In this catalog you will find the following new features: CONTROLS: The successful and robust VIPA 300S series is now extended with the new EtherCAT CPU. Combined with the EtherCAT-manager is a solution available to use this bussystem finaly in Step7. The very popular SLIO CPU will be available as Motion controller with EtherCAT Bus. We await also the famous Speed7 Studio Engineering Software of VIPA which will combine Step7, Motion Control, Scada, Drives- and Busconfiguration. It will help to make programming of VIPA and YASKAWA product s more economical and efficienty. DRIVES & MOTION: YASKAWA offers matching packages with gearboxes and servo motors. As of mid-2015, the new Sigma-7 Servo drives are available,with 20% smaller motors with high efficiency and a 24-bit encoder. Sigma-7 servo drives achieve SIL 3 PerformancePevel PL-e, they have a speedregulator bandwidth up to 3.1 khz and they are equiped with EtherCAT, Mechatrolink II and III or have an analog/puls-train interface on board. 6 SLIO The smart I/O system CPU-Modules with Instruction Set S7-300 /S7-400 by SIEMENS SPEED7 BY VIPA VERY FAST STEP 7-CPUS PLC Faster than the similar STEP 7 programable products, VIPA offers SPEED7, the technology of tomorrow, based on a million times proven STEP 7-programming platform. A flexible memory management covers all possible applications from 64kByte to 512kByte. Program and data are stored in a power failsafe NVS-RAM which functions without batteries. A plugable VSC-Card allows con-figuration as well as project and data saving in a PC-compatible format. An absolute sensation is the possibility to expand CPU-functions also with this VSC-Card. An Ethernet- Port for PG/OP communication and an MPI-Port is always on Board. PROFIBUS-Slave or PROFIBUS-Master can be activated on demand. You only pay for what you need. Stocking is reduced to 2 types of CPUs. It is very easy and costefficient to transfer data between PROFIBUS and PROFINET. Old and new installations can be connected easily. Preexisting panels, able to commicate via MPI- Port, are compatible. An Ethernet Port supporting PG/OP-protocoll is onboard as a standard as well as an RS485-port for PtP-communication with ModbusRTU Master/Slave ASCII, 3964R, USS. 8 SLIO The smart I/O system Bus Terminals Demand for more compact and flexible automation solutions with reasonable price-performance ratio has been constantly increasing. With the completely new development of the I/O system SLIO, VIPA is setting a further standard in the automation sector. The VIPA I/O system SLIO combines high functionality with an intelligent mechanical concept with an extremely compact design. SLIO is a synonym for Slice-I/O. With its very compact design, the system can be set-up step by step to meet exactly the requirements of the application. The Interface Modules (IM) for PROFIBUS-DP, CANopen, PROFINET, EtherCAT and Modbus are supporting up to 64 Electronic Modules (EM). The Power Modules(PM), which are contrasting in colour to Signal Modules (SM) and Function Modules (FM), supply voltage to the Electronic Modules. Decoupled potential groups can be defined if required. The Electronic Modules are connected to the Terminal Module TM using a secure plug-in mechanism. The Terminal Module comprises clamp, connection of Electronic Modules and mechanical bus connector. Therefore in case of maintenance or repair only the Electronic Module will be exchanged by simply pulling it out of the Terminal Module. Wiring and mounting on the 35mm DIN rail will remain unchanged. The staircase-shaped cage clamps on the Terminal Module offer fast, clear and secure wiring. With the integrated state LEDs and the labelling strip on the front an exact state monitoring of channels on the Electronic Module is possible. The new backplane bus system with a transmission rate of 48Mbit/s offers very short response times with a signal processing of less than 20µs. SLIO is one of the most powerful and cost-effective decentral systems available on the market. 11 PLC SLIO The smart I/O system Bus Terminals SAFETY THE CONCEPT SAFETY OF VIPA Already with the first considerations for the access in the Safety technology, it was certain for VIPA, that the concept should fit to network with PROFIBUS and PROFINET based on the use of the PROFIsafe protocol. In the first stage of development, the Safety modules are integrated decentralised as Slave Modules into an available network. For VIPA customers this means that the Safety modules can be installed directly without additional bus system in the existing network structure. The modular equipment construction is oriented in the safety requirements which reduces the wiring expenses, the clearness is raised and extensions are possible without big expenses. The VIPA Safety concept allows to merge standard and Safety modules within a station. Also the use of all other safety PLCs is of course possible. The first fail-safe modules in the system SLIO will be 4-channel digital Safety-input, module and 4-channel Safety-output modules. The SLIO system, which nowadays is estab lished in many equipments worldwide as a standard, offers considerable space-saving in the panel, due to its very compact construction form. A new highly competitive backplane concept allows transmission rates of 48 MBit/s which qualifies as a very quick communication of the modules. The mechanical concept with the separation of electronics and wiring module minimises the mounting and maintenance expenses. 12 SLIO The smart I/O system Bus Terminals ETS TIMESTAMP SYSTEM PLC On a SLIO interface module all SLIO slices have the same time base. This time base has a resolution of 1 µs and a synchronism from slice to slice of ± 85 ns. For PROFIBUS DP-V2 (isochronous mode) it is already possible to synchronize the time bases of several SLIO interface modules and each connected slice to a synchronism of ± 5 µs. The underlying synchronization mechanism is field bus independent and will be available for other bus systems in the future. There are digital input and output modules with order memory (FIFO) available to buffer the signal edges. These terminals are marked with the abbreviation ETS (Edge Timestamp System). SLIO ETS offers a temporal significantly improved exactness at the µs area for all supported field bus systems. THE ETS-PRINCIPLE WITH ET200S Siemens CPu with EtS200S via PRoFInEt Recording of the inputs exactly to the µs Connecting the outputs exactly to µs The definition of the task: On a rotating slice an overprint is to be made clearly and distinctly readable. The slice rotates at a speed of up to revs. per minute, which corresponds approx. to 12 milliseconds per revolution and so reaches a circumferential speed of 31 meters per second or 31 mm per millisecond respectively. To ensure that the overprint is clearly readable, the slice always has to be illuminated at each revolution at exactly the same position of the rotation, to create the impression of a standing picture. The solution: Each slice has a mark, which is scanned by a light barrier sensor. The impulse of this sensor is sent to the controller, processed and passed on to an output. This output controls a LED-flash. Only when the controller including the decentral I/O systems succeeds in capturing the impulse from the mark on the slice and controlling the LED exactly at the right time, a stationary and clear picture will be created which can be distinguished by our eyes. Application with a Siemens CPU and ET200S decentral via PROFINET: A counter is used for the determination of the moment when the impulse will occur. This counter is read permanently in a free-running OB1 of the controller. Divergencies/Jitter results from the 250µs PROFINET IRT cycle and the OB1 cycle. Since there is no timebase more exact than 1ms available in this controller. A time base of its own is created internally by the performance of a loop. The setting of the output is created by a direct access to the periphery. So divergency occurs additio nal in the next 250µs PROFINET cycle. On this version it is clearly visible that the writing on the rotating slice is not readable. It was expected that the PROFINET communication in the application would bring a significant advantage in speed against the PROFIBUS communication. But the result was different: The cycle time of e.g. 2ms for the OB1 still exists. Even with big time effort trying to create new cycle calculations and taking all tricks into consideration it was not possible to control a periodically flashing LED in the way that the text on the rotating slice can be read clearly. Application with SLIO and ETS function via PROFIBUS: By means of the FIFO memory which is integrated in the SLIO ETS modules, the ETS modules are able to store the time of the impulse in μs. This value gets via Profibus assigned to the PLC. Using this value the PLC calculates the speed and time when the writing is at the preferred position and sends this information via PROFIBUS to the SLIO ETS output clamp. The output clamp now turns the LED on and off, so the LED sends out a light signal for 10μs the required time. WITHOUT ETS VIPA SPEED7 PLC, SLIo modules without EtS function via PRoFIBuS WITH ETS VIPA SPEED7 PLC, SLIo modules with EtS function via PRoFIBuS It should especially be pointed out that this fast processing is also possible via PROFIBUS- DP/PROFINET/EtherCAT and CANopen and does not necessarily depend on the applied CPU.
