1 Introduction VERIZON MDM USER MANUAL ADDENDUM 3(43) This user guide describes the features of Broadband Hotspot Management. For other Verizon MDM features, please refer to the Verizon MDM User Guide. 2 Log In With your web browser, navigate to and select admin Sign-In. Enter your Verizon credentials to log in to the Verizon MDM portal Figure 1 Verizon MDM Login screen Figure 2 Administrator Authentication screen 2.1 Verizon MDM Dashboard The Device Service Dashboard is the first screen that appears after logging in to Verizon MDM. It provides an overview of the different device services (Devices, Licenses, Firmware). Figure 3 Device Services Dashboard

4(43) 2.2 Broadband Hotspot Management Broadband Hotspot Management enables customers to provision, configure, monitor and control all of their deployed broadband devices simultaneously. This control can be deployed in a grouped or per device level. User access to these devices can be controlled in a number of ways. Customers can also choose to limit broadband access to the owner or to the group to which the owner belongs. SSID/password pairs can be distributed to the broadband devices so as to maintain granted access. Additional device permissions and network configurations can be set and subsequently deployed over the air through the Verizon MDM Portal. The Broadband Hotspot Management feature is part of the Mobility Services portfolio of Verizon MDM. After logging into Verizon MDM, from the Device Services Dashboard (see figure 3 above), select Mobility Services from the drop-down menu beside the Verizon MDM logo to switch to the Mobility Services Dashboard. Figure 4 Mobility Services Dashboard Clicking on Devices or Users in the Dashboard will toggle the chart to show the total number of devices or users existing within the account. The Broadband Hotspot tray opens up to show the license management details of the service: Total Licenses number of Broadband Hotspot Management licenses purchased Total Licenses Available number of licenses not utilized and available for use Licensed Devices number of devices using a license Devices not Licensed number of compatible devices not using a license Licenses are assigned to devices when these are activated for management. They are subsequently un-assigned when the management is removed and the devices are archived. The Edit Activations button enables the activation of a device for management. Clicking on the button opens up the Edit Actions pop-up menu, devices can be added and removed (with filtering available per device make and model). Note: a device de-activation will result in the device being factory reset.

5(43) Figure 5 Edit Activations The Assign Policy button enables the easy assignment of a policy (or policies) to licensed devices. Clicking on the button opens up the policy assignment pop-up, policies can be assigned and un-assigned (with filtering available per device make and model). Note: policies must first be created before they can be assigned see policy creation section below.

6(43) Figure 6 Edit Policies 2.3 Devices & Groups The Devices & Group menu enables Administrators to manage all their Devices, Users and Groups. A specific Dashboard provides additional details on all of these. Figure 6 Devices & Groups Clicking on Devices or Users will toggle the chart to show further details of these. Different tabs are available to access the Group, Device or User functionality.

7(43) Groups The Groups tab lists all the existing groups, showing the number of users and devices in each group (note: a device and user can belong to multiple groups). The list can be sorted by clicking on each column header. Clicking on a group name will navigate to the group page information, which displays the same information as the Mobility Services Dashboard page, just specific to the selected group. Clicking the Add New Group button opens the page to create a new group. Figure 7 Create Group Group Name each group must have a unique name Add New Devices/Users to group - check the boxes if all new Device and/or Users are to be subsequently and automatically added to the group Group Memberships toggle between user and device group management Devices/Users in group devices/users already in the group are listed and can be removed by clicking on the trashcan icon Filter - Devices to be added can be filtered by make an model Filtered Devices/Users select the users/devices to be added to the group Devices The Devices tab lists all available devices which can be ranked by clicking on a column header.

Clicking on a device will navigate to the Device Profile page (see above) 2.4 Policy Group Memberships - lists group membership of the user Profile displays information about the user (name, , etc.), password reset and user deactivation. The Policy menu enables Administrators to manage all the device policies. The Policy Dashboard displays the number of policies created and assigned to devices. Different tabs are available to access the Policies and Policy Assignment.

13(43) Click on the desired policy type to open its configuration page. After a policy has been created it can be assigned to a group or groups through the Edit Policy page of each group (see above). Events & Actions An Events & Actions policy allows an administrator to define custom and/or dynamic events to trigger actions. This allows the automation of notifications, group assignments, device commands and more. - creation of alerts (e.g. device out of compliance) - automatic group assignments (e.g. based on AD attributes returned to Verizon MDM) - automatic device commands

14(43) - user notifications - user management Event Types Assigned Applications Customer Status Device Property Value Installed Application LDAP Group Membership Radius User Property Value Action Types De-Activate User Group Assignment Issue Device Command Notification Set Device Ownership Each action is triggered by an event, such as a device reporting usage information, a device not checking-in within a certain time-frame, the user belonging to a new group. Based on a single event, multiple actions can be triggered in succession.

15(43) 2.5 Additional Information & troubleshooting Devices are automatically assigned to the All Devices Group. Use the grouping feature of the Verizon MDM portal to put your devices into groups which match your organizational structure. If configurations are not being deployed to devices, check that the IMEI and MDN (phone number) pair on the device are the same as those references in the Verizon MDM portal. If they are not the same and not updated within 24 hours, please contact Verizon technical support. Broadband Hotspot Management requires that devices are updated to the latest available firmware. If devices are connecting via a Verizon Mobile Private Network connection the devices must be able to access verizonmdm.vzw.com on port 443 (https) to receive their configurations and post reporting data.
