3 1 General 1.1 Introduction Rotex ECG monitor is a new wearable ECG monitor based on E-tattoo technology. It is designed to monitor electrocardiogram (ECG) and heartrate in real-time, collect and transfer the raw data to your cell phone or tablet. It is composed of disposable E-tattoo which measures ECG and heartrate and data collector which contains built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery and collects and transfers the ECG and heartrate data to your cell phone or tablet via Bluetooth. 1.2 Package contents a. It accurately monitors the dynamic ECG and heartrate even during intensive exercises. It has signal-to-noise ratio comparable with traditional medical electrode statically, and far better dynamically. It provides clean and reliable raw data with unique signal process technology and SoC chip solution. It has low-power consumption design and long-life battery. It supports Android and open API. It supports analog output to enable ECG collection and analysis. It has built-in driven right leg circuit to reduce common-mode interference. It returns to baseline rapidly. 3

4 2 Precautions Read this manual carefully before using your E-tattoo ECG monitor. 2.1 Safety Notices Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitors are not intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of any disease or condition in humans or animals. Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitors are only for application on normal, intact, clean and healthy skin. Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitors have not been tested on individuals who have a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted medical devices, be aware of which and consult with your doctor before using the device if you have a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted medical devices. Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitors have not been tested on pregnant women, be aware of which and consult with your doctor before using the device if you are pregnant. Individuals allergic to adhesives or silicone should not wear the Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitors. Do not wear the Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitors in the bath or shower. Do not expose the Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitors to excessive heat or fire, dishwashers, clothes dryers, autoclaves, or other industrial cleaning processes. 2.2 Disposal The E-tattoo is disposable. Dispose it as electronic waste according to the local laws and regulations The data collector is reusable. One data collector can match up with different E-tattoos. The data collector contains a rechargeable lithium battery. Dispose it according to the local laws and regulations. 4

5 3 How to Use 3.1 First-time use Rotex E-tattoo ECG monitor only supports Android tablets or cell phones with Bluetooth 4.0. Connect the charging cable to the data collector, and connect the cable to a USB power source, charge for 45 minutes to full battery level. On your tablet or cell phone go to download and install the Rotex App. Enable the Bluetooth on your device and if requested allow the App to access your location while you use it. 3.2 How to wear your E-tattoo For better measurement accuracy, two different ways to wear the E-tattoo are designed respectively for purpose of measuring ECG& heartrate both and for purpose of measuring heartrate only. For ECG & heartrate measurement both: Peel off the backing paper of the adhesive side (the none-usb side). With the E-tattoo tilted and USB pointing to the bottom left, stick the adhesive side of the E-tattoo to your skin (for male: right side of the left chest near the nipple; for female: right side just below the left chest. See the outline drawings below). Then peel off backing paper of the surface side, connect the USB with the fully charged data collector, stick the data collector to your skin with medical tape. 6 For heartrate measurement only: Peel off the backing paper of the adhesive side (the none-usb side). With the E-tattoo horizontal and USB pointing to the left, stick the adhesive side of the E-tattoo to your skin just below your left chest (the same location for male and female both, see the outline drawings below). Then peel off the backing paper of the surface side, connect the USB with the data collector, stick the data collector to your skin with medical tape. Male Female 3.3 How to use Rotex App The Rotex App contains four sections: ECG, body temperature, blood pressure and breath. See section ECG only during use of E-tattoo ECG monitor. Open the Rotex App, tap Add device. 6

7 All the available devices are shown. Tap + to choose the device, wait a few seconds for it to connect. It s connected and shows your heat beat per minute (bpm). For ECG detection: tap the ECG diagram below the bpm. 7

8 Tap the start symbol to monitor ECG. Tap the stop symbol to stop the ECG monitoring when necessary. To check the ECG records, go back to the main screen and tap Records. 8

9 Tap Play to check the record. Tap + to zoom in, if necessary. Tap Y+ or Y- to zoom in or out lengthwise; Tap X+ or X- to zoom in or out widthwise. 3.4 Check the records on computer To check the ECG on your computer, find the file named ecgbra in your cell phone or tablet, import the file to your computer. Open RotexEcg.exe, choose the record in the file, run and check it. 9
