4 Introduction To run ImageNow ERM Server on your network, you must install ImageNow Server and at least one ImageNow Client. The installer installs all components of the ImageNow ERM suite, including ImageNow ERM Server, ImageNow ERM Studio, ImageNow ERM Agent, several ImageNow ERM plug-ins, and ImageNow ERM Server Administrator. We recommend that you install all components on the same computer. For product technical specifications and system requirements, go to click Customer Portal, and then log in. The Technical Specifications document for this product version is available in the Product Documentation tab. Important In Windows, you must install this agent in a 32-bit environment. If you installed ImageNow Server on a 64-bit Windows server, follow the steps in this guide to install this agent on a remote 32-bit server. For product technical specifications and system requirements, refer to the Product Technical Specifications for your product version. This document is available on the Product Documentation tab of the Customer Portal on ImageNow ERM Software Components ImageNow ERM Server consists of the components listed below. You must install ImageNow ERM Server on the same server as ImageNow Server. You can install ImageNow ERM Studio, Administrator, and Plug-ins on remote computers. Component Function ImageNow ERM Server Detects incoming activities, such as newly created projects. Processes incoming spool files. Converts spool files to PDF. Extracts document keys and index data. Stores processed reports. Dynamically extracts relevant pages from large reports based on user search. ImageNow ERM Agent Transfers data from ERM Server to ImageNow Server. ImageNow ERM Studio Lets you define and activate report templates. Lets you schedule the production server to run reports automatically on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. ImageNow ERM Server Plug-ins Software for tasks added to report templates in ImageNow Studio. Some plugins must be purchased separately. Page 4 of 13

5 Component ImageNow ERM Administrator Function Monitors jobs from beginning to end. Allows you to resubmit failed reports, delete online content (ImageNow server documents) and offline content (report source files). Page 5 of 13

6 Create an ERM OSM set and ERM OSM tree Before you can run ERM, you must create additional data storage locations in the ImageNow repository to hold the ERM report information. 1. Click the Start button, point to All Programs, and select Run. 2. In the Open field, type cmd and press OK 3. In the Command prompt window, type cd\inserver6\bin and press ENTER. 4. Type intool --cmd add-osm-set and press ENTER. 5. Type osm_04 for the OSM Set ID and press ENTER 6. Enter the name of the OSM set and press ENTER. 7. Select 1 for the location type for Online and press ENTER 8. Enter 2 for ERM for the OSM set type. 9. Enter a description for the OSM set type and press ENTER. 10. Press ENTER for the option Sub Object OSM set ID. 11. Press ENTER for notes. 12. Enter 0 for OSM intergration type for FSS. 13. Press ENTER for Cache OSM seet ID. 14. In the command prompt, type: intool cmd add-osm-tree type FSS. 15. Type osm_ for the OSM tree ID. 16. Type osm_04 for the OSM set ID. 17. Enter a description. 18. Type 0 for Mirroring off. 19. Type [drive]:\inserrver6\osm_ for the OSM tree path. 20. Type / / for the OSM Tree Next Slot. 21. Enter 1 for Media type optical. 22. Enter 512 for the number of files per directory in the OSM tree. 23. Enter the number of retries. 24. Enter the delay between retries. Page 6 of 13

8 25. Optional. By default, ImageNow stores ERM data in a storage area called osm_04. If you have configured osm_04 to store other data, perform the following substeps to create a different storage area for ERM data. 1. Use a text editor to open the inow.ini file, which is located in the [drive]: \inserver6\etc folder. 2. In the [OSM] group, add the following line: default.large.osm.set = <osm name> Where <osm name> is a placeholder for the OSM name you want, such as asm_os. 3. Save and then close the inow.ini file. 26. Restart the ImageNow server, Enable ERM on the ImageNow Client toolbar By default, the ERM controls in ImageNow are switched on if you installed locally with respect to ImageNow Server. If you did not, in this procedure, you change a setting to switch the ERM controls on in the ImageNow toolbar. 1. In the inserver6\etc\ folder, use a text editor to open the inow.ini file. 2. In the [ERM] section, change the erm.enabled setting as follows: erm.enabled=true 3. Save and close the inow.ini file. Installing the ImageNow ERM Server The following steps guide you through the process of installing ERM Server. Download the ERM Server files 1. Go to the Perceptive Software website at click Customer Portal, enter your user name and password, and then click Downloads. 2. In the Product Downloads page, download the following files to a temporary directory on your computer: The product installer The product readme 3. Review the product readme. 4. Unzip the installer if applicable. Page 8 of 13

9 Install ERM Suite attended The installation wizard pages described in this section prompt you for the information needed to install ERM Suite. If you want to bypass the wizard, skip to the Install ERM Suite unattended section 1. Double-click the EXE file you downloaded. 2. In the Welcome page, click Next. 3. In the License Agreement page, review the terms the License Agreement, scroll to the end of the agreement, click the I accept the terms in the license agreement button, and then click Next. 4. In the Installation Location page, perform one of the following options: If your computer is running ImageNow Server, click Local installation and then click Next. If your computer is not running ImageNow Server, click Remote installation and then click Next. To learn more about deploying ImageNow ERM components on multiple computers, contact Perceptive Software Product Support. 5. In the ImageNow Server Information page, in the Server name / IP box, enter the server name or IP address of the ImageNow Server; in the Port number box, enter the port number that the ImageNow Server uses and then click Next. 6. In the Custom Setup page, if you want to exclude a component from installation, click the arrow to the left of the component and then select This feature will not be available. To inspect how much disk space a component requires, select it and then view the required space in the right pane. 7. When you have finished the Custom Setup page, click Next. 8. In the Ready to Install the Program page, if you want the ERM Agent service to start immediately after installation is finished; select the Start ERM Agent upon completing installation check box. Click Install to continue. 9. Optional. If the Show the Windows Installer log check box appears, you can select the check box to view the log file. 10. In the Installation Wizard Completed page, click Finish. 11. In the ImageNow ERM Suite Installer Information dialog box, click Yes to restart your computer now or click No to restart later. Install ERM Agent unattended By installing ERM Agent with a single command, you can bypass the installation wizard and run the installation automatically. The command includes an optional set of custom values in the <argument list> shown below. ERMAgentSetup.exe /s /V"/qb <argument list> Page 9 of 13

10 If you omit any of the arguments in the list, the installer uses default values shown in the table below for the missing arguments. If you use environment variables to set the arguments, be sure to set all of your environment variables. You can issue this command from a Command Prompt window, you can use the command in a batch file, or you can create a command line script for your deployment software. An unattended installation skips the license agreement the user sees when using the wizard. Page 10 of 13

11 Run the unattended installation 1. Set up your argument values to customize the unattended installation. Script Variables Arguments Description Default Examples LOGFILE /L*V If you use this argument, setup does not create directories so the path for the log file generation must be a valid, existing path. This argument is typically used to diagnose installation errors. Use escape characters when setting this argument. If the command line argument is removed, it defaults to the %TEMP% directory in a file named ERMAgentInstall.log. Script Variable: set LOGFILE=C:\logs\erm _agent-install.txt Command line: /L*V \ C:\logs\erm_agentinstall.txt\ INSTALLDIR_ VAL INSTALL DIR The default, and recommended, installation directory is [drive:]\inserver6. [drive:]\inserver6 Script Variable: set INSTALLDIR_VAL= C:\inserver6 Use escape characters when setting this argument.
