13 ConfigMgr 2007 Wake-On LAN Sends a wake-up transmission prior to the configured dead line. Wake-On LAN supports waking up computers in sleep states S1 through S5 Pre-requisites for Wake-On LAN Fix Boot Order, Enable Wake-On LAN in Bios, Enable Wake-On LAN in OS Router configuration to allow WOL packets Router ACLs must be changed to allow Subnet Directed Broadcasts from the CM 2007 server s IP address Routers must be configured to allow Magic Packets (Port 9 UDP) Subnet Directed Broadcast vs. Unicast CM 2007 supports both Unicast is directed at a single PC but requires that the clients MAC address be in the switch s ARP cache Subnet Directed Broadcast is sent to all clients on a subnet and therefore wake all of them up.
