3 1.0 Product Application The Local Stereo Input Module is designed for a local input audio source to be connected to the Clipsal Audio Solutions Distributed Audio System. The 3.5mm audio jack when inserted into the audio input wall plate disconnects the main source and enables the local input source to be listened to from that zone. 6 3.0 Installation Guide continued Local input wall plate with RED local input source connected to the wall plate. The zone is supplied by both the local input source (RED) and the main stereo input (Blue). When the local input is physically connected it isolates the main stereo input (Blue) and enables the local Input (RED). 7 4.0 4 Zones Loop Wired Four zone can be looped wired together from one stereo input module (3105SIMPS) and all zones can have a local input wall plate (3105LSIM) so that each zone can listen to their own audio source or the main audio source. When the local input wall plate has an audio source connected to the 3.5mm audio socket the local source will override the main audio source. 8 5.0 4 Zones Star Wired Four zone can be star wired together from one stereo input module (3105SIMPS) and all zones can have a local input wall plate (3105LSIM) so that each zone can listen to their own audio source or the main audio source. When the local input wall plate has an audio source connected to the 3.5mm audio socket the local source will override the main audio source. 9 6.0 7 Zones Star Wired Seven zone can be star wired together from one stereo input module (3105SIMPS) using the audio distribution Junction Box (3105ADJB APS24V power supply) and all zones can have a local input wall plate (3105LSIM) so that each zone can listen to their own audio source or the main audio source. When the local input wall plate has an audio source connected to the 3.5mm audio socket the local source will override the main audio source. When the local input audio source is unplugged the main source will be reconnected. 10 7.0 Shared Zones Multiple zones can be connected to the one local stereo input module by looping from one volume control to another volume control. This feature is very handy for two zones close together. For example the outdoor entertaining area and the main entertaining area may be connected by a sliding door and be only meters apart. The local input source can supply two audio zones with the same audio source. (If two zones close together are playing different audio sources then the the sound of each zone will interfere with the other and the resultant sound effect will be poor). 11 8.0 Connection of cabling Ensure that all Category cabling is terminated as per the correct colour code and that all cables are punched down correctly (visual inspection). Ensure that the correct polarity is maintained on the fi gure 8 cabling and the terminations are tight and secure. Ensure that no cable strands are protruding from their terminals that could cause a potential short circuit. The green LED will be illuminated when the power supply is connected to the system. 9.0 Safety Precautions DO NOT connect the power supply to the 3105SIMPS or the 3105ADJB stereo inputs until all the cable terminations have been made. Failure to do so may result in a short circuit and possible damage of the Audio Solutions products. DO NOT attempt to terminate, change or uninstall any wiring without fi rst disconnecting the power supply(s) from the Audio Solutions Systems. DO NOT expose any component to moisture. Doing so can create electrical hazards or render the component unusable. Exposure to moisture will also void the warranty on the Clipsal Audio System Trouble Shooting Green LED not illuminated when system is powered: Check Figure 8 cable connections and polarity. Check power supply is plugged in and turned on. Local input source not activated when plugged in: Ensure that the local source is turned on and the volume set to the appropriate level. Ensure that the volume control is connected to the output connection and not the loop connection. 11 of 12
