What is covered? After reviewing this technical note you will know the following: Installing the Cell Station. Programming the Portable Station Extension, PS Ring Group and ICD Group. 2 For the purpose of this technical document, will be using a KX-TDA50, KX-T0155 Cell Station, 3 x KX-TD7695 Portable Stations, 1 x KX-TD7696 Portable Station and 1 x KX-DT343 Digital Proprietarily Telephone. Step 1: Connect the Cell Station into any port either on the DLC card or DHLC card. For this example, the KX-T0155 Cell Station is going to be connected to port 8 on slot 5 of the DLC8 card. Connect to the PBX system with the appropriate programming tool. 2

3 Step 2: To verify that the KX-T0155 Cell Station is actively connected to the PBX system, from the System Menu, click on Configuration / Slot (1.1). Hover your mouse pointer over the DLC card and click on Port Property. The telephone type would describe the device; in this case, CS is label for slot 5, port 8. 3

4 Step 3: To create the portable station virtual extension number and extension name, from the System Menu, click on Configuration/ Portable Station (1.2). For the purpose of this technical document, we will be using the extension number range: 215 through 218 with the extension name: PS1 / PS2 / PS3 / PS4. The Personal Identification Number is set for 1234 by default. *Note: The portable station virtual extension number cannot already be assigned to any device in the PBX. 4

5 Step 4: To assign a floating extension number for the Portable Station Ring Group, from the System Menu, click on Group / PS Ring Group (3.9). For the purpose of this technical document, we will be using extension number: 230. Click on Member List, then Extension Number Settings. Check Portable Station and add the Portable Station extension to the Selected Extension List for PS Ring Group #:1. Remember to click on Apply and OK to save your changes. *Note: The floating extension number for the Portable Station Ring Group cannot already be assigned to any device in the PBX. 5

6 Step 5: (For Portable Station Only) To assign the PS Ring Group floating extension number to the DIL Table, from the System Menu, click on CO & Incoming Call / DIL Table & Port Settings (10.2). From the DIL Tab, Under the DIL Destination Column, enter the PS Ring Group floating extension number for each mode of the CO line card. Remember to click on Apply and OK to save your changes. 6

7 (For Wired Digital Proprietarily Telephone and Portable Station) To assign the Portable Station Ring Group floating extension number to an ICD Group that is associated with wired digital proprietary telephone extensions, from the System Menu, click on Group/Incoming Call Distribution Group/Group Setting (3.5.1). Click on Member List and enter the Portable Station Ring Group floating number 230 to the Selected Extension List for ICD Group number 601, then click Apply and OK. Assign ICD Group extension number: 601 to the DIL Table, from the System Menu, click on CO & Incoming Call/DIL Table & Port Settings (10.2). From the DIL Tab, under the DIL Destination Column, enter the ICD Group extension number for each mode of the CO line card. Remember to click on Apply and OK to save your changes. 7

8 Step 6: Once you have created both the PS Ring Group and ICD Group for the Ring Group, you would proceed and register each portable station accordingly. From the System Menu, click on Configuration / Portable Station (1.2). Click on the Registration Button, Add each portable station extension by highlighting the extension and clicking the right arrow, the extension number you wish to register will show up in the right-hand window. Click next on the registration wizard. Remember to click on Apply and OK to save your changes. 8

9 A window will display asking you to execute the registration procedure on the portable station. This can be done by holding down the F3 key on the portable station. The portable station registration procedure can also be found in the installation manual of the appropriate PBX. 9

10 You will hear a confirmation tone with the word Registered on the display of the portable station and the Maintenance Console will display the screen below informing you the registration was a success. Step 7: Once you have completed the PS Ringing procedure, from the Maintenance Console, click on the Tool Menu and click on SD Memory Backup. See More Panasonic Manuals Phone
