6 1. Business Scenario The starting point to implement a NetWeaver BPM solution is the blueprinting phase where you would document and specify the BPM requirements. Some of the technical requirements that are captured during Blueprinting are Business Process Flow models (BPMN diagrams), User Interfaces, Business Rules, Enterprise Services etc. Capturing such requirements directly within Business Process Blueprinting (BPB) and thereafter giving BPM developers access to the same requirements inside NWDS not only gives developers the overall context but also reduces the total cost of implementation. 2. Background Information It is assumed that the Blueprint Project is already created in Solution Manager and you have created a preliminary business process hierarchy inside SOLAR01/BPB. Ensure you have SAP NetWeaver BPM configured as a Logical Component inside your system landscape. 3. Prerequisites This document assumes the following: You have installed SAP Solution Manager 7.1. 7 4. Step-by-Step Procedure Discover the project structure 1. Open Business Process Blueprinting (BPB) tool from your desktop. Alternatively, choose StartAll ProgramsBusiness Process Blueprinting Business Process Blueprinting.exe to open the tool. 2. In the Dashboard Perspective, in the Log On screen area, click Connect to to connect to a Solution Manager system December

8 3. Enter your user name and password 4. In My Business Blueprint Projects screen area, choose Open an existing business blueprint. 5. In the Open Project dialog box, enter the project name into the project field or select one from the list of projects available in SAP Solution Manager system. For example, Millers project is December

9 selected here. Choose OK. Business Blueprint perspective page appears. 6. Perform the below mentioned steps to see the end to end project hierarchy a) Move the mouse pointer on the project name and choose Expand speed button. b) Move the mouse pointer on Business Scenarios and choose Expand speed button. c) Select a business scenario name and choose Expand speed button. d) Move the mouse pointer on Business Processes and choose Expand speed button. e) Select a Business Process and choose Expand speed button. Note: When expanded, You will see a list of business scenarios, processes and process steps for the Millers project, which are included into this project in earlier December

10 sessions or by former implementations. Extend the existing Business Process using SAP Netweaver BPM 1. In the Project Browser, choose Overview speed button of the business process. For example, here overview speed button for Incentive Processing in ERP is selected. December

11 Note: In the properties view of the project, check if the logical component SAP NetWeaver BPM is already configured in SMSY. 2. In the process multi page editor choose Process Flow tab to view the already existing Process Flow diagram. 3. Click on the edit button situated at the top left of the toolbar, to modify the Process Flow diagram (use the palette tools on the right to modify the diagram) December

12 4. If you want to create a flow diagram similar to the sample provided in the right, follow the below steps Create a new POOL and label it as SAP NETWEAVER BPM. Create a START EVENT and label it START MAP (manager approval process) Create a couple of PROCESS STEPS like Select the required manager, manager approval and so on. Create a CONDITION GATEWAY Approved : in case of approval ( Yes ) the MAP can end, and you can create an END EVENT. In case of missing approval, provide additional information to the manager, and connect back to PROCESS STEP Manager s approval December

13 Create a CONNECTION between end of the MAP and the calling standard process Create a CONNECTION between the process step in the standard process triggering the extension process in SAP NetWeaver BPM, and the START EVENT you have created before: indicate the connection between the standard process and the extension process Create finally an ÁNNOTATION to provide textual description to modelling elements 5. Save and Publish changes to Solution Manager Browse the Blueprint in NetWeaver Developer Studio 6. Open SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio by starting the client on your local computer: start it either via the desktop, or, the Windows start menu Open menu item WINDOW- SHOW VIEW-OTHER December

14 7. Click on SEARCH CONSOLE 8. Click SOLUTION MANAGER PROJECTS and select the link MANAGE DESTINATIONS 9. Select SOLUTION COMPOSER entry Choose ADD or EDIT button. December

15 10. Access the CE Server Admin page by using the below link: http(s)://<host>:<port>/ce/setup.asp In the pop-up window, enter the credentials from the configuration file. 11. Choose Add New Workspace button from the CE administration page. December

Use the below steps to create a new CE workspace based on an existing EBB workspace. a) Enter the name of the new workspace. b) Associate the CE workspace to existing EBB workspace, by selecting one from the drop down list. c) Choose OK. CE Server Admin page will appear with the newly created workspace displayed in the list of created CE workspaces. d) The associated EBB workspace will be displayed under the column EBB Workspace. 13. Download the CE Workspace configuration file by clicking on the download hyperlink of the required package. The file ceconfig.txt should contain following details: 1. servername 2. server 3. httpport 4. httpsport 5. packageid Paste the details in NWDS preferences December

17 14. Enter your respective user account to gain access to CPB at the bottom of the dialog box and choose OK 15. To test the connection and access to blueprint projects from Solution Manager: Select CPB, press SEARCH 16. Select from result list your blueprint project Millers and double click to view the blueprint inside NWDS From this point, the NWDS developer can link the development DC to the blueprint project.
