4 Click2Drive Click2Drive is an automotive-elearning web application based on Microsoft and Adobe Technologies. t s a web-portal to help users to obtain talian driver licenses. For this project m Project Leader and Software Architect role (and Developer in its initial phase). This project is currently online and employs a team of 2 developers. t s a three layers application with two different presentation layers (one for web clients and one for smartphone/md devices). As DMBS we use SQL Server At this time, Click2Drive has about 20,000 users and offers a lot of services; most important are e-learning on-demand lessons and quiz simulations. n particular, e-learning on-demand lessons feature uses Adobe Media Streaming Server to manage the streaming of the teacher video, which speaks during the lesson and explains contents that automatically are loaded for user. E-learning content can be simple pictures, animations (flv video) or interactive sheets in Adobe Flash. PCM Product Catalogue Manager is a Cross Media Publishing project based on Microsoft and Adobe Technologies. t s a solution to support web-agency, printers and customers to manage the collecting, managing, editing, publishing (on paper, web and DVD) of products information. This project is evolving and employs a team of 4 developer (included me). For this project m Project Leader, Software Architect and Developer. The solution is based on a centralized logical database (there are more than one physical database, but users don t see them) where data are collected and maintained through a customized Content Management Block. As alternative, some customers prefer upload data using a Microsoft Excel file. Application imports all these different data-sources in a catalogue-independent database, that is a database with a high-level data structure. From an architectural point of view, there is a Windows Service that accesses to this database and offers features to web sites or clients to build paper pages or DVD images. Solutions uses plug-ins to manage catalogue-specific business rules. To define paper layout, printers (or graphic designers) prepare templates in Adobe ndesign (CS2-CS4), and to define layout behaviours (i.e. picture A has to be aligned to the top margin of title B) solution supports a custom scripting language we have defined. Web publishing involves classical ASP.ET solutions except that pages don t access to database directly, but call Windows Service (through WCF) to retrieve data in XML format. DVD publishing is quite similar to web publishing: user interface (for instance a WinForm application) accesses to data through a component that exposes same functions of Windows Services (it implements same interface). n this case, DBMS is SQL Server CE 3.5.
