1 CHAPTER 2 Configuring Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing This chapter describes how to configure the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace web server including various Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing services and tools. See the following sections: About Proxy Servers, page 2-1 About the Cisco MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Service, page 2-2 About the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Gateway Systems Integrity Manager, page 2-3 About the Online Administrative Interface, page 2-11 About Restricted Meeting ID Patterns, page 2-14 About the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Reference Center, page 2-15 About Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Templates, page 2-19 About Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Profiles and Access, page 2-24 About Video Terminal Profiles, page 2-26 About Guest Access, page 2-27 About Configuring the Web Server, page 2-28 About Proxy Servers Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing supports most proxy servers on the market. However, we have found that it is incompatible with iplanet Proxy 3.5. If you are accessing Web Conferencing through a proxy server, set the proxy server as follows: Do not block Java code. Timeout value from 120 seconds to 300 seconds. Cache expiration policy set to Explicit Expiration Information Only. 2-1

2 About the Cisco MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Service Chapter 2 About the Cisco MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Service MeetingPlace Web (MPWEB) and Data Conference Meeting Server (DCMS) databases. If any services fail, the Cisco MeetingPlace Web Conferencing master service automatically restarts and a major alarm is sent to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server. The master service is turned on automatically after any reboot or upgrade, at which point it monitors all subsidiary services and runs a database configuration and import tool. If the database version is not up to date, the tool updates the database schema. Similarly, if the database needs to import new strings, the tool imports them. See the following sections: Stopping All Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services, page 2-2 Restarting All Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services, page 2-3 Stopping All Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services You must stop all Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing services before you do certain procedures, including Gateway SIM upgrades and configuration changes. To Stop All Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services From the Windows Start menu, choose Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services Cisco MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Stop Stop Step 5

3 Chapter 2 About the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Gateway Systems Integrity Manager Restarting All Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services To Restart All Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services About the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Gateway Systems Integrity Manager Gateway SIM Agent Resides on the web server in the MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations Utility and sends scheduled updates to the Gateway SIM Manager. Gateway SIM Manager Resides on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server system. If the Gateway SIM Manager does not receive these updates when expected, it logs a major alarm to the Alarm Table. Figure 2-1 illustrates the Gateway SIM Agent, which is located in the MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations utility. 2-3

Use the Installation Key value from the MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations utility as the Ethernet Address for the gateway unit. The Audio Server system begins to initiate a connection to the gateway unit. The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing server is configured to point to a particular Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server system. To update the Audio Server system that this Web Conferencing server points to, delete both the MPWEB and MPWEB-Slave databases that it uses by completing the following procedure. If you have only one MPWEB-Slave database, use the osql command to find its exact name, and then delete the MPWEB-Slave database as instructed in the procedure below. If you have more than one MPWEB-Slave database, open the registry and determine the exact name of each database by checking the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Connection\DCMS\Admin\DBName. When you finish, close the registry. In this procedure, we refer to the web server machine as a unit. Stop the Cisco MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Service and Gateway SIM Service. For instructions, see the To Stop All Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services procedure on page 2-2. Do not restart services until you have completed this procedure. Open the Gateway SIM Agent. Open the MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations utility. For instructions, see the To Open the MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations Utility procedure on page 2-6.
