1 Data Exchange Examples for a Test- BGR (Nomination and Balancing) (including changes due to GMMVO-amendment of April st, 3 AND Update per October st 3) Version: October 3

2 Content of this presentation Description of data exchange on the basis of a Test-BGR and a number of different transactions involving different system operators: Overview of balance group structure and transactions Overview of transaction-related messages being exchanged between BGR, system operators and MAM Detailed description of transactions Reasoning of upcoming BG imbalance and related information provided by the MAM Overview of EIC location codes in the Market Area East Communication details October 3

3 Initial situation of the example Exemplary, the gas day is considered from a day-ahead perspective. The company Testpartner Ltd. is Balance Group Representative (BGR) in the Market Area East, with two balance groups (BG) and one sub balance account (SBA): BGR 5X-TESTPARTNER4 BG 5Y-TEST Y-TEST------Z SBA 5Y-TEST-----V The BGR has submitted a number of nominations and consumer schedules. All relevant messages and underlying transactions are subsequently laid out. 3 October 3

However, an error in the nomination message causes a daily imbalance of BG. As the BGR does not compensate for this, the MAM triggers balancing of BG on the exchange. In BG various transactions are conducted. The balance group is balanced for the day and also on an hourly basis. In Murfeld and Arnoldstein also a sub balance account (SBA) is used by the BGR. 4 October 3

13 Detailed view on MAM balancing Daily balancing of BG Daily balancing of BG Within BG, capacity exits in Oberkappel, Murfeld and Arnoldstein are nominated. Within BG a number of different transactions are conducted. The demand of BG was planned to be covered by OTC trades on the VTP, but due to an incorrect nomination message this entry is not taking effect. BG takes a long position regarding the carry forward of D-, however the total position of BG still is short. The BGR is informed about the imbalance through imbalance notice by the MAM, but does not react. Nominations in Murfeld and Arnoldstein also include nominations for the SBA in BG. No carry forward is effective in BG. All transactions result on an hourly and daily basis in a completely balanced BG and no further actions are required. In order to balance BG, the MAM triggers an exchange order (on-behalf BGR) for BG. The remaining imbalance due to rounding will be tracked throughout the day and may eventually result in a carry-forward for D+. 3 October 3

25 Communication details Processing response in KISS-A (DATA_QUIT) Screenshot: Nomination at CEGH Screenshot: DATA_QUIT from CEGH Explanation: Due to an error of the BGR an unknown BG-code is stated as seller in the nomination of BG. Therefore the BGR receives from the system operator CEGH for this time series (column) a Not OK (NOK) including an error description. For the other two time series (columns), OK is reported by CEGH. This information is also reflected in the header (-OK and -NOK). As a consequence, the RES-revision for column C is changed to and all values from line 8 onwards are set to the last valid values (in this case ). 5 October 3
