We want you to get the most out of your investment! and that is not just to get ONE job over and done in a few seconds... as the product is MUCH more universal than first anticipated by most. We don't believe in a fast over-and-done solution where you as an installer or technical end-user, may be able to get it to work with limited features, without really knowing what's going on. We want you to fully understand how to make the best of this product. ALL devices... regardless of whether they are controlled by IR, RS232, RS485, X10, delays, outputs, etc.... are controlled/configured in exactly the same way. When you know how to control ONE command, then you know how to control ANYTHING our TT455-RT-238 supports. We are used to our international installers and customers, located in most time-zones, work with our products at the most odd hours, so you are always welcome to phone us... any time, any day... even during evenings and week-ends... and we will attempt to serve you the best we can. Best regards, Michael Lindgaard Owner and General Manager of LinTronic
Triggers and Actions The TT455-RT-238 is controlled by Triggers, which causes Actions to be executed. A Trigger can be for example: - A remote control command (Bang&Olufsen, Apple, Bose, Keyspan, NEC, Philips RC5 and more) - A computer command ( bps) - RS485/RS232 commport - A switch, contact, relay, motion detector, etc. - 2 digital inputs - An X10 command - X10 modem port Actions can be for example: - InfraRed and/or RS485/RS232 signals for audio/video products, projectors, screens, curtains, blinders, shades, light systems, relays, fireplaces, elevation beds, computer, etc. - Digital outputs for various purposes like relays, data-interface etc. - X10 commands Triggers Actions
Triggers and Actions The way you instruct your TT455-RT-238 on how to be Triggered and what Actions to control, is by setting up a project which combines the Triggers and Actions. The Triggers are easy - you just activate your remote control, or select Mode/Trigger from a drop-down menu. The related Actions are selected from the products command collection. The Trigger/Action combination is created in the Memory Map (Step2). --- But before you start configuring your TT455-RT-238 to carry out what you want it to do, you need to get hold of the commands (Actions) to be carried out. These commands (Actions) are collected in the CommandList (Step 1). In the CommandList (Step 1) you can download commands which have been shared by other users, or which have been uploaded by LinTronic for your free use. Infrared remote control If your product is not already covered/supported/shared, then you can copy commands from your own remote control. We kindly ask you to upload these commands to our database later, when you have tested they work. RS485/RS232 control If your product can be controlled by RS232 commands, (more and more screens, projectors, light systems, etc.) then it is recommended to use RS232 instead of InfraRed, as InfraRed (IR) is much easier disturbed than RS232. RS232 requires a cable from the computer-connector of the TT455-RT-238. Many customers then use an external IR receiver and hide the TT455-RT-238 in a cabinet. In case you want to control another product by RS485/RS232 commands, and we do not have the required commands, then we must embed the commands into the firmware for the TT455-RT-238 and we provide you with a set of virtual commands which will generate the commands when needed. Relays If you want to control lights on/off, curtains, blinders, shades, etc. then often a wired control is better that infrared. For that purpose we have developed an intelligent relay board. Customized solutions We often participate in development of special firmware which will allow our product to carry out your specific tasks. We work fast and our prices are very attractive. And now it is time for you to get started :o)

Configurator - download and install on your computer /Download.htm It is recommended you create a folder on the desktop called LinTronic and save in this folder.
Help is available in the individual programs. Click on PDF to download latest version or open local version.
Configurator The Configurator collects all of the software tools LinTronic offer for our products. The following tools are covered by separate PDF files. See or web-site - Support OnlineHelp: DataSampler (receive/send RS232 commands in plain, ascii or hex format. BootLoader (firmware update tool) SpyWare (RS232 command copy - SpyWare License required) CheckForUpdates - checking online for Configurator and product updates Tools Log OnlineHelp Product related tools, OnlineHelp and LinTronic services Communication and information area Comport Control Establishes connection with product
Product related tools described in separate PDF files. Make sure to visit your "User profile" where you may enter relavant information. Commands/data beeing transmitted/received by the computer are shown here. 14 TT455-RT-238 CommandList Memory Map CodeLearn Inputs/Outputs EasyX10 Download commands from our database or copy from your remote control This is where you design how your Triggers activates the Actions Reading and manipulation of remote control signals Read the digital inputs or control the digital outputs Customized control of up to 16 channels of X10 dimmers
Get connected Click Connect - the Configurator will try to connect with the product If successfull - data will be received in the communication area If not successfull - goto Commport to set/verify correct commport Baudrate and settings (19200,n,8,1) Do not change unless you need to communicate with the product on a lower or higher speed
Default communication is baudrate 19200, Parity None, Databits 8, Stopbits 1. Do not change unless you have specific needs. Baudrates higher than is for DataSampler and SpyWare. LinTronic products do not work at speeds above (due to noise problems on long wires). Click AUTO and Configurator will search for the LinTronic product on all commports using the address specified in the tab "Products Network Address". If you use a USB/RS232 cable, then insert the cable and install the driver. A USB comport might change if you remove and reinsert the cable - or if you use a different USB connector next time. A small trick: With the cable removed, click "Ports" to see which comport numbers your computer offers. Then insert cable, wait about 5-10 seconds and click "Ports" again. The new commport is the USB cables comport. Select the new comport manually or click "AUTO" - and Configurator will search for your LinTronic product. If you are on the right comport,a '^' character must be received when you apply power to the TT455-RT-238,
When the right commport is found there is no need to enter the Commport section again. The program wil remember the settings next time you start up. If your product is still not detected, check that the address is set to 1 (default). (Up to 32 products may work together in an industrial long-range 2-wire RS485 network. You may change the address under special commands). If your product is still not detected: - check that power supply is connected and set for 12 volt (see next page) - TT455-RT-238 blinks for 2 seconds when power is applied - If you use our USB-RS232 ComCab-002/003 cable, did you install the driver? Checking the address: Activate your remote and check that a detected code is received. For example activate the TV button of your B&O remote and you should receive this in the RECEIVED text field: The 2-digit number is the address of the TT455-RT-238. In this example it has been set to 5. Then in order to detect the TT455-RT-238, se the address to 5. Still no luck? Contact LinTronic for OnlineSupport.
Check for updates New features are beeing added all the time. Now would be a good time to learn whether new program or firmware has been relased. The Configurator may download, uninstall and install itself. Firmware update - BootLoader It is recommend that downloaded firmware is saved to a folder on the desktop called "LinTronic". Firmware must be unzipped before it can be used. Use the BootLoader to update firmware.
When your product is detected, you are ready to configure your TT455-RT-238. Step 1 - CommandList: Donwload commands for your products from our web-database or copy from your remote Step 2 - Memory Map: Specify the relationship between your Triggers and Actions On the next pages we will run you through an example showing how to control a Sony TV. For more detailed help, check out the online help.
STEP 1 - COMMANDLIST This is where you download existing commands from our database or copy commands from your remote. WEB-DATABSE UPDATE/LIST (internet connection required) Click to download/update your list of the current contents of the web-database. When the list is updated, then select the wanted product from the list and download the commands. The downloaded command will now become available Locally. In this example we download commands for: Sony, TV, KV-29FX20E
Double-click on the left site of the equal-sign (=) and note the code beeing marked. Click TEST and the TT455-RT-238 will send the marked code if it is an InfraRed code. RS232 commands cannot be tested as this requires the TT455-RT-238 is connected to the product to control. If your product reacts to the code, you should be able to use the downloaded commands. Else you may try another typenumber or copy commands from your remote (see online help). If your product reacts but performs the command 3 times, then you can change the repeatnumber. In the following we assume codes are tested succesfully and continue to the Memory Map. Close the CommandList and open Memory Map.
STEP 2 - MEMORY MAP This is where you specify how your Triggers activate the Actions. TRIGGER ( Incoming signals ) A Trigger can for example be: - an InfraRed (IR) signal from your remote control (Apple, Bang&Olufsen, Bose, NEC etc.) - the activation/release of a switch or sensor connected to one of the two digital inputs - an X10 power-line received signal - an RS232 command from a computer or another type of controller ACTION ( Outgoing signals ) An Action is for example: - one or more InfraRed (IR) signals for your products (audio/video, light, curtains, aircon etc.) - an RS232/RS485 command for your computer, projector, lcd/plasma screen, light, etc. - an X10 power line carried signals for light dimmers or relays - a LinTronic bus-command for individual or broadcast control for up to 32 TT455-T-238's
7 4 1 LIST STOP GO BANG & OLUFSEN > > > CD >> EXIT STEP 2 - MEMORY MAP In this example we assume you use a B&O remote to set the Mode/Trigger. Point the remote to the TT455-RT-238 and activate: TV - STANDBY (POWER) The program automatically suggest that TV - POWER triggers the Power command of the Sony TV. You may optionally select another command from the drop-down list. SAT TV LIGHT RADIO DVD If you like this combination, click "Add to Memory Map". > > TEXT > VTAPE RECORD ATAPE MENU
7 4 1 TEXT >> STEP 2 - MEMORY MAP Activate 0 and watch the Sony TV's 0 beeing suggested; If you like this combination, click "Add to Memory Map". Continue with the rest of the numbers 1-9. When you have done this, click "Save to TT455-RT-238". Watch your configuration beeing saved into and verified from the TT455-RT-238 Your TT455-RT-238 may now be disconnected from the computer and will now control a Sony TV's numbers and power functions. SAT TV LIGHT RADIO DVD VTAPE RECORD ATAPE CD Remember to press TV as the first command to bring the TT455-RT-238 into TV mode. Easy - isn't it? BANG & OLUFSEN LIST STOP > > > > > GO EXIT > MENU
>> TIPS AND TRICKS EASY CONFIGURATION Anything the TT455-RT-238 can control, (delays, digital outputs, RS232/RS485 commands, X10, BusCommands, etc.) is configured in exactly the same way. Once you understand how to do one thing, you can do anything. And you can mix all the control options in the same Configuration. MAKE CONTROL OF ONE DEVICE AT A TIME It is recommended that you make individual configurations of your products and save them separately onto the computer. Use different modes for each device. This gives you the best overview. When you are happy with each configuration, then merge them together in the Memomy Map by "Get from computer" and save to the TT455-RT-238 in a session called "Done" or "All".
