My regular work involves the supervision of a team managing the operations of a small size data center (350 OSEs), the coordination of development projects for standard and custom applications together with third party development companies and international teams of developers, regulatory coordination for medical applications, strategic technology planning. Highlights: In 2009 and 2010 I was responsible planning and supervising the migration and development of a customer s 10 server single-site infrastructure to a multi-national multi-site infrastructure with 60 servers and 300+ clients. The project involved migrating from Windows Server 2003/2008 to Windows Server 2008 R2, ISA Server 2006 to ForeFront Threat Management Gateway 2010, Deployment of SQL Server 2008, Migration of vertical LoB applications and the migration of server applications to versions that support Windows Server 2008 R2 including System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 and System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 SP2. Since then Celes Systems GmbH became the lead company in managing and maintaining this infrastructure now including five countries with 30+ sites. The ongoing maintenance included amongst others the migration to Windows Server 2012 R2, Exchange 2013, Lync 2013 including Enterprise Voice, and System Center 2012 R2. During the first six months I lead a small team rebuilding the internal server infrastructure of Arztservice Wente GmbH on Windows Server 2008 along with new data center operations for the Celes Systems Division. 3 In 2008 I left integration.ag because of changes in senior management and worked as a consultant in migration projects for the data center to Windows Server 2008 and larger migration and infrastructure projects for various customers using a wide variety of Microsoft server systems integration.ag Director Internet Technologies Group Industry: Information Technology Healthcare Originally employed by integration.ag as a technical evangelist for XML and Internet technologies in Healthcare, I was assigned various consultancy and development projects related to IT infrastructure, Internet services. Initially my responsibility was the development of position papers and proof of concept applications on the use of existing digital standards, XML and Internet application as a new approach for integrating legacy and modern IT systems within clinical environments. The projects lasted into 2002 with partners being the American Academy of Ophthalmology, various working groups of the NEMA DICOM standardization efforts. During this project we had regular contacts with the Microsoft BizTalk Team and the Microsoft Healthcare Business Unit. Starting in 2000 I was entrusted with building an early small-scale Internet data center and supervise its operations for the hosting of early medical web applications including web-based registries for monitoring drug-use in certain specialties. During this time I lead a both the development and the infrastructure side of the projects. The technologies used were ASP and later ASP.NET (C#). The infrastructure was built upon Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Microsoft Message Queue Server, Microsoft Transaction Server / COM+, Crystal Report Server In 2002 I was entrusted with a project of building an e-commerce platform for contact lenses based on Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 handling upto 10,000 transaction per day for a customer of integration.ag. The technologies used in this project were again Microsoft Windows 2000 Server / Advanced Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and IIS 5.0. The entire infrastructure consisted of approx. 20 servers because of the high volume of catalog data. My focus after that was improvement of the data center and included consultation of the development team on architectural topics related to the Windows hosting platform and the development of various.net-based standard applications. Parallel to the development project the data center was migrated from Windows 2000 to Windows Server Products and technologies I worked with during this phase included Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003/2003R2, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005, Microsoft ISA Server 2000/2004/2006, Microsoft.NET 1.0/1.1/2.0, IIS 5.0/6.0, Active Directory, Microsoft Virtual Server In 2006 I was responsible for planning and building a Hosted Messaging and Collaboration Platform based on Microsoft Exchange Server During this project I had my first experience with Microsoft Operations Manager In 2007 I was the lead in the migrating the platform to Exchange Server Later in this project the infrastructure was also migrated from Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 to System Center Operations Manager In 2006 I was assigned to a new business unit to develop a standard blueprint for networks in large medical practices and small and mid-size clinics. Parts of these blueprints included Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 (R2), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Small Business Server 2003 (R2), Cisco ASA firewalls. The blueprints were implemented under my supervision in about a dozen institutions.

4 In 2007 I was assigned lead in a development for a partner ISV in implementing a solution based on Microsoft BizTalk Server The goal of this project was to supplement their monolithic product with the workflow and process management capabilities of BizTalk Server so that it is able to act as the center of communication within a hospital environment. The system was successfully demonstrated during a four day showcase in New Orleans sponsored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Radiological Society of North America. End 2007 I was assigned to a project designing the IT infrastructure for a new multi-national group of eye care clinics with centralized management. This project involved the use of Windows Server 2003 R2, Microsoft Virtual Server 2005, System Center Operations Manager, System Center Configuration Manager, System Center Data Protection Manager, ForeFront Client Security, ISA Server 2006, and Windows Sharepoint Services. The design was intended for a an 8 to 10 site network with one central data center with each site having approx. 50 workstations using System Center Configuration Manager for deployment.
