until it turns on. Connect the charging clip securely to the vivosmart HR and plug the cable into a usb port on your computer. Locate Garmin Connect and open the software and click Get Started. Make sure the vivosmart HR is connected to a USB port on the Mac. Wait until your device is found. When it finds your device Click Add Device. If your device is not found, click Search Again and make sure the usb cable if firmly connected.

5 Give your device a nickname so it will be easy to identify, such as Bob s Vivosmart HR. Fill out your profile information and click Next. Select your preference about Anonymous Data Collection and click Finish. If you get this setup complete screen, click Close, don t click Go to Garmin Connect. Congratulations! Your Vivosmart HR is all set up and ready for you to start recording heart rate sessions. The following instructions show how to record a heart rate session, and help you get the most out of your device.

6 Vivosmart HR Basic Functions How to Record a Heart Rate Session on Your Vivosmart HR In order to record heart rate sessions and send them to mynuvita.com, you must start the timer, workout, stop the timer to save the session, and sync the vivosmart HR with your computer. 1. Press the device key to view the menu. 2. Select. 3. Select Run, Cardio or Other for the activity type. 4. Press the device key to start the timer and begin exercising. 5. Swipe left or right while the timer is running to view additional data screens. 6. Press the device key to stop the timer when you are done. Then press a. to save the session. b. to discard the session. 7. Sync the device with the computer that has Garmin Express installed on it by connecting the usb cable to the vivosmart HR and plugging the cable into a usb port on the computer. Garmin Express should automatically sync in a minute or two. Wearing the Device 1. Wear the device at least an inch above your wrist bone. 2. The device should be snug but comfortable on your wrist. It should not move during exercise. 3. Do not damage the heart rate sensor on the back of the device. 4. Warm up for 5 minutes and get a heart rate reading before starting your activity. 5. In cold environments warm up indoors if possible until you get a heart rate reading. 6. Rinse the device with fresh water after each workout Device Overview: Touchscreen: Swipe left or right to scroll through screens. Tap to select. Device key: Hold to turn on/off the device. Press to open/close the menu. Press to start/stop the timer. Charge Your Device Plug the usb cable into a usb port on your computer. Allign the charger posts with the contacts on the back of the device, and press the charger until it clicks.

7 Touchscreen Tips From the time of day screen, swipe left or right to scroll through activity tracking data features. Press the device key, and swipe left or right to scroll through menu options. During a timed activity, swipe left or right to view data screens. Tap the touchscreen to make a selection. Make each touchscreen selection a separate action. Select to return to the previous screen. Move Bar After one hour of inactivity, the move bar appears. Additional segments appear after every 15 minutes of inactivity. You can reset the move bar by walking a short distance. Icons Battery Rechargeable built-in lithium-ion battery. Non-replaceable. Up to 5 days between charges. Resetting the Device (soft reset) If the device stops responding, you may need to reset it. This does not erase any of your data or settings.

8 1. Hold the device key for about 10 seconds. The device turns off. 2. Hold the device key for one second to turn it back on.
