2 Definitions A Property is a content item an editor can assign a value to A Block Type is set of Properties that can be accessed as an individual Property on a page A Page Type defines a set of Properties for a given page The Page Template defines how the Page Type data is rendered A Display Channel can be used to target different output channels such as a web, kiosk, mobile, print media, etc A Page is an instance of the.net class that defined the Page Type

Code-defined Page Types) Page Type inheritance, compile time error detection, etc Blocks Complex content objects. Great for re-use Separation of data and rendering Different renderings of the same content depending on context (multi-channel pages, shared blocks, etc) Full support for both Web Forms and MVC Choose the design pattern you prefer or combine

23 Sync Process for Typed Pages Assemblies in bin folder are scanned during site init Class types derived from EPiServer.Core.PageData are passed to the synchronization engine Synchronization engine will create a Page Type in CMS for each found with minimal info in DB Attribute (e.g. PageType) settings will be used in the merge process to create the in memory Page Type Public properties with public getter/setter will be added to Page Type created Property attributes can be used for setting values
