2 Overview CC4DRV087a updates the RM build area on the Community Connect 4 server to allow Microsoft Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit and Windows bit rebuilds of the following hardware: Requirements before installing CC4DRV087a Important Customers should have installed the following products before installing this driver pack into the server. 1. Windows 7 SP1 Product 2. Windows 7 64-bit Product 3. CC4UPD Windows 8.1 product (optional). 3 Installing CC4DRV087a Follow the instructions below to install this Driver Update on the Forest Root domain controller server: To install CC4DRV087a 1. Download CC4DRV087a.exe as described in DWN Ensure that you are logged on to the Forest Root domain controller server as a Windows administrator user (not as an RM system administrator). 3. Copy the Driver Update to a temporary location (e.g. D:\temp). 4. Run the Driver Update by double-clicking the disk icon for the self-extracting executable file (CC4DRV087a.exe). Provide a location to extract the driver files (e.g. D:\temp\CC4DRV087a) and click Install. The Driver Update will extract files and run the RM Installation Assistant to begin the installation. 5. When prompted, click Continue. The installation will proceed automatically. 6. When prompted that the RM Installation Assistant has finished, click Finish. 7. The extracted driver files can be deleted from the path (e.g. D:\temp\CC4DRV087a) once RM Installation Assistant has finished. Adding Build Critical Drivers to your Build Disks Some build critical drivers will need to be added to your build disks before you regenerate the Build Disk for the supported hardware. Please note that each build critical driver should only be added to build disks based on the corresponding Windows Preinstall Environment (WinPE) version. The WinPE version of a build disk can be checked by viewing the build disk s name from within the RM Management Console. When creating a build disk the WinPE version can be specified by selecting the appropriate base build disk. 4 Building Instruction for It has been observed that the machine build fails for Win 7 32-bit and Win 7 64-bit machines showing a blank screen with 'RMR' at top left corner. To prevent this, prior to installing the driver pack, the build templates used for Win 7 32-bit and Win 7 64-bit build need to be modified so as not to install the boot utility. This can be done by following the steps mentioned below. Please note that by doing so, the RMR double shift rebuild will not work but the RMMC remote rebuild still works. 1. Log on to the CC4 First server as a Microsoft Windows administrator user (not as an RM system administrator). 2. Open RMMC 3. Go to the option Computer > Build > Build Templates. 4. Select the appropriate template used for Win 7 32-bit. 5. Right-click and open the Properties section. 6. Go to the 'Configuration' tab and scroll down to the option 'Optional Components >Boot Utility' 7. Check the option 'Don't Install'. 8. Click OK to save the changes. 9. Repeat the steps 3 to 7 by selecting the template used for Win 7 64-bit build. You can now continue to build the device in the usual CC4 manner Troubleshooting If you experience any problems related to the hardware drivers installed in this update, before contacting RM Support, first check the tables in CC4DRV087a Driver Revisions section below to verify that the correct versions are present on your network. Newer revisions of drivers may get installed by default as they may match in other hardware updates. In this event, the drivers below can be manually selected when rebuilding the computer. The drivers added as part of this update have the RM System model number as part of the driver description. 4
