2 TABLE OF CONTENTS The Federal Acquisition Institute Training Application System (FAITAS) is the avenue for all federal civilian agency Employees to electronically manage their career development. In this Quick Start guide, you will find information about reviewing and managing your Portfolio. For more information, to provide feedback, or to submit a ticket, visit the Help Desk online at or use the Contact Us option in the FAITAS Help menu. 3 MY PORTFOLIO: INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION The Federal Acquisition Institute Training Application System (FAITAS) is the avenue for all federal civilian agency employees to electronically manage their career development. As part of career development management, Employees upload résumés, certificates of completion, letters, etc. as supporting documentation during the request process. The FAITAS Portfolio, available during the request process, provides an efficient way for Employees to manage the documentation uploads. For more information, to provide feedback, or to submit a ticket, visit the Help Desk online at or use the Contact Us option in the FAITAS Help menu. Use the tabs to locate document types or to upload new documents. My Certifications, My CL Certificates, and My Training Certificates entries are system-generated. Use the Search field to look for specific documents that have already been uploaded. The My Documents table displays all the documents the Employee uploaded. From here, documents can be attached to a specific request, viewed, or removed. Click the red exit/close icon to close the Portfolio.
4 MY PORTFOLIO: FAQS QUESTION: How do I access My Portfolio? My Portfolio is accessible only during the request process wherever one is able to attach supporting documentation. QUESTION: What is the purpose of having a FAITAS portfolio? The Portfolio makes uploading documents more efficient because it saves Employees from having to upload the same document multiple times. It also takes advantages of the FAITAS system by automatically uploading Certifications, CL Certificates, and Training Certificates. QUESTION: How do I know a document is attached to the request? A green checkmark next to a document indicates the document is attached to a request. A document automatically attaches to the request when uploaded. QUESTION: What happens if I attach a document to a request and then decide to delete it? Does it also get deleted from My Portfolio? If you delete a document from a request, it does NOT get deleted from your Portfolio. QUESTION: What happens if I delete a document from My Portfolio that is already linked to several FAITAS requests? Will it get deleted from those requests? If you delete a document from your Portfolio, it does NOT get deleted from any pending or processed FAITAS request. QUESTION: Can I upload personal documents to My Portfolio? My Portfolio is intended for documents applicable to training, not personal documents. QUESTION: Is there a file size limit for uploaded documents? Each uploaded file must be less than Mb.
5 MY PORTFOLIO: UPLOAD HOW DO I UPLOAD A DOCUMENT? Click the Upload Document tab to display the Upload Documentation pop-up window. 5 5 Click the Browse button to locate a file to enter into the Attach File field. From the Category drop-down list, select the appropriate document type. Enter a brief File Description. Click the Attach button. 5
6 MY PORTFOLIO: SEARCH HOW DO I SEARCH FOR AN UPLOADED DOCUMENT? In My Portfolio, enter a term in the Search field. Click the Search button. The table updates with your search results. 6
7 MY PORTFOLIO: ATTACH DOCUMENT HOW DO I ATTACH A SYSTEM-GENERATED DOCUMENT? Click one of the My Certifications, My CL Certificates, or My Training Certificates tabs. From the list that displays, enter a check in the box in front of the document to be attached. Close the My Portfolio pop-up window. The request updates with the requested document attached. 7
