This is an exciting time to be working in the test and measurement industry. Rapid advances in technology have allowed companies like ZTEC to develop solutions for increasingly complex test challenges. In particular, modular instrumentation is delivering more flexible, powerful, and costeffective solutions when compared to traditional benchtop instruments. This is particularly true for automated test systems that integrate a wide variety of instruments requiring minimal human interaction. In some cases, modular instrumentation can be limited. For instance, most modular instruments do not provide the ease of use and convenience commonly associated with traditional instrument interfaces. Due to these limitations, many users, such as designers and troubleshooters, never discover the benefits of modular instruments. ZTEC plans to minimize these limitations and maximize the value of modular instruments. We believe that test and measurement solutions of the future will benefit from a convergence of modular and traditional instrument technologies. ZTEC leads this convergence by providing modular instrumentation products packed with traditional instrument features. The most recent example is our award winning ZT4610 family of digital storage oscilloscopes. The ZT4610 is an industry leading modular instrument with banner specifications comparable to traditional instruments in its class. In addition, we have taken great strides to make the ZT4610 easy to use by providing an intuitive software interface that mimics the hard front panel of a traditional oscilloscope. We are aggressively working on a roadmap inspired by this convergence of modular and traditional instruments. In the near future, ZTEC will release our first stand-alone LXI-compliant modular products which leverages LAN connectivity. This is just the first of many innovations on the horizon.
