7 «MOVIDIUS» NCS BACKGROUND Intel s Neural Compute Stick is a USB size deep learning machine. It is not a GPU, and it can only be used for prediction/inference, not training. It is a co-processorwith only one purpose, running (forward-pass) neural network calculations, eg. for image classification. It integrates a Myriad 2 processor (28 nm), also known as a Vision Processing Unit (or vision accelerator) and it consumes only 1W of power 6 Copyright 2018 FUJITSU

8 NC SDK Workflow The workflow for NCS Use a pre-trained TensorFlow/Caffe model or train a network with Tensorflow/Caffe Use the NCS SDK toolchain to generate a graph file. With Python, use the NCS API to send the graph file to the NCS and request predictions on images. 7 Copyright 2018 FUJITSU
