3 tt performance suite 2017r2 Release 2017r2 of tt performance suite mainly focuses on two highly distinct aspects: On the one hand, our goal was to offer enhancements that allow you to primarily address your endusers. Two new customizing packages boost the ease of access to content and its ultimate attractiveness, thereby doing justice to end-users' raised expectations. On the other hand, we concentrated on corrections and general improvements. Needless to say, this not only involved bugfixing with a short-term impact, but also the establishment of fundamentals with an eye toward the long-term future. All these efforts went hand-in-hand with the decision to retire certain components, which proved to be a somewhat painful process. Keep reading for a synopsis of the changes in tt performance suite 2017r2. 1 Film mode in the HTML5 export Now supporting IT simulations, the features of the HTML5 export in tt performance suite 2017 were significantly enhanced. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that both the Interactive and Presentation modes are since then fully supported by the HTML5 export. By adding the Film mode to the array of play modes available in ttps, the pallet is now complete, meaning that the HTML5 export in Release 2017r2 is now on a par with the HTML4 mode of the past: Your authors can now once again define a fixed duration for steps and use control triggers that allow your end-users to switch from one play mode to the other when viewing an e- learning. This enhancement allows you to create trailers or product launches that play automatically (for example), thereby ensuring compatibility with all end devices thanks to the improved HTML5 mode. 2 Reports and Performance Support Categories We have enhanced many reports in the Workbench with a view to providing a better overview of the distribution of content to your end-users via QuickAccess. The "Aggregate properties" and "Extended list of documents" reports now also provide details of assignments to the various Performance Support Categories (PSCs). This means that it is now possible to generate overviews of the PSC assignments of structural elements (courses, processes, topics) and documents (third-party content, links, TT documents). TT documents are an exception in this regard as they can come in up to six different export formats. The Excel-based "Extended list of documents" report therefore now separately lists the assignments of the available export formats on a per-document basis. 3

6 3 Integration with Learning Management Systems 3.1 Cornerstone ondemand (CSOD) ttps is the world's first LCMS solution to offer a seamless direct interface to the Cornerstone ondemand (CSOD) learning management system. This groundbreaking interface means that you can now synchronize selected parts of the course catalog, including meta-information and structure, with CSOD. Not only that, but this all happens fully automatically. This procedure means that content always remains in tt performance suite, thereby eliminating the laborious task of exporting and importing courses. While at the same time, the standard AICC HACP interface guarantees the real-time transfer of learning progress data. The integration in CSOD couldn't be less complicated, representing yet another world's first: In recognition of its ttps software, tts is the first provider ever to be listed in the "Learning" section of the October release of Cornerstone Edge Marketplace, from where companies can add the integration to their existing Cornerstone environment for no extra charge. 3.2 Greater compatibility when importing into SuccessFactors Due to the complex cloud infrastructure surrounding SuccessFactors systems, the interplay between the file repository, the structure of the WBTs to be imported and customer-specific settings is often anything but smooth. tt performance suite has now been adapted to counterbalance the technological limitations of cloud systems such as SuccessFactors, making the import of ttps content easier than ever. 4 tt performance suite protection against external attack Over the past few months, we have invested much time and effort in protecting tt performance suite against external attack. Eager to become fully bulletproof, we got ourselves audited by the independent security penetration test experts from SySS GmbH ( and were awarded official certification. SySS GmbH tested tt performance suite for all common and "exotic" weaknesses and security flaws, granting tt performance suite a certificate as attestation of its security. 5 Customizing packages 5.1 Revamped Web Publisher Portal design Release 2017 heralded the launch of a customizing package aimed at optimizing access to the Web Publisher Portal from mobile devices. Following on from this, Release 2017r2 now features an update of the desktop design in the form of a customizing package. Thanks to the many inspiring suggestions from our customers, and many years of experience with the implementation of ttps, we have not only made improvements, but also introduced a few brand-new functions: Graphic makeover and a more uniform appearance More streamlined depiction of the course outline view with collapsible course sections A clearer depiction of document type assignments in the Process and Topic views 6

7 Less visual clutter when displaying documents, due to a reduction in the number of buttons Direct display of the so-called MIME types of third-party documents (PDF, PPT, links, ), making recognition even easier for end-users Less use of the so-called "landing page", allowing the desired content to be accessed even faster Opportunity to generate and share a direct link to a document or structural element from anywhere within the portal Please don't hesitate to get in touch with your tts contact person should you be interested in this customizing package. Illustration 4: Revamped Web Publisher Portal design 5.2 Native HTML5 configuration Using e-learning content on mobile devices is becoming ever more popular. This explains why the last few releases of tt performance suite featured many enhancements of its HTML5 functions. But these primarily revolved around functional aspects, meaning that inexperienced authors were still confronted with the daunting challenge of creating content for the mobile environment. With a view to ensuring that you and your authors will quickly feel at home in the mobile world, a new HTML5 configuration featuring new templates that have been optimized for mobile deployment will be launched later in

Illustration 5: New templates for the HTML5 configuration 6 End-of-life announcements Sometimes it proves necessary to retire certain functions and technical components to make room for newcomers, thereby ensuring that ttps is best equipped to meet the challenge of fulfilling future technological demands. The following section provides a summary of the various relevant retirements in 2017r RTF (Rich Text Format) export format RTF has been supported as an export format for documentation since the launch of tt knowledge force in Back in the old days, this format represented a lightweight alternative to Word and PDF, but its popularity has waned down through the years. Not only that, but PDF has since evolved to become a de facto standard spanning all devices and operating systems. Which is why we have decided to no longer support RTF. However, existing TT documents, whose export properties were set to RTF, can still be used. Please note that when republishing or updating such documents, the RTF export will no longer be offered and from here on only the HTML, Word or PDF formats can be generated, depending on the setting. 8

9 6.2 "Initial 2009" Web Publisher configuration Despite the redesign of the Web Publisher in 2013, ttps has still included the "Initial 2009" portal design that dates back to Release 2017r2 marks the withdrawal of support for the "Initial 2009" portal design. When updating to 2017r2, you are therefore requested to get in touch with your tts contact person if you are using an "Initial 2009"-based customized version of the Web Publisher and would like an update to the new portal customizing. 6.3 Rollout Manager Ever eager to focus on our core strengths, we aim to concentrate even more on the future of workplace learning. Which is why we have decided to withdraw our support for the software test component (Rollout Manager) as of Release 2017r2. Nevertheless, Release 2017r2 will still allow you to view test cases and test reports from the past in the Workbench preview. However, it will no longer be possible to edit such test cases and scenarios. Our consultants will be more than happy to explore the possibilities of migrating your test cases and scenarios in advance of your update to Version 2017r Java 6 & Java 7 In conjunction with the launch of Release 2017r2, we have raised the minimum requirement for the Java version installed on ttps servers to Java 8, due to the fact that there are no more "public updates" available for previous versions (neither Java 6 nor Java 7) ( In particular, this means that Oracle will no longer make fixes for security vulnerabilities in these versions publicly available. Support for Java 8 also brings many advantages for you, such as optimized support for JavaScript or improved memory usage. You are therefore requested to schedule an update to Java 8 in conjunction with your switchover to ttps 2017r What to expect from tt performance suite Support for Internet Explorer 9 and 10 Microsoft stopped supporting browsers older than Internet Explorer 11 on January 12, 2016, and no longer provides security patches ( For this reason, we will also discontinue our support for these browsers to coincide with the launch of Version 2018 of tt performance suite. 9
